Affirmations for 14 Day
Confidence Conditioning Program
Day 1:
1. I am a focused and solid performing endurance athlete.
2. I am confident in my ability regardless of weather or external conditions.
3. No matter what others say or do – my success is up to what I do.
Day 2:
1. Put the past behind you and focus in the present one stride at a time.
2. Stop being so negative. You love triathlons and can pull this one together. Be one
with the challenge at hand.
3. Mistakes will not put you behind, however poor reactions will. Let go and focus on
the next phase of the event.
Day 3:
1. The quality of my performance has nothing to do with who I am and how I feel
about myself. I have what it takes to win.
2. I have the ability and deserve to be in this event. My recent success proves I can win
these events.
3. My swim times have improved and get better every day. I have a strong enough time
including transition to be in the top 10 today.

Day 4:
1. I am in control of my emotions and what I choose to focus on
2. My performance today will be the best I can give regardless of the weather or
conditions of the course/day.
3. My tool bag of skills/confidence for each event has improved with each day of
practice. I have good enough skills to place in the top third in each event today.
Day 5:
1. I choose to “park” distractions by putting them in a small box and place the small
box on a shelf for the time being. Distractions have no place and will have no effect
on my performance today
2. I am prepared, focused, and ready to compete in today’s event
3. I choose to see myself performing effortlessly as I glide through the water with
confidence and focus.
4. My race plan for today has prepared me to perform to the best of my ability and
focus on my own personal performance and not that of others
Day 6:
1. My goal for today’s race is to compete to the best of my ability and have no
expectations.
2. I love to compete, I love the energy of being in a field of runners, bikers and
swimmers and chose to focus on remaining present and in the flow.
3. Today is an opportunity for me to break through and look to success in-spite of the
rain and the conditions of the field.
4. The quality of my performance has improved and continued to improve each day.
To run my best is what I choose to focus on today.
5. By running my own race and sticking to my game plan there is success without
judgment.

Day 7:
1. I choose to take the success from practice in to the race with confidence and trust
in my ability to be a winner.
2. The last two races have proven that success in practice can transfer to success in
competition.
3. Being in the flow and in the process of my own race means no judgment and no
analysis.
4. I choose to take the success from practice in to the race with confidence and trust
in my ability to be a winner.
5. In the moment with this event is all that matters. The next moment will come when
the time is right. For now I choose to be present and in the moment without the
pressure of what the future will bring.
Day 8:
1. Run like a butterfly – sting like a bee – I choose to perform with grace and speed and be all that I can be.
2. I am the fastest in the swim event because my performance in practice and meets
supports this belief.
3. Other’s labels of me matter not. My mental game is improving each and every day. I
am a focused and mentally tough competitor.
4. Walk with your head high - remain silent – perform with intensity, commitment &
show competitive spirit.

Day 9:
1. I am looking forward to each new day because I chose to believe I add value to the
team.
2. Each day I will spend 20 minutes in practice perfecting my cadence on the bike and
choose to believe my success in practice will lead to success in competition.
3. Each day I become more confident in my swimming ability, and trusting my
confidence will bring success in competition.
Day 10:
1. Today I choose to focus only on executing a smooth transition from the swim, bike,
and run.
2. Today I will focus on the joy of competition and the process of being in the process
and not on the results of the race.
3. I have competed in many triathlons and trust in my skills to execute and make the
right decisions at the right time in competition.
Day 11:
1. I plan to run a quality race today by not giving into weak legs and trusting in my
stamina and training for this event.
2. If it starts to rain during the race, I will think “stop”, and refocus on the course
ahead connect with my rhythm.
3. When the “stitch” gets to me, I will “stop” breathe deeply and release calmly, and
refocus on breathing through this challenge.

Day 12:
1. I choose to let go of my last transition and focus on getting into a rhythm for
success on my bike.
2. The time is right to let go of your time in the swim, and regroup your intensity and
commitment to the bike section of the race.
3. The tenseness I feel when in a “pack” of swimmers makes me nervous, I must
refocus on my breathing and not worry about the things that are not in my control.
Day 13:
1. I chose to avoid trash talk and remain focused on the relevant cues that keep me
centered during the race.
2. Even though I will be racing with some of the best racers in the world, I am
confident in my training and ability to run aggressively compete.
3. My game plan today is designed to keep me present, in emotional control, and not
let distractions get in the way of my success.
Day 14:
1. This is my race today. My race plan is designed to keep me in the flow all the way to
the finish line.
2. My training has prepared me for this day. I am confident that my training success has
prepared me for this day.
3. As you run this race, remember your training and the Trust you have gained from
each and every days success.
Put the past behind you, and focus in the present one step at a time.
