Subject Rooting Check Guide(Syscope)

1. Purpose

- To inform All ASCs of information about Technical Tip.

2. Reason- To detect an abnormally rooted phone(where phone Operating System has been

tampered with). Rooted handsets are classed as Out of Warranty.

3. Instruction

- There are two ways to check if the phone(GT-I9300) has been rooted.

- Refer to below procedure to CHECK IF THE PHONE IS ROOTED.

1) Check Setting in the phone

(1) Enter Settings→ About device→ Status

(2) Check ‘Device status’ at the bottom.

2) Enter Download Mode in the phone and check rooting

※ Download Mode : Volume Down key + Home key + Power Key and press

Volume Up key.
