Medical Team
The multi-lingual medical team with representatives fromvarious medical branches will offer on-site “office hours” todiscuss health and emergency issues and to answer your per-
sonal questions. If our doctors find that participating couldbe detrimental to your health, they will advise you not to doso. Your health is of utmost importance.
Massage
Everyone who pre-ordered a massage with their registrationcan get their muscles and tendons loosened up. You can alsoinquire on site if there are any available spots.
Race Documents
Upon presentation of your registration confirmation and yourown photo ID (e.g. start card, passport), race numbers willbe distributed at the Expo BERLIN VITAL Fall from September24–26, 2015. No race numbers will be distributed on raceday! If you own a ChampionChip, you must bring it with youto be registered. Rental chips are available as well.There might be long waiting periods from 10.00 am onat Saturday. A wristband which gets you into the start area on raceday willbe tied around your wrist. Do not take it off before leaving thefinish area. Access to the starting block will be denied to all
people without a duly tied wristband.
All participants who pre-ordered products or services (adidasEvent and Finishershirts) will have the respective coupons at-tached to their race numbers. These must be redeemed at theExpo BERLIN VITAL – this will not be possible later.

Methods of getting to the start area
Please plan on leaving 1,5 to 2 hours early for thestart – it is a long way.Do not ruin your chances for a good race by having a hecticstart or getting there too late. As there are no parking facili-ties for cars or busses near the start, we ask you to please usepublic transportation.

Entrance to the Starting area
For security reasons, the start area will only be open to parti-cipants with official race numbers and upon presenting yourwristband which will be tied to your wrist when fetching yourrace documents. The start area will be opened at 7:00 a.m.The start/finish is only open to participants (no ac-companying persons).
In order to avoid cramming the entrances and having to walklong distances, we recommend that you choose where youenter the start area according to the location of your clothingdrop-off.You can find information and the location of your clothingdrop-off on our website (see www.bmw-berlin-marathon.com/en/race-day/start) about two weeks before the eventor at the BERLIN VITAL Fair.In the extended starting area between the Reichstag and theFederal Chancellery there are changing tents and sufficient
toilets available. Please use them!
Clothing Drop-off
You must drop off your clothing by 8:30 a.m. (at the latest) atthe tent allocated for your race number. Please only use theclothing bag, which you received with your race materials,you will receive a sticker with your race number on it to stickon the bag.
Do not leave any valuable or breakable items in the clothingbag. We recommend you to take your valuables along, such
as hotel card, car key, etc., with you or leave them withfriends or family. The organizer is not liable for any damageor loss of your items.
Changing tents and toilets
Please see the start/finish map on page 12 – 13 for the loca-tion of the changing tents and toilets.The changing tent and toilets with wheelchair access arelocated between the start and the Siegessäule (Victory Co-lumn) in the direction of the race.
Please do not leave your clothing and shoes unattended.
Information Booth
The INFO booth is located at the intersection ofScheidemannstraße / Heinrich-von-Gagern-Straße.
Personal Refreshments
If you prefer, you can drop off your own personal refresh-ments for the various refreshment points. Please deliver yourcontainers (labelled clearly with your name and race number
– NO GLASS!) by 7:30 a.m. at the Personal Refreshmentsstand (Gate 5, Otto-von-Bismarck-Allee).
Nonetheless, we would like to state that with thegreat number of individual containers it may be difficult tofind your own items at the refreshment points.
Race Numbers
Only entrants with an official race number for the BMWBERLIN-MARATHON 2015 and a duly tied wristband will be
permitted to compete in the race.
Race numbers are not transferable.
There is an “EMERGENCY PASSPORT” on the back of your racenumber. For your own safety and to assure prompt assi-stance, please fill in your personal data.
Please include your address in Berlin (hotel, etc.), room andtelephone number. Please insert an emergency contact per-
son including his/her telephone number.
The number for all emergencies is: 112(Fire department), Keyword: MARATHON
Your race number does not provide for free transportationon the public transportation network (except on race day –
from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. –if you drop out of the race).Bibs must be worn on the chest so that your number is clearlyvisible. They may not be altered in any way.
Any form of alteration will result in disqualification!
Be on the alert for runners without race numbers who maytry to mingle in with the official competitors at the start.Such runners serve only to adulterate the performance fi-gures of the official runners, and they take unfair advantageof the support and aid services intended only for registered
entrants.

