Learn to use your camera as a tool for express-ing yourself creatively through the medium of photography. Students will better under-stand how to select and set camera exposure to achieve desired outcomes while exploring composition, depth of field, available light and flash. Indoor and outdoor photos will be taken during class, downloaded and viewed for class discussion to reinforce con-cepts. Other topics we will explore include basic image editing and printing. Students will learn clay preparation tech-niques, how the wheel works and what are its possibilities, while experimenting with lifting (pulling) and shaping the clay. Wear clothes that can get dirty. Numerous decorating tech-niques will be explored as each student will design their own personal piece. Once our pieces are made decorated and dried out, each student will finish their piece with glaze, and be fired in the kiln.
