Unit
Length
Length is the size or the measurement of how long something is.
In early days, body parts were used to measure lengths. They are:
Hand Span Cubit
Foot Span Stride
Metre
The metre is the unit used for measuring lengths.
Smaller lengths are measured in centimetres.

cm – centimetre

Mass
Mass tells us the amount of material an object contains.
Weighing balance is used to find the mass of an object.
Kilogram is the unit used for measuring mass.
Smaller masses are measured in grams.

Capacity
Capacity of a container is the amount of liquid it can hold.
Litre is the commonly used unit for measuring capacity.
Smaller amounts of liquid are measured in millilitres.

A measuring cylinder is used to
measure the amount of liquid.
Measuring cylinders come in
various capacities.
Time
Time is measured using a clock or a watch.
The unit for measuring time is seconds.
We also use minutes and hours as other units.
