Within a picturesque curve of coastline, 10 miles to the north of Dublin
City and only a 15-minute drive from Dublin Airport, Portmarnock Golf
Club sits majestically on a narrow tongue of shallow duneland. As a
measure of its enduring quality, it remains one of the most respected
venues in World golf.
No other Irish course has been graced by so many distinguished players
and rich history. It is where Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead successfully
followed its serpentine route, through classic links land, on their way
to victory in the 1960 Canada Cup. And it is where another generation
of Americans, including Phil Mickelson and David Duval, secured a
memorable Walker Cup triumph in 1991.
These events, along with 19 stagings of the European Tour’s Irish Open
Championship, reflect the quality of the link’s twenty-seven holes. The
course is rated consistently at the top of national polls, including the Golf
Digest rankings.

Royal County Down is located in one of the world’s most naturally beautiful
links, set in the Murlough Nature Reserve, against the magnificent backdrop
of the Mountains of Mourne. The links stretch along the shores of Dundrum
Bay, zigzagging back and forth to provide a different vista from virtually
every hole. The narrowest ribbons of fairways thread their way through
an impressive set of sand dunes as could be imagined. The fairways are
surrounded by purple heather and golden gorse, so beautiful to look at, but
so punishing for any who may stray from the prescribed path.
The ‘bearded’ bunkers are world famous and feature overhanging lips of
marram, red fescue and heather. The greens are fast and many are domed,
rejecting any shot lacking conviction.
This is a true test of any player’s command. The ninth hole is one of the
most photographed holes in world golf - A 486-yard par 4, it is played from
one side of a huge mound, down to a fairway some 60 ft below, and 260
yards from the tee. From the bottom of the slope the second shot is played
over two bunkers to a raised green.
The finest of all links courses, it offers a stern challenge from the
championship tees. The record is 66 set by Ireland’s first golfing superstar,
Jimmy Bruen, in 1939. From the stableford tees it offers golfers of all
standards the opportunity of playing a truly great course, with dramatic
panorama of the surrounding mountains and coastline

Castlerock Golf Club is situated in the seaside village of Castlerock, which lies
approximately 5 miles due west of the town of Coleraine, on the north coast
of Northern Ireland. Castlerock is a fabulous links course set among rolling
sand dunes. Its scenic qualities embrace the river Bann flowing out to the
Atlantic, and eye-catching views of Donegal. On a clear day these extend
towards Scotland and the Isle of Islay, making this an ideal retreat in which to
play golf.
The Championship Mussenden Course is a par 73 with five par-5’s, four
par-3’s, and nine par-4’s. The best-known hole is the fourth, called the Leg
o’Mutton, a 200 yard par-3 with a railway line to the right, a burn to the left
and a raised green. The high sand dunes along the coast start coming into
play on the 7th.The “Armchair,” a 418-yard par 4 that plays uphill to a green
encompassed by dunes. It also finishes among some of the most dramatic
land on the property. The 17th is a downhill par 5 that played, with wind
behind you, is little more than a driver and short iron into the hole - but
deep bunkers lie right of the fairway. On the 18th, you tee off through two
huge dunes back towards town, before doglegging right up an elevated
green in front of the clubhouse.

Founded in 1894 and redesigned by Willie Park jnr in the 1920’s this
championship links course received its greatest makeover with the purchase
of land known as “Thistly Hollow”, in 1981. This enabled the club to build a
stunning new seven holes through towering dunes and fabulous natural
links land. Designed by local school teacher Des Giffin the Strand Course is
the jewel in the Portstewart portfolio.
Portstewart has played host to many major Amateur and Professional
Championships over the years including most recently the hugely successful
2017 Irish Open, won by Jon Rahm.
Portstewart Golf Club is proud to offer 54 holes of golf spectacularly set on
Ulster’s famous Causeway Coast with something for every golfer, a must
play when in Northern Ireland.

The Royal Dublin Golf Club is home to a superb and very traditional golf links
on Bull Island in Dublin Bay. Bull Island is of historical interest in its own right.
Captain William Bligh (of HMS Bounty fame) recommended the building of
a sea wall to facilitate the safe approach of shipping into Dublin Port. The
wall, known as the Bull Wall, was constructed in the early 1800s and a direct
consequence was the formation of a sand bank, which has grown ever since,
and has become Bull Island. The famous golf architect Harry Colt was brought
in to design the course following its destruction by the military during the
First World War. His work brought a measure of fame to the Club and the
course has been sought out for prestigious golfing events ever since. The
list of great golfers who have played the links is long and distinguished, and
includes major winners like Ian Woosnam, Ian Baker Finch, Curtis Strange,
Sandy Lyle, Corey Pavin, Bob Charles and Wayne Grady.
In addition, television commentator David Feherty won his first professional
tournament at Royal Dublin - The 1980 Irish National PGA Championship. In
fact, Royal Dublin hosted the tournament from 1978 through 1980 and was
won by Christy O’Connor, Des Smyth and David Feherty respectively. The
tournament continues to this day as the Irish PGA Championship which was
won by Padraig Harrington the week before both of his British Open victories.

