Nestled in the Arbuckle Mountains in southern Oklahoma, Falls Creek has been in operation since 1917. It is a distinctively Christian camp, upholding high moral standards and challenging students to follow Christ every day. Falls Creek is unique in that it is a place where over 100 churches come each week to hold their own camp week. Each church secures its own cabin, provides its own sponsors and meals, enforces the dress code and camp code of conduct and teaches its in-cabin devotions. This year’s camp theme is “Undiscovered Territory.” The entire week is designed to teach students about the presence of Christ in their lives. If you would like to look in or listen to some of the camp services, you may go to www.skopos.org/fc-archives for audio of the services from past summers. We also provide a live stream of the Evening Tabernacle Experience during the summer on weeknights from 7:30 p.m. – 8:45 p.m., available at www.skopos.org/fclive. You may also see copies of the camp Bible studies at www.skopos.org/fc-print. Visiting Falls Creek If you drive in for a day at Falls Creek, there will be a $7.00 charge per person before 5:00 p.m. and $3.00 charge per person after 5:00 p.m. Each driver will also be required to present a valid driver’s license for entry into camp. All guests are required to show proof of registration or ID to enter or re-enter the conference center grounds. Day guests should leave grounds by midnight. Courtesy Crew will be on duty 24-hours per day. Courtesy Crew, when called upon, will assist the adult leadership of any cabin in dealing with discipline problems that may arise. Courtesy Crew is authorized to enforce the code of conduct and policies of the conference center. General Falls Creek Conduct Use or possession of illegal drugs, alcohol, or tobacco of any type is not permitted on the grounds. The possession of offensive weapons of any sort is prohibited at Falls Creek. Falls Creek Baptist Conference Center reserves the right to perform a random drug and weapon search at any time and confiscate items that distract from the camp goals or that violate the code of conduct of the camp. Pets/animals (other than service dogs), fireworks, rock throwing, water fighting, laser pointers and shaving cream fights are prohibited on the grounds. Masks or any other disguise over the face cannot be worn by anyone outside of their cabin. For the safety of all guests, skates, rollerblades and skateboards are permitted only in the SwiftSkate area and only at designated times. All cycles are prohibited on the grounds. Violation of this policy could result in confiscation of equipment. No wading or swimming is allowed in the creeks or lake unless there is a Falls Creek lifeguard present. No swimming/wading pools are allowed at cabins. Unnecessary and careless traffic is prohibited on Falls Creek grounds. Only conference center operated golf carts, utility carts, or low speed vehicles (LSVs) are permitted. Delivery trucks are not permitted during summer camp weeks except to supply conference center-owned concessions. Motorcycles may only drive to and from the gate to their cabin or meeting place. Recreation vehicles for living or sleeping purposes are permitted only in designated areas and must register in advance with the Falls Creek Office. All passengers must be seated in the vehicle according to its designated capacity—no passengers are allowed in pickup beds or in the back of vehicles with hatch doors raised. Falls Creek is a Christian environment that promotes personal encouragement and spiritual development of every camper. Falls Creek does not condone or encourage any activity on grounds that humiliate any camper, including initiation, hazing, and pranks.

Page 4: $120 by June 16th $140 - Home - First Baptist Frederick · No wading or swimming is allowed in the creeks or lake unless there is a Falls Creek lifeguard present. No swimming/wading

