Community Giving CampaignDuring our 2013 Community Giving Campaign, we raised
a total of $2.1 million (thanks to an Ecolab Foundation
match) for programs such as United Way, Global Impact,
Ecolab’s Health and Wellness partners and other qualifying,
employee-designated organizations.
Culture of GivingEcolab employees are committed to improving the communities in which we work and live. Through
Ecolab Foundation-matched donations, volunteer opportunities and community leadership roles, our
employees are making a positive impact where it matters most.
Providing LeadershipCommunity Relations Councils (CRCs) in many of our U.S.
facilities support community needs and organize local volunteer
efforts. In 2013, CRC committees made grants totaling $700,000
to 501(c)(3) nonprofi t organizations eligible under Ecolab
Foundation guidelines in our focus areas of giving.

Restoring Our CommunitiesEcolab and our employees are dedicated to improving our communities. We participate in hands-on
volunteer opportunities to restore the environment and deploy Ecolab products to the frontline of
disaster relief efforts. These are just a few of the many ways we provide what’s essential to life, where
it’s needed most.

World Environment Day Ecolab partnered with The Nature Conservancy to restore
protected natural resource sites on World Environment Day.
A group of employees based in the Twin Cities visited the Pilot
Knob Nature Preserve where they worked to clear invasive
burdock from the prairie habitat.
“It felt like we made an impact, and I’ll defi nitely take advantage
of other volunteering opportunities in the future,” said Claire
Carlson, a media relations specialist at the St. Paul offi ce.
Teams from Naperville, Ill., Greensboro, N.C., and Sugar Land,
Texas, also participated in the inaugural World Environment
Day activities.
