Subject: OF connectivity to colleges under NMEICT

Ref.: Letter No. 64-53/09-Broadband dated 23/11/2009

With reference to above noted subject, it is seen that cases are being referred to Corporate

Office wherein circles are asking queries about the commercial and technical ways todeal with the colleges who have got existing OF connectivity. Following are the major

category of colleges where in the issue of OF connectivity is being faced:

colleges following which thebandwidth can be provided

from nearest DSLAM/OCLAN

For OF lead, colleges have to pay as

per applicable tariff for OF charges or

the tariffs finalized by Circle Heads in

such cases. In addition, College willbe asked to pay 25% of the charges fo

bandwidth & 75% charges ofbandwidth shall be borne by MHRD.

2. Provision of Bandwidth to colleges

Wherever feasible, Ethernet port of DSLAM shall be utilized for providing the

bandwidth otherwise the same shall be provided from OCLAN. The bandwidth is to

be provided in the form of VPN over Broadband only.

All circles are requested to accordingly inform the colleges about the commercial

conditions.This is issued with the approval of competent authority.
