Sanghi, in the presence of Shri Dependra Pathak, Director General of Police, A&N Islands and other Senior Officers of A&N Administration and A&N Police, flagged off 14 new vehicles for the Tourist Police Ecosystem of the Andaman and Nicobar Police. Set against the backdrop of the historic Cellular Jail, National Memorial, the ceremony witnessed the flag-off of 4 four-wheelers and 10 motorcycles which will be deployed across the Islands at various tourist spots. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary stated that various developmental works are being carried out in the Islands, the results of which will be visible in the days to come. The Chief Secretary mentioned that the cooperation of Police Department is laudable be it in combating corona virus, management of VVIP events or in organizing any other event. In his address, the DGP said that the Tourist Police Ecosystem was launched in 2018 to make the tourists visiting the Islands feel safe and secure. The launch of these vehicles is another attempt at making the tourists visiting the Islands feel more comfortable and safe, especially in view of the concerns regarding the pandemic COVID-19. The vehicles will also help assure tourists of the necessary provisions being made for their safety from the pandemic by the Police and Administration, and also act as means of enforcement of the necessary norms of social distancing, masks and hand hygiene. The vehicles are equipped with specialized communication systems and PA systems to make regular announcements, and all the staff deployed therein has been specially trained in Soft Skills to make sure they can interact and guide the tourists accordingly. Jal Shakti Minister launches 100-daycampaign to provide potable piped

water in Schools & Anganwadi CentresNew Delhi, Oct. 3 Jal Shakti Minister,Shri Gajendra SinghShekhawat yesterdaylaunched a 100-daycampaign to providepotable piped watersupply in Schools andAnganwadi Centres.This mission wasenvisaged by PrimeMinister, ShriNarendra Modi on 29thof last month, whilereleasing the'Margdarshika' forGram Panchayats andPaani Samitis forimplementation of JalJeevan Mission. ThePrime Minister hadappealed to the Statesto make best use ofthis campaign to ensureprovision of potablepiped water supply inthese public

institutions. Under the Jal JeevanMission States andUnion Territories are toensure that during thecampaign, GramSabhas are convened atthe earliest to pass aresolution for providingsafe water in allschools, AnganwadiCentres and otherpublic institutions inthe village in the next100 days. The objective of the scheme is to award interest subsidy tomeritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of notified minoritycommunities, so as to provide them better opportunities for higher education abroad andenhance their employability. The eligibility criteria for availing the scheme is that the student should have securedadmission in the approved courses at Masters, M.Phil or Ph.D levels abroad for thecourses viz. The drive wasundertaken in view ofpublic health, hygiene &cleanliness of the city. Inthis drive, a special teamconstituted fromSanitation wing, E&MDivision of PBMC &Police personnel fromPolice Station, Aberdeenand team of SanitaryInspectors headed by Sr.Sanitary Inspector &Police personnelinspected and collectedthe information of thepig rearing areas. In thedrive, around 8 stray pigs

were caught and shiftedto Brookshabad Pig Shedunder PBMC custody.The pig rear can claim &take their pig afterpayment of penalty. Residents can lodgecomplaints with thePBMC Control Room at03192-231179. Based onthe information providedby them, the teamswould launch operationsto catch stray animals.PBMC has appealed toits citizens to take the

total period of service spent continuously without any break. Further, as per

Circular No.45/1998-PW dated 19.09.2011 in the case of SSCT/DRM/

Adhoc/contractual workers the total period spent in each of the departments of

A&N Administration shall be counted irrespective of the department where they are

applying for regular appointment, provided the post is general in nature and it

doesn’t require any specific technical qualification, subject to primary condition

that at the time of their initial engagement as SSCT/Adhoc/Contract/DRM, these

employees were not overaged. The candidates covered under the said circulars are

also allowed to apply.

It is informed to the shareholders/members of the Consumers Co-operative Stores ltd (CCS LTD) that in accordance with the society’s Bye-law provision No. 9, 10 & 33, the process for verification/updation and preparation of a fresh list of eligible shareholders/members was commenced with publication of Notices/Press Releases in the local News paper ”The Daily Telegrams” from 17th March, 2018 to 2nd January, 2020. On the basis of the said verification, an updated list of eligible shareholders/members was prepared. Amidst country wide lockdown on account of COVID-19 pandemic, the Management of the society approached the Registrar of Coop. Societies to clarify whether general body meeting and election can be conducted with the updated list of eligible members. Upon this the Registrar of Cooperative Societies vide letter No. 10-1/2020/398 dated 19th June, 2020, has extended the tenure of the present Committee for a period of 3 months w.e.f. 28/06/2020 and directed to update the list of members by removal of the names of such members who have ceased to be eligible members by observing all codal formalities as provided under bye-law No. 9,10 & 33 of the Bye-laws of the society. In accordance with the direction contained in the above mentioned Order of the Registrar of Coop. Societies, the management has made a schedule for updation/verification of members list and extended the last date for verification/updation of members list upto 31st July, 2020. But due to the lockdown imposed in this UT during August, 2020 on account of COVID-19, the process of updation/verification could not be conducted as per schedule. So again the management has appraised the above situation to the Registrar of Coop. Societies and intimated its inability to conduct the election with in the extended period. On this the Registrar of Coop. Societies vide Order No.143 dated 28/09/2020 has extended the tenure of the present Management for a further period of 3 months w.e.f 28th Sept., 2020 and directed to complete the updation of the membership list as provided in the bye-laws of the society by removal of the names of such members who have ceased to be eligible for membership of the society on account of death or removal of residence from the limits prescribed in bye-law No.1. Accordingly, the last date for updation/verification of members list is extended upto 31st October, 2020.
