Thanksgiving Food Drive
Community Partnerships:
Stuff Food Drive
Longview TTA helped “Stuff-A-Bus” with non-perishable food items as part of a coordinated
community food drive effort. Longview Transit, in partnership with Longview ISD, Pine Tree
ISD, and Spring Hill ISD, conducted the Stuff-A-Bus Food Drive benefiting Longview
Community Ministries, Hi-way 80 Rescue Mission, and Newgate Mission.
The stuff-a-bus concept is a new project for the Longview area, but similar efforts have
been successful in other communities across the country. The purpose of the food drive
was to work together with residents and local agencies to help make the holiday a little
brighter for Longview neighbors who were struggling to put food on the table.

Lady Kasha Williams talks with TTA
Officers Teen Tiya and Teen Imani about
the importance of their roles within the
organization.
Me and My Mentor: TTA National Service Project PERSONAL HYGIENE KITS
In the United States alone, an estimated 3.5 million people experience homelessness
each year. The lucky ones are given space in crowded homeless shelters, which often
provide a small sleeping area and, sometimes, a meal. Rarely are the homeless given
the basic hygiene supplies necessary to maintain their health and confidence. Everyone
should be able to look themselves in the mirror. Access to basic personal supplies can
give these homeless people a greater sense of self and a brighter outlook on life.
CHAPTERS ARE ASKED TO BRING PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS OR PREPARED
HYGIENE KITS TO THE AREA ONE CONFERENCE FOR PRESENTATION TO A
HOMELESS SHELTER OR OTHER DESERVING
The Longview Chapter of TTA will prepare 50 hygiene kits.
ALL TEENS ARE ASKED TO CONTRIBUTE FOUR (4), FULL SIZED ITEMS as listed:
Tooth brush (individually packaged)
Toothpaste
Bar of soap (individually wrapped)
ALL LADIES ARE ASKED TO CONTRIBUTE FIVE (5), FULL SIZED ITEMS as listed:

Please bring the requested items to our next scheduled meeting at Stamper Resource
