The Independence Day was celebrated with

joy and fervor on 15th August 2013, Thurs-

day at Smt. S. R. Patel Engineering College.

The day was marked with unfurling the Na-

tional Flag by the Institute Chairman Shri.

Rameshbhai H. Patel at 8:30 A.M.. After the

flag hoisting all the students and staff of-

fered their salute to the National Tri colour

and sung the National Anthem in its respect.

The college Principal, Dr. Ami H. Shah gave

an inspiring speech highlighting the national

values and the duties of the students towards

the Nation. The senior faculty and HOD of

a thought provoking speech on the real

meaning of Independence. A great level of

patriotism was reflected by the students and

the staff. On the occasion of this day a cam-

pus cleaning drive was organized, all the en-

thusiastic students and the whole SRPEC

family came forward in cleaning up the

whole campus. To provide a clean and ener-

getic ambience in the campus and to remain

in the harmony of nature a Tree plantation

event “Vasundhara-2013” was celebrated.

During which around 120 saplings were

planted by the students and staff of the col-

lege. The level of interest and enthusiasm of

each person on this occasion was praiseworthy.

Taking opportunity of this noble day, the win-

ners of various events organized under

“Pratibha-2013” were honored with the awards.

“Pratibha” was a week long event during which

students participated in various extra curricular

activities like, Debate competition, Documen-

tary Making, drawing, Model Making, Singing,

instrument recital etc. Respected Chairman Sir,

handed over the awards to the rank holders of

all the events. Later on arrangement of snacks

for refreshment was provided to one and all.
