The sheer number offailing units in the UK has left Local Authorities and Utilities facing a dauntingreplacement program.Wolseley has carefully chosen Wrekin as the supplier withthe best solution to solving manhole cover longevity. Incorporating manyinnovative and patented design features Wrekin has developed the Unitemanhole cover.

The Unite design was developed using the "Finite Element Analysis" to studyexactly what causes cover failure and to discover the most effective designto resist these causes.

The Unite cover is now widely recognised and is commonly specified by LocalAuthorities and Utilities.

D400 UtilityD400 HighwayThe Highway design incorporates several patented featuresthat have been proven to prolong the life of the manhole

cover assembly in high intensity trafficked areas. The Highway manhole designmeets all the recommendations put forward in the Highways Authorities DesignManual for Roads and Bridges HA104/02, which specifically highlights thedesign features that are incorporated in the Highway and Unite designs.

The Utility range is based upon the standard square framedmanhole cover design commonly used throughout the UK.

By using finite element analysis at the design stage Wrekin have been able tonot only improve the performance but also gain greater efficiencies inmanufacture. This has enabled Wrekin to provide a cost-effective productsuitable for all locations.