Recreation Volleyball, softball, basketball, horseshoes, high and low ropes course, challenge elements, skateboarding, hiking, running, kayaks, lake park, water slides, and swimming are scheduled for the week of camp. In addition to these camp wide recreation options, each church designs its own recreation plan for its cabin. If you would like more information about Falls Creek recreation, you can go to www.skopos.org/fc-rec or e-mail [email protected]. Insurance & First Aid Accident and illness insurance is provided for all those attending Falls Creek Baptist Conference Center. Most injuries or illnesses that occur during the week of camp are covered by insurance. Accident and illness insurance benefits are limited and payable up to a certain amount. The insurance coverage includes accidents and illnesses that occur during regularly scheduled activities on the grounds of Falls Creek. The insurance coverage also includes the time spent traveling directly between the conference center grounds and the camper’s residence. Day trips or other activities off the conference center grounds are not covered. To apply for accident and illness insurance benefits, a claim report must be completed and submitted to the insurance provider. The claim report form may be obtained at the First Aid Station at Falls Creek. For claims submitted to the accident and illness insurance company, the injured/ill person is responsible for making payment to the medical provider (hospital, ER, doctor, etc.). If coverage applies, the insurance company will issue reimbursement directly to the injured person, parent, or guardian, as the case may be, for approved claims. A RELEASE FORM MUST BE COMPLETED FOR EACH CAMPER AND SIGNED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN. This information is helpful to the camp physician in ministering to an injured or ill person. Most minor injuries or illnesses are taken care of in the church cabin. However, if medical attention should be required, the sponsor (or an adult appointed by the sponsor) should come with the patient to the First Aid Station. If the illness or accident should be of a serious nature, patients may be sent to a hospital or doctor. Falls Creek Code of Conduct The code of conduct for Falls Creek is intended to assist the many diverse churches and students at camp to have a safe & enjoyable camp experience, while growing in their faith. Falls Creek is designed to help students/adults know and follow God, so the code of conduct prioritizes issues related to a student’s faith development in Jesus. Falls Creek youth weeks are planned for youth (those who have completed 6th through 12th grade). After 10:15 p.m., all students should be inside their cabin and should not be outside their cabin without a sponsor until after 6:30 a.m. Groups are allowed to meet around the perimeter of their cabin during late night devotional times, but a sponsor should be with the group at all times and extra care should be taken so other groups are not disturbed. Groups/individuals need to be inside their cabin by 11:45 p.m. If a particular group needs to meet outside their cabin after 11:45 p.m. for spiritual counsel, a sponsor must be present and the group must move inside the cabin as soon as possible. No bands or instrumental groups are allowed to perform outside their cabin walls, except for groups that are an official part of the weekly programming for the whole camp. Headset listening devices and sound systems may be used only inside cabins. Excessive volume from a cabin is not permitted since it can disturb other cabins. No product sales are allowed at Falls Creek unless they have secured a contract through the Falls Creek Office. Students are required to attend both the Morning and the Evening Tabernacle Experience each day. Sponsors from each church are responsible for enforcing the code of conduct and camp dress code for their students and adults and for handling discipline issues. At all experiences, church groups must sit together. If the group is too large to find a single location for everyone, the group should divide into smaller groups with adult sponsors in each group. Students will not be permitted to leave the grounds unless accompanied by a sponsor. Believing that modesty extends beyond the dress code, Falls Creek asks that students refrain from PDA (Public Displays of Affection). Church sponsors should be diligent to communicate this guideline to their students. It is strongly suggested that churches limit or prohibit their students’ use and possession of cell phones. These items can quickly become a distraction to the goals of the week of camp.

How to Pray this Week There is a prayer guide at the end of this packet we would LOVE for you to join us in praying thru. Your students need to know that both you and our church are praying for them as they spend the week at camp. We encourage you to pray each day specifically for your child and at least one other student on the trip. We will have bracelets available the Sunday before we leave (July 07th) with student & sponsors names on them for you to remember to pray for them individually.

Falls Creek 2019 - 8 Week Prayer Guide As a continued emphasis in our church to focus on prayer, we wanted to give you an opportunity to pray for

all God is planning this summer. Students, leaders, and church members alike can pray. Each week focuses

on a theme and prayer needs.

May 13-17: Focus on your group of students getting ready to come to camp.

Pray for those coming to Falls Creek who do not know Christ. Pray the Holy Spirit would work in their

lives even now to show them their need for the Savior.

Pray for God to pierce through calloused hearts at Falls Creek. Pray students who do not care to listen to

God at Falls Creek would experience the Holy Spirit moving and God speaking to them. Pray students

would not be resistant to the Holy Spirit.

Pray students would come to experience the love of God in their lives. Pray they would respond with

obedience.

Pray God would make Falls Creek all about Him. Pray God would take away distractions. Pray for

students to draw close to Him not only at camp, but throughout their lives.

Pray that students will prioritize their relationship with God more than any other relationship.

May 20-24: Focus on your group’s sponsors and cooks as they serve.

Pray for group leaders as they prepare for camp. Pray they would minister effectively.