Timekeeping
No chip – no timekeeping!The timekeeping will be kept solely with the ChampionChipfrom Mika Timing GmbH, Strundepark, Kürtener Str. 11 B,51465 Bergisch-Gladbach, phone: (022 02) 240 11 13Email: [email protected]
Please fasten the chip securely to your shoelaces (not withmetal) or your time will not be kept.Your net running time can only be measured if you step onthe contact mats laid out on the starting and finishing lines.Likewise, you must step on all mats laid out en route.Intermediate time checks – you will be disqualified if yourintermediate times are not recorded.The hire charges for the chip (6 euros) were paid upon regis-tration. If a chip is not returned after the event, an additional25 euros will be billed to your account. You must return your
undamaged chip by 5 p.m. (at the latest) on the day of theevent in the clothing drop-off area. For technical reasons, thestart-time recording for the ChampionChip will be switchedoff 15 minutes after the last start. Later starts are not possible.
Warm-Up
There will be an organised group warm-up to music between8:00 and 8:30 a.m. (block H). Stretching and loosening upwill help you to reach your running temperature and reducethe chance of injury.
Starting Block DivisionThe start will be divided into 8 designated blocks according tothe personal best times submitted. The letters A – H on yourrace number show which block you are to go to. All runnerswho are participating in their first marathon will be in thelast block. Please follow the helpers’ instructions to assure asmooth start.
PACEMAKERThere will be runners to help set the pace. They will be car-rying balloons and can be identified by their yellow shirtswith the texts:PACE 3:00, 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, 4:15, or 4:30

NEW The start for the runners and power walkers will takeplace at 9:00 a.m. at the “Kleiner Stern“, on both lanes of theboulevard “Straße des 17. Juni “.
Please note that Nordic Walking is not permittedat the marathon.
The wheelchair competitors will start at 8:35 a.m.and the hand cyclists at 8:43 a.m., also on the Straßedes 17. Juni.
Refreshment Points
All refreshment points will only be on the right-hand side,except for those between 5 – 15 km, which will be on bothsides. The refreshments at km approx. 9 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30and 36 will be available in the following order:
In addition there will be extra refreshment points at kilome-tres approx. 5 / 12 / 17,5 / 22,5 / 27,5 / 32,5 / 34,5 / 3840 and a Powerbar gel-point at 27 (subject to change:www.bmw-berlin-marathon.com/en/race-day/start). Drinkingwater in cups and water containers for dunking sponges willbe available at these points.
Please throw your empty cups to the side of the street so as
to not endanger any of your fellow competitors.
Make sure you keep drinking, especially if it is warm. Toiletswill be available at the end of each refreshment stand.
The organisers are doing their best to make the BMWBERLIN-MARATHON more environmental, especially withregard to a reduction of trash. Please help us out.

Medical Assistance
You will find medical assistance in the start/finish area andalong the course. First aid will be made available by ourmedical team, doctors on bikes, additional medical first aidteams, and by the fire department. Our medical network willbe everywhere. Please do not hesitate to contact our medicalpersonnel if you are having difficulties – we appreciate you
doing so. If you would like to phone in an emergency, pleaseask a spectator to immediately call the emergency number.
In case of emergency: call 112.
Please mention the key word “MARATHON“
Medical aid along the course
Up until 15 km there will mostly be mobile units on duty.They can be identified through the label „DOCTOR“ or
„MEDICAL SERVICE“.From 15 km to 36 km, there will be so-called accident as-sistance stations every 3 km. Medical assistance will beavailable every kilometre (on foot or by vehicle). From 36 kmto the finish, there will be accident assistant stations everykilometre.Each station will be manned with at least one doctor and will bemarked with a green cross (First Aid). The doctors on duty havethe right and the responsibility to remove any participants withsigns of injury or excessive strain from the race.If you require medical assistance, please walk to the next sta-
tion or contact our medical personnel on the course. If youhave to drop out due to an injury, you can wait for the bus atthe end of the field or ride the subway to the finish from 10a.m. to 3 p.m. for free. The race number is valid for travel, butonly for those who have dropped out.If you are concerned about the whereabouts of a runnerafter the finish, please call our hotline. This service will beavailable until 4:30 p.m. Please make sure that you have ex-act information about the missing person at hand and knowhis/her race number.

