“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Matthew 6:21
The First 10%: Giving as a floor, not a ceiling
The first 10% of everything we earn we give to God. We can give more as we are able, but this 10% is the first step.
The Next 10%: Saving for an unknown future
The next 10% we save to ensure financial stability when emergencies
arise or retirement begins.
The Remaining 80%: Living within your means
The remaining 80% is what we have to spend on groceries, bills, leisure, etc.
Anything left over we can give or save.

F R O M “ T R E A S U R E ” 1. God owns everything; I’m His
money manager.
2. My heart always goes where I put
God’s money.
3. Heaven—the New Earth, not the
present one—is my home.
4. I should live today not for the dot,
but for the line.
5. Giving is the only antidote to
Materialism.
6. God prospers me not to raise my
standard of living, but to raise my
standard of giving.

In 2 Corinthians 9:6b–7, Paul writes, “Whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” We give not to manipulate God or because He obligates
us, but because we love to obey our great God who has given us everything we have.
