Advanced Crop Management

• Established in 1996• Main focus was soil sampling for variable rate

fertilizer application• GPS services have grown with the business for

soil sampling, crop scouting, and precision ag solutions

• Nutrient Management Plans for livestock producers

Advanced Crop Management

• Agricultural Services– Crop Consulting– Nutrient Management Plans– Soil Sampling– Precision Ag Sales & Installation- Ag Leader

Advanced Crop Management

• Crop Consulting– Crop Planning• Seed, Herbicide, Fertilizer, Fungicide, Insecticide

– Crop Scouting• Crop staging, weeds, insects, disease, nutrient

deficiency, soil nitrate test, yield estimates

Nutrient Management Plans

• Develop and maintain NMP’s for new and existing livestock operations

• Collecting manure samples for NMP records and analysis for application rates

• Soil samples are taken to determine soil fertility levels

Advanced Crop Management

• Soil Sampling– Grid – 2.5, 4.4, 10 ac – Management Zone – Soil Type

• Use GPS and field mapping software in-field– Ag Leader GPS– HGIS Mapping Software

• Desktop Software– Ag Leader SMS Software– SST Software– SGIS Software

Field Boundaries

• Exterior of field is driven while GPS marks out the boundary.

• This is drawn prior to taking soil samples.

• Waterways, terraces, ponds, etc. are marked out as well.

Grid Size and Sample Points

• Once the boundary is drawn, grid squares are created based on grid size and boundary shape.

• Points are then drawn within the grid areas.

• This is where the sample will be taken.

Soil Sample Results

Flat Rate vs. VRT Application

Flat Rate vs. VRT Application

• MAP (Mono-ammonium phosphate)– $730.00 per ton– Flat Rate Total Amount Applied• 11.6 tons x $730.00/ton = $8,468.00• $8,468 / 149.1ac = $56.80 per acre for MAP Flat Rate

– VRT Total Amount Applied• 4.2 tons x $730.00/ton = $3,066.00• $3,066 / 149.1 = $20.56 per acre for MAP VRT

Flat Rate vs. VRT Application

Flat Rate vs. VRT Application

• Potash – $600.00 per ton– Flat Rate Total Amount Applied• 15.0 tons x $600/ton = $9000.00 • $9000 / 149.1ac = $60.40 per acre for Potash Flat Rate

– VRT Potash• 12.0 tons x $600/ton = $7200.00• $7200 / 149.1ac = $48.30 per acre for Potash VRT

Advanced Crop Management

• Precision Ag Sales & Installation– Ag Leader Products• SeedCommand – Planters, drills, air seeders• DirectCommand – Sprayers, spinner spreaders, strip-till• GPS/Guidance – Assisted steering, hydraulic steering• Harvest – Yield monitoring on combines

– Selling– Installing– Supporting

Advanced Crop Management

• Benefits of Precision Ag– More efficient use of agricultural inputs• Seed – Row Shutoffs• Fertilizer• Chemicals – Sprayer Boom Section Shutoffs

– Allows operator to concentrate more on task at hand; Reduces operator fatigue

– End Result= Precision products gives the producer priceless data to continue to make profitable decisions for their operation