Among the finest and most challenging traditional Irish links golf courses,
Enniscrone began in 1918 as an unrefined nine-hole course near a seaside
village. Today, Enniscrone offers 27 holes on 400 acres of magnificent links
land, featuring the par 73 Dunes Championship Links Course.
The Dunes has quietly become one of Ireland’s top-ranked championship
links courses: voted “Best in Connacht” by Golfers Guide to Ireland;
repeatedly a top-20 links course in Golf Digest’s review of Irish golf courses;
and a perennial Top-100 UK course in golf reviews.
Simply put, a “must play” as described by American golf novelist Tom Coyne.

Rosapenna Golf Resort is home to two championship links courses in one
stunning coastal location. Golfers have been travelling to Rosapenna since
the late 19th century when the Old Tom Morris links was ranked 3rd in the
British Isles behind St Andrews, and Royal County Down.
It was for this reason that great golfers of their time Harry Vardon, James
Braid and Tom Ball holidayed in Rosapenna. In 2003, Rosapenna Golf Resort
opened its second course the Sandy Hills links designed by Pat Ruddy of
European Club fame.
In its relatively short lifetime Sandy Hills has been met with rave reviews
and steadily climbed the rankings as it matures into one of Ireland’s finest
modern links courses.

The expansive panoramic views of countryside, coastline and ocean savoured
by these magnificent links course will not easily be forgotten.
The Old Links undulates in the glory of its natural terrain, presenting an
immensely enjoyable challenge to every golfer. Work recently undertaken by
NICK FALDO has strengthened The Old Links and brought much acclaim from
members and visitors.
The new Glashedy Links is a Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock masterpiece
fashioned around the incredible dunes, and is rated amongst the best links
tracks in the world. Ruddy cherishes Glashedy as his own, and has returned
in recent years to fine tune the stunning bunkering of this magnificent links.
Craddock and Ruddy are also credited with much of the improvement carried
out to The Old Links in the course of constructing The Glashedy Links.

The links of the European Club was designed by Pat Ruddy and is owned
and operated by him with help of his family. Ruddy is a golf-writer and golf
course designer whose work will also be found at such highly regarded
venues as Ballyliffin, Druids Glen, Druids Heath, Rosapenna, Portsalon,
St. Margaret’s, Donegal (Muragh) and Montreal Island Golf Club. Ruddy
discovered the property when he surveyed Ireland’s coastline by helicopter
in search for a classic golf location. The result is a magnificent addition to
the world’s short supply of approximately 160 true links (51 of these are in
Ireland).
Champions from all over the world have discovered The European Club and
Tiger Woods currently holds the course record of 67. The European Club
hosted the Irish PGA Championship in 2007 and 2008, specifically to prepare
Padraig Harrington for the British Open in the following weeks. It worked so
well he won both the Irish Open and British titles both years!

Lahinch Golf Club is a world-renowned links golf course in the village of
Lahinch on the northwest coast of County Clare, in northern Munster,
Ireland. It is situated approximately 20 miles northwest of the town of Ennis.
Founded in 1892 by officials of Limerick Golf Club, Alexander W. Shaw and
Richard J. Plummer, they laid out an 18-hole course, the original course had
ten holes on each side of the road. It has often been described as the “St.
Andrew’s” of Ireland.
The original links was laid out by old Tom Morris and Alister MacKenzie, who
co-designed Augusta National Golf Club, redesigning the Old Course and
extending the links in 1927, for a fee of £2000. Lahinch is actually two 18-
hole courses, the Old Course, is between the road and the sea, situated at
the opposite side of the road from the Old Course is the Castle Course. The
Castle Course is a flatter links named after the ruins of a nearby castle tower
that stands to the north of the course.

Ireland. Located on the north-west coast of County Kerry, on a beautiful
stretch of sand dunes overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, you’ll find two
wonderfully challenging and unique links golf courses at Ballybunion - the
Old Course and the Cashen Course.
This is the perfect place for your golf vacation in Ireland. The Old Course
exudes a majestic feel that simply cannot be compared to any other course
on earth.
With beautifully contoured fairways that tumble down through a blanket of
grassy dunes, its no wonder these challenging holes have been consistently

Designed by Arnold Palmer, The Palmer Ryder Cup Course and The Smurfit
Course are considered two of Europe’s finest Championship Courses, recently
voted on the top ten worldwide golf resorts by CNN. A golf holiday in Ireland
is not complete without The K Club visit. Let’s face it, where else can you play a
venue that has hosted The Ryder Cup and 13 European Opens at one venue?
The Palmer Ryder Cup Course is quite simply, one of Europe’s most spectacular
courses. It charms, it entices and invariably, brings out the very best in your game.
It is unlikely that you will be asked to tackle the course from the championship
tees, but this should in no way diminish the excitement of pitting your wits
against Arnold Palmer, for, in a sense, this is precisely what you are about to do.
Ranked regularly in the top 3 parkland golf courses in Ireland, this Palmer
designed golf haven is a must play ‘badge of honour’ that has hosted the top
golf players in the world. The Ryder Cup in 2006 and 11 European Opens testify
the importance of The Palmer Ryder Cup Course to European Golf.

