Father Bill’s & MainSpring HELPED 5,000 HouseholdsThrough Our Work

Father Bill’s & MainSpring is committed to ending and preventing homelessness in Southern Massachusetts, with programs that shelter and connect people to housing, jobs and services. We help people who are struggling with homelessness or at risk of homeless achieve self-sufficiency.

With Our Participants

Parents and children, veterans and seniors, or young adults in school. People come to us from all walks of life. We are proud to support them in achieving their goals.

With Our Team

175 dedicated staff – Case Managers, Triage Workers, Housing Coordinators, Employment Specialists, Veteran Specialists and many more provided direct service or worked behind the scenes.

With Our Friends

More than 4,000 donors and 2,000 volunteers helped to support our mission.

ENDING

SINCE 1982

& PREVENTINGHOMELESSNESS

DEAR FRIENDS:

This past June marked the completion of Father Bill’s & MainSpring’s 2009-2014 Strategic Plan. We are proud to announce that we achieved our key housing goal by adding 122 units of permanent supportive housing to our inventory. We also dramatically expanded workforce development services and increased our private fundraising by 17% in five years.

Thanks to you, 360 households live in a place called home, 700 people got jobs and everyone who came to our door received safe shelter and services to help them move on to a better place, despite enormous shelter demand.

It is really people who make this possible, donors, board members, staff, partners and volunteers, dedicated to helping others. Shelter guests and program participants, who despite overwhelming challenges, took bold steps to improve their lives. Their strength, resolve and commitment inspire us to continue the work we do. It is by working together – people helping people – that we can end and prevent homelessness in our community.

Sincerely,

Rev. Adolph H. Wismar, Jr., Board of Directors, Chair

John Yazwinski, President & CEO

Operating part-time, our MainSpring House Clinic struggled to meet the medical needs of our shelter guests.

SOLUTION Renovated Shelter Clinic to be Full-Time

Our healthcare partner, Brockton Neighborhood Health Center, was awarded a $500,000 federal grant to renovate MainSpring Clinic and bring it to full-time status. A nurse practitioner from the health center is on site up to six days/nights per week to ensure our guests receive the care they need.

A Year of INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONSMore than 150 young adults stayed at our shelters. Some were still in high school or college.

SOLUTION Intensive Supports to Keep Students On Track