Pray for your church’s Falls Creek leadership. Pray they are refreshed with the Gospel and will

communicate God’s words and heart. Pray for your sponsors and cooks. Thank God (and them) for the

hard work they will be doing. Pray they are filled with the joy of the Gospel throughout the week of camp.

Pray God will bless your sponsors and cooks for their willingness to serve. We are all called to be servants.

Pray God will give you a servant’s heart today.

Pray sponsors and cooks will get rest at camp. Pray they would honor God with their time and remember

to spend valuable and much-needed time with Him.

May 27-31: Focus on the different activities and ministries provided at Falls Creek.

Pray for recreation time each day at camp. Pray for the safety of your group. Pray they have fun & enjoy

Falls Creek. Pray students would acknowledge & appreciate God’s gifts of fun, recreation & nature. Pray

for the Morning Worship Services in the tabernacle, event center, and chapel. Pray students would focus

their hearts on the Father for the remainder of the day.

Pray for the people helping with the evening invitation. Pray for God to give them wisdom as they help

those responding to God’s call during the invitation. Pray the harvest would be abundant.

Pray for the various breakouts throughout the week. Pray students who come to breakouts are eager to

listen to God and apply His Word to their lives.

June 3-7: Focus on In-cabin Bible Studies, Evening Devotionals & Quiet Times for your students.

Pray God would empower and speak through those teaching the In-Cabin Bible study for your group.

Pray everyone will be ready and listening to the Holy Spirit.

Pray for the evening cabin devotions. Pray your group is honest, open, and vulnerable to the Holy Spirit

during these times.

Pray God would move mightily through quiet times at camp. Pray your group actively pursues God and

feels His presence.

Pray your cabin devotions provide an opportunity to bring your group closer in unity while studying

God’s Word.

June 10-14: Focus on conference center staff, summer staff & Falls Creek Leadership.

Pray God would meet all the needs (physical strength, emotional patience, spiritual rest, relational peace,

etc.) of the Falls Creek summer staff.

Pray for the Falls Creek Program Director, Todd Sanders, and his staff: Brian Baldwin, Sarah Wooten,

Amy Biliske, and Cory Sams. Pray that God will give them wisdom for all of the many daily decisions.

June 17-21: Focus on students who God has called into missions or ministry, that they would be

faithful to follow His call.

Thank God for all the people who helped provide the R.A. Young Tabernacle, Wynn Center for World

Missions, and the Mathena Family Event Center at Falls Creek. Pray God would continue calling students

to missions at Falls Creek.

Pray those who share missions opportunities with students will effectively communicate how God’s glory

is being spread throughout the world.

Pray students seek out how God wants to use them to share His message across the globe.

Pray for the Missions Village. Pray it will be a powerful way to share God’s heart for the nations. Pray

students will respond to God’s call for missions in their lives.

Pray God would speak directly to your group at Falls Creek. Pray people in your group are obedient to

take a leap of faith.

June 24-28: Focus on the camp pastors & bands who will bring God’s Word & lead your students in

worship.

Pray for the camp pastors. Pray God will allow them to say only His words and to communicate His heart

effectively.

Pray for the worship leaders as they prepare to lead campers in worship each day. Pray students and

leaders would meditate on what worship means and evaluate their private worship, remembering that

worship is a way of live and not an event.

Pray for the invitation times each evening (Tuesday through Friday) at Falls Creek. Ask God to remove

any distractions or hindrances during those times.

Pray camp pastors and worship leaders alike would seek after God, studying His Word and committing

to following the example of Jesus. Pray they would be good examples to students.

July 1-5: Focus on your student’s hearts, obedience to God’s call & the Spirit of Unity among your

group.

Pray God would cultivate a deeper spirit of unity and love within your group. Pray about how you can

play a part in facilitating that environment.

Pray for those in your group who have complacent hearts and live hypocritical Christian lives. Pray they

would gain a true longing for God like they have never known and pray that longing would radically change

the way they live.

Pray students will better understand God’s presence and commands. Pray God will break the sin patterns

in their lives.

Pray for God to build up peer relationships in your group. Pray for relationships to be strengthen in Christ,

pray your group will work to hold each other accountable after camp.

Pray God would speak directly to members of your group and work in the lives of students who do not

know Him. Pray for those God calls to boldly follow Him in obedience.

Pray God will draw young men and women to Himself.

Pray God will save souls.
