Organized by the Bulgarian Federation of Speleology and Cave Rescue Bulgaria on behalf of the European Speleological Federation. Under the motto “90 years of organized speleology in Bulgaria and 45 years of cave rescue in Bulgaria” the forum will provide a variety of activities to make it interesting and useful for each participant. Some of them are: Presentations, poster presentations and symposia about cave explorations and

expeditions, cave biology and bio speleology, cave geology, geomorphology and geography of karst, cave protection and cave rescue;

2nd EuroSpeleo Show Cave Symposium; Speleo-Olympic competitions; Caving, mountain and cultural trips included in the pre-meeting program (21-25

September) and during the forum. Caving parties in the evenings.

The 13th EuroSpeleo Forum is going to take place in the National Education Centre of the Red Cross Dolni Lozen, Sofia, Bulgaria, from 26th to 29th September 2019.

The meeting place

The National Education Centre of the Red Cross is situated in a beautiful pine forest at the foot of the Lozen Mountain, 20 km from the centre of Sofia city.

The hotel complex of the National Educational Centre has a two-star rating and consists of five separate hotel buildings located on a large, terraced territory (8 single rooms, 29 double rooms, 17 triple room, 2 apartments, a place for caravans and tents). There is a restaurant on the National Educational Centre with a lounge for 110 seats.

The National Educational Centre of the Red Cross has his own conference centre. The entertaining centre has a billiard room, a gym, a sauna, a tennis court and fields for mini-football and basketball.

Program

The 13th EuroSpeleo Forum will take place in the rooms (venues) of the National Educational Centre of the Red Cross, Dolni Lozen, Sofia, Bulgaria. The program of EuroSpeleo Forum 2019 will include the following topics and symposia: Cave Exploration & Expeditions; Cave Biology / Bio speleology; Cave Geology, Geomorphology and Geography of Karst; Cave Protection; Cave Rescue; EuroSpeleo Show Cave Symposium.

As well as: Speleo-Olympics Competition.

There will be a pre-meeting program (21-25 September), which will include caving, mountain and cultural trips. All field trips included in pre-meeting program and during EuroSpeleo Forum will be announced in the 2nd circular.

Registration and Expo The Organizing Committee invites your speleological organization or business to become a vendor and/or an exhibitor at the EuroSpeleo Forum. More information for exhibitors will be provided in the 2nd Circular. Registration fees for participants Early bird registration (1st February 2019 – 31st May 2019): 25 Euro. Standard registration (from 1st June & on-site): 35 Euro. The registration fee includes: Admission to the conference areas; Admission to the exhibitors area; Conference bag, materials and proceedings; Voucher for a festive dinner and one free drink.

Participation fees for field trips have to be paid separately.

Official Language

The official language of the EuroSpeleo Forum 2019 is English. All presentations should be written in English. No simultaneous translation will be provided.

Visa

There are no visa requirements for citizens of EU and most other European countries. Please consult the Bulgarian Embassy in your country if in doubt. If needed, the participants can request a letter of Invitation by e-mail: [email protected] or [email protected]

Useful information

The local currency in Bulgaria is the Bulgarian lev (BGN). 1 Euro is about 1.95583 BGN.
