• Sample Classroom Netbook Use Procedures
![Page 13: 1:1 Portable PC Labs in K-6 Schools](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062520/568163fb550346895dd59263/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
For What Purpose?• Why do you want a portable PC Lab?• Where will trolleys be stored?• What can netbooks reasonably do?• How long will a session be?• What will the clear goals be for each
netbook session?
![Page 14: 1:1 Portable PC Labs in K-6 Schools](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062520/568163fb550346895dd59263/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Software? Sharing? Printing?• Beyond the pre-installed software,
what else do you need? And Why?• Is access to the school’s server needed?• Is printing required? – If yes, to which printer? Who manages
printing when 30 students in a class print at the same time?
![Page 15: 1:1 Portable PC Labs in K-6 Schools](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062520/568163fb550346895dd59263/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Factor in the Future!
• These netbooks have 2 years’ warranty. How long do you hope they’ll last?– Buying into 1:1 is not a one-off cost– Is there a replacement budget?– Batteries are consumables - $75 each!– Evaluate, assess and reposition!
![Page 16: 1:1 Portable PC Labs in K-6 Schools](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022062520/568163fb550346895dd59263/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
Questions?
• Of course. Who’s going to spend $20,000 or more without asking questions?