Royal Portrush golf course is one of the best and most challenging links golf
courses in the world. It has recently been chosen as “The Open” venue for
2019 major. The previous time it was held outside the mainland UK was in
Portrush back in 1951, and won by Max Faulkner.
In June 2012 it held the Irish Open with the highest attendance in European
Tour history.
Situated on the beautiful North Antrim Causeway coast, Royal Portrush
Golf Club occupies a triangle of giant sand hills which present magnificent
views in all directions. The hills of Donegal in the west, the Isle of Islay and
Southern Hebrides in the north, with the Giant’s Causeway and the Skerries
in the east.
The course is overlooked by the ruins of 13th century Dunluce Castle and
this gives its name to Royal Portrush’s famous Dunluce course. The course
itself is simply breath-taking, with huge sand-dunes, knee deep grass Brier,
hidden dips, blind tee shots and tight undulating greens, all adding up to an
unforgettable round of golf. And of course, the ever-changing weather can
bring any low handicapper to their knees, making this a hard course to crack,
and a must play!

Lough Erne Resort is home to two Championship Golf Courses - The Faldo
Course and Castle Hume Golf Course.
The Faldo Championship Course (7,167 yards Par 72) designed by Six Time
Major winner Nick Faldo, Lough Erne is Faldo’s first golf course design in
Ireland. Set on a 600-acre peninsula between Castle Hume Lough and
Lower Lough Erne, The Faldo Course has been planned carefully to take full
advantage of the natural topography.
This makes for fourteen holes where the waters of the Loughs come into
play, including a green surrounded on three sides by water. Superb all year
round playing conditions, ensure a spectacular, challenging and exciting
golf experience. In terms of beauty and enjoyment, there are few courses
that can rival The Faldo Championship Course at Lough Erne Golf Resort in

This is a beautiful course., “Walking down the 18th in the middle of this
historic village reminds me of walking up the 18th at St. Andrews.” says Ian
Baker Finch, the 1991 Open Champion, Australia.
Ardglass Golf Course is an 18-hole links course on the north-eastern coast of
Ireland with many stunning views and excellent and unique golf holes. The
course is just 50 minutes by car from Belfast and only 30 minutes from the
world renowned Royal County Down golf links at Newcastle.
The course is a true test of golf, particularly on a windy day. The course hugs
the coastline, with no fewer than 8 holes where the Irish Sea coastline comes
into play. The Irish Sea is visible from all 18 tees and greens, and on a clear day
it is possible to see across the Irish Sea to the Isle of Man.
Ardglass really is a course to savour with some outstanding holes. The
1st from the Medal Tee, the daunting 2nd, the unforgiving 11th and the
picturesque Par 3 12th, each require a carry across the coastline or cliff tops of
the Irish Sea. Ranking them among the best, most photographed and talked
about golf holes in Ireland. NI Golf Tours headquarters is based five miles from
here and is the place where we fell in love with the game.

Titanic Belfast is located in the former headquarters of Harland & Wolff,
builders of the Titanic, and provides the perfect destination for anyone
travelling on business or for pleasure.
The Harland & Wolff Drawing Offices, the earliest part of these historic
buildings, date from the 1880s, and over the following 100 years played an
important part in the design of many of the world’s most famous ocean
liners, and the creation of the ‘floating hotel’ influencing the design of many
of today’s cruise ships.

The Centre is an exciting interpretative exhibition which tells the fascinating
story of Ireland’s Patron Saint. Through Patrick’s own words, a light is shone on
the arrival of Christianity in Ireland and its development through his mission.
A series of interactive displays allow visitors to explore how Patrick’s legacy
developed in early Christian times, and reveal the fabulous artwork and
metalwork which was produced during this Golden Age. The exhibition also
examines the major impact of Irish missionaries in Dark Age Europe - a legacy
which remains to this day.

RMS Titanic was built. Titanic Belfast extends over nine galleries, with
multiple dimensions to the exhibition, drawing together special effects, dark
rides, full-scale reconstructions and innovative interactive features to explore
the Titanic story in a fresh and insightful way; from her conception in Belfast
in the early 1900s, through her construction and launch, to her infamous
maiden voyage and catastrophic demise.
The journey goes beyond the aftermath of the sinking, to the discovery
of the wreck and continues into the present day with a live undersea
exploration centre.

Volcanic crashing and burning, sixty million years ago, led to the formation
of the Giant’s Causeway, a coastline that has inspired artists, stirred debate
amongst scientists and captivated the imagination of locals and visitors for
centuries. Made up of nearly 40,000 basalt columns that stretch out to sea,
the formation of this strange landscape can be explained by science. Locals,
however, have their own story to tell. They say the Giant’s Causeway was
the stomping ground of the giant Finn McCool, who lived in these parts
nearly two thousand years ago and he certainly left his mark. You can still
see evidence of this in the landscape today. Come to the brand-new Giant’s
Causeway Visitor Experience and explore the science, myth and legends
that surround this magical place.