Massage
Starting at km 25, you can stop to get a massage every 5 ki-lometers. After the finish you find a big massage area. Pleasedon’t stay too long and let other runners get this service too.
Students from the Berlin schools of physiotherapy awaityou in the finish area for massages to loosen up your stiff muscles. They are there to help you, but remember thereare other runners who would like to enjoy their „helpinghands” too.
Use caution on the course!
No wheeled vehicles (cars, bikes, or motorcycles) will be al-lowed to accompany the runners along the course. It is notallowed to use stroller, roller skates, skateboards or otherwheeled devices (with the exception of wheelchairs and handcycles). Animals are also not allowed on the marathon course.
Headphones at the marathon: We would like to point out that the IAAF prohibits headphonesbeing worn during an athletics competition and may other-wise result in disqualification.
Use caution when passing!Please watch out for your fellow runners when you changelanes or approach a refreshment stand. Also be aware ofthe wheelchair racers on the course. Please take care not toendanger others or yourself.
It is not allowed to carry or use selfie-sticks for participantsof the marathon.
Video and Timekeeping control points
There are video control points on the course. Please makesure that your race number is clearly visible on your chestthroughout the entire race.
There are also timekeeping controls (approx. 5 km) on thecourse. You must run across all contact mats to prove that
you kept to the correct course – otherwise you will be dis-qualified.
Grandstands and Video Screen
Standing room-only grandstands will line both sides of thecourse before the finish, which are open to everyone. This isa great way to follow your friends and relatives on the largevideo screen when they cross the finish line.
Your marathon photo:
Photographers from our partner Marathonfoto will be positi-oned at various spots along the course to capture your parti-cipation in the 42nd BMW BERLINMARATHON. It is importantthat your race number is well visible on your chest in order tomatch the names to the numbers. After the race you can thenreview and order your photos online at www.marathonfoto.com by entering your last name and race number.
Finish
The finish is on Straße des 17. Juni in front of the Soviet Mo-nument and will remain open until 3:30 p.m. Your time will be
registered when you cross the finish line (the contact mats).

Pick up your clothing bag then.The clothing pick-up is only possible in the finish area un-til 4:00 p.m. upon presentation of your race number. Allclothing bags remaining will be at the lost and found boothuntil 5:00 p.m., or they can be picked from Monday on,October 1, at the organisational office at Hanns-Braun-Str./Adlerplatz, 14053 Berlin.
Showers
Showers with warm water will be available for you in a de-signated area.
Do not return to the finish area after you have pickedup your clothing and have showered. Please arrange tomeet with other runners outside of the finish area. Spec-tating will also not be permitted within the blocked offarea, so as not to hinder the event.
Spreequell Family reunion area
You will be able to meet up with your family, who understan-dably cannot be in the immediate finish area, in the familyreunion area in front of the Paul-Löbe-Haus, at the sign withthe first letter of your last name (see the map of the start/finish area on page 12 – 13).Spectator crossing at the finish area
It will only be possible to cross the marathon course in thefinish area at the special crossing at Pariser Platz. (See themap of the start/finish area on page 12 – 13) Please listen tothe instructions of the volunteers.
Results
Quick Certificate:Approx. 45 minutes after you cross the finish you can pick upyour preliminary results. The final and complete result listsand certificates for every participant who finished will be
sent out automatically in the beginning of December 2015.

In addition, the Berliner Mor-genpost newspaper will beprinting an extra insert with
a provisional list of results with thetimes of all of the participants of the 42 nd BMW BERLIN-MARATHON 2015 on Monday, September 28, 2015.
Medal Engraving:The booth for the pre-ordered engraving where you can haveyour medal engraved is located at the Brandenburg Gate(“Ebertstraße“) next to the booth for the quick certificates.The engraving must be done on race day.
Merchandising
Adidas Finisher shirt and other marathon souvenirs will beavailable for purchase on Sunday September 27, 2015 until3 p.m. at the Brandenburg Gate (“Ebertstraße“).
Marathon Party Running
All participants get their voucher for the party with their kitbag. All others pay 6,00 Euro.
The Marathon Party Skating will beginat 9 p.m. on Saturday, September 26 at the
Kosmos Club, Karl-Marx-Allee 131a, 10243 Berlin
The Marathon Party Running will beginat 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 27 at the
