MERZ explained that. the MiP (Sword and Plough) aimed atcollaboration with the Germans against their common enemy Russia andhoped to become not only the main political factor in Poland but alsothe greatest military power. Among other things EILlTZ instructedNEM to penetrate Greek underground organizations to discover a meansof sending a courier to the Near East and to report to HOESSELBARTH(Herbert) in Athens. NERZ also claimed that EILITZ told him that he(presumably &LITZ) had been instructed to recruit Polish workers inthe oil-fields of southern Poland for sabotage purposes. EILITZstated the saboteurs would probably be trained in Poland and thenmight be transported to Iran by air. (Source: GHQ, M.E.F.Interrogations of NERZ dated January and November 1944. EILlTZ had met MEBZa few arnth.P earlier at a 'Commissar course. Since the end of1942 Ant V/ C 13 bad a representative in Athens first underTAPPENBOECIC, then XOHLHAAS. XYL1TZ was last reported a memberof Ant VI C 12 in June '44. (Comment: This may be a typingerror and it possibly should read C 13. In any event this isstill a part of the Near last Worst.) As of February 1946Allied forces had no record of BYIlTZ's whereabouts and notedhe was among the Ant VI C officers not yet apprehended. (32-5-3-y21 XMAZ 1689, 18 October 1950. From Counter IntelligenceWar Boom, London report of 28 February 1946.)
h. Possible trace on Subject: A Gestapo man named Dr.MINER from Leipzig expressed himself to the effect that manyof the higher-ups among the Gestapo were willing to collaboratewith the Allies while talking with a Turkish diplomat. Dr. EBNERevidently worked most of the war in Breslau. He is a criminalcommissar and a captain, and reportedly shoved great friendli-ness toward interned Turkish diplomats. Comments There is noindication in the report as to the then location in Germany ofDr. HONER. The report was evaluated Y-3 and date of informa-tion prior 15 March 1945. (WASH REG IN? 84, T-3557, 15 March1945. Sources: Info supplied. by a Turkish vice-consul and aTurkish student vbo bad almost completed his studies in Germany.)
2. We have been unable to confirm Subject's activities prior toJune 1942 when be entered the "Criminal "Commissar course also attendedby DjMEOWSY other than to attest to his former police status andprobable assignment in Aachen during 1941 or 1942. There is no recordof his service on the Russian front. The BDC records which are notavailable in his Heatiguarters file might be able to fill in thisperiod as well as substantiate his claims of taking charge of interneddiplomats near Deggendorf in 1945 more than the possible trace citedabove in para 1 H.
