NEW ONLINE PRESCRIPTION ORDERING SERVICE
SystmOnline - Getting Started
SystmOnline is the new tool which will enable our patients to order and track online
prescriptions. In time patients who have a SystmOnline account will also be able to book
and change appointments online .
SystmOnline will offer additional prescription information to patients eg: what is authorised
and available to order, when you last ordered an item, when you may order item(s) again
and so on.
All patients registered to use our existing online prescription service will need to move to
SystmOnline over the coming weeks to enable them to continue to use the online ordernig
service.
On 31 December 2013 we will turn off our existing online prescription service and online
prescriptions will only be available via SystmOnline.
If a patient wishes to use SystmOnline for repeat prescriptions s/he must be given user name
and a password. Only the practice can issue user names and passwords.
Patients may visit the practice and be issued with a user name and a password from the front
desk staff. Alternatively you may email the practice and have a user name and a password
emailed back.
Email requests should be sent to [email protected]
Please note your request must include:
• Your full name (including middle name) and
• Your date of birth and
• Your house number and postcode

Managing Prescriptions with
SystmOnline
For certain drugs, you can request a new
prescription.
Click the Current Prescriptions link on the
Home Page, or the Current Prescriptions
button on the main menu bar.
All current repeat prescriptions are listed
with the drug, dosage, quantity, last
issued date and status. An empty tick box
in the left-hand column means you can
ask for a new prescription for that drug.
To request a repeat prescription:
Select the drug by ticking the box in the
left-hand column.

need to include further information with

Medication Request Notes field.

The Medication Order Summary is
displayed, stating that a request has been
sent to the practice to re-prescribe the
item(s), and that the prescription will be
ready for collection from the practice in
two working days (after 3pm).

prescription is sent to your nominated
pharmacy that will be ready for
collection/delivery in three working days.

Granting Additional Access to Your Account
You can give other SystmOnline users access to your SystmOnline account(s). To set up the
additional users on your account:
• Click the Grant Additional
Access link on the Home
Page.
• Enter a name for the
account.
• Get the other person to enter
the SystmOnline username
and password that they
currently use to log in to
SystmOnline.
• Click Submit. A message is
displayed to confirm that the
extra user has been added.
Plesae note: Giving someone else access to your account will give them access to all of your
SystmOnline account.
To remove the extra accounts:
• Click the Grant Additional Access link on the Home Page.
• Click the Remove button next to the account you wish to remove.
• A message is displayed to confirm that you want to remove the account. Click either
Confirm to remove the extra account, or Cancel to go back to the Home Page.

Changing your SystmOnline Password
You will initially be given a random password but you can change this to something more
memorable. Passwords must be eight or more characters long and must contain at least one
number and one non-alphanumeric character, e.g. '!' or '?'
Click the Change Password link
on the Home Page.
Enter the current password.
Enter the new password.
Re-enter the new password.
Click Submit. You are advised
to memorise the new
password, and not to write it
down or disclose it to anyone
else.
Click Back.

SystmOnline Usage and Privacy Policies
Please use this service responsibly. In the case of any abuse of the service, your GP practice
can prevent you from accessing the service by stopping your user name and password from
working.
Examples of irresponsible use of the system may include, but are not limited to:
• registering at a GP practice when you have no intention of using it as your usual GP
practice
• registering at a GP practice outside your catchment area
• booking appointments you have no intention of attending
• repeatedly booking and then cancelling appointments
• repeatedly requesting prescriptions that you do not need
We are committed to protecting your privacy online. The personal information you enter on
this website is strictly controlled. Information entered is available only to members of staff with
appropriate access rights at your GP practice - i.e. those managing appointment booking,
repeat prescribing and patient registration.
Your personal information will not be shared with any third parties.
