Life is all about ‘’Work Hard. Have Fun. Make History’’. After graduating from NIT Jalandhar, I joined Polaris Financial Technology, BFSI Unit as a Consultant. It provided me the opportunity to improve the lives of people through the products and services that the company offers to different clients across India as well as abroad.

Post two months of working in Chennai, Hyderabad as Consultant, I was assigned a strategic role to Planned scheduling and sequencing of tasks in accordance with deadlines and priority, Ensured conformance to schedule and quality targets by proper execution of project activities for CITI Bank and RBI projects. Also during my involvement in my father’s tea plantation farms for eight months (Assam); I was the middleman in helping my father acquiring two new tea firms amid myriad hurdles and conflicts along with managing contract and ad-hoc workers of the tea farm. Those two experiences of great authority, responsibility and accountability instilled in me a sense of ownership of the area, helped me develop a long term result oriented approach, and improved my cross functional coordination skills across legal, finance, supply chain departments. I initiated workers alluring programs, sales campaigns, CSR activities and implemented ideas that simplified the process for the firm. My power of communication, motivation and building relationships on trust helped me manage the large and diverse vendor base. When we acquired two other farms, I had to ensure that there was least resistance from the potential bidding buyers of that area who had local sentiments attached to those farms. I assessed and identified the potential of expanding our business, farm sites, select vendors, propose, plan and execute sales of new tea farms. I tracked weekly and monthly sales trends, targeted competitors, upgraded facilities and services at our farms, ensured “Eliminate waste”, “Deliver on time” quality of service, implemented customer loyalty programs and acquisition activities to tap all available possible revenue generation avenues visible to me.

Post completion of 23 months at Polaris and tea farms, I felt the need to get a detailed idea of strategic and operations aspects of businesses. PGDIM from NITIE, Mumbai would enable me broaden my scope of performance.

The role of Operations Intern in Amazon would help me gain a first-hand experience and thorough knowledge of managing operational activities in the e-commerce industry across fulfillment centers, logistics, and customer and seller service. I can utilize tea sales and operations experience to determine short-term as well as long-term targets and improve performance of workers. My exposure to demographic and socio-economic challenges, management of different crises will enable me to manage supply chain issues pertaining to new geographies. I am passionate about getting work done through rapport and motivation, utilize cross functional coordination experience for working with team members and can use my understanding of consumer behavior and my obsession with service standard to improve customer satisfaction. I am self-driven and believe that growth is the only way forward for any business. E-commerce is the future of retail –I would like to contribute in the development of this business to the best of my capacity, deliver joy and value to customers and be a part of Amazon’s growth story in India.
