As well offering a basic tool kit, the marshals at these designated points will be able to supply re-placement inner tubes and a track pump, so that you can maximise your training time in case of a puncture.
BUFF Whip CompThere will be a special prize for the best whip through the Scotland arch during Saturday training runs as judged by the crowd reac-tion at the wall and on the big screen. This is an informal competi-tion and is not compulsory.
Silverline Wall Ride CompAlso on Saturday training runs, Silverline will be giving a prize for the highest line on the Silverline Wall ride, as judged by the marshal. This is an informal competition and is not compulsory.

Travel See www.fortwilliamworldcup.co.ukAir TravelInverness is the nearest airport (104km) but both Edinburgh and Glasgow have extensive UK and International connections.
There are daily services to Glasgow, Prestwick (40 minutes south of Glasgow) and Edinburgh, with onward national connections. For enquiries and bookings Tel: 08457 505050.Websites: www.easyjet.com www.ryanair.com www.flybe.com www.bmibaby.com www.ba.com
RoadIf you are coming from anywhere in England or Wales, head for Scotland. If you are travelling up the East side of the country (M1, A1) you are going to end up in Edinburgh. Then head for Perth and follow the A9 north as far as Dalwhinnie where you follow the A889 to Laggan, the A86 to Spean Bridge and then the A82 to Fort William. Watch your speed on the A9 from Perth to Dalwhinnie. There are average speed cameras along the entire length of this section of road.
Coming up the West side of the country (M6, M74) from the south, take the M8 through Glasgow and then the M898 over the Erskine Bridge to Dumbarton. Follow the A82 beside Loch Lomond to Crian-larich and Tyndrum before crossing Rannoch Moor and descending to the Atlantic coast and Fort William through the pass of Glencoe.
Remember there are no motorways north of Perth and Glasgow, so plan extra time for your journey. Please also note there may be roadworks on sections of the A82 and the A9, with traffic lights that may cause delays. At least the views are spectacular.
If you are using Sat Nav, remember that a single postcode can cover a wide area in the Highlands so dont just rely on where it tells you to go. Maps and road signs can help. The actual postcode for Nevis Range ski area is PH33 6SQ.
Travel by road from outside the UKThere are a number of ways of crossing the English Channel or the North Sea. The route involving the least driving on busy UK roads (especially in England) is from Amsterdam to Newcastle. Amsterdam Newcastle crossings www.dfdsseaways.co.ukFurther South, there are crossings to Hull and Harwich. In both cases you must head for the A1, North to Edinburgh.Rotterdam and Zeebrugge Hull www.poferries.comHook of Holland Harwich www.stenaline.co.ukEsbjerg Harwich www.dfdsseaways.co.uk
The shortest and most frequent crossings are by ferry or tunnel from Calais or Dieppe to Dover, Newhaven or Folkstone. This gives you the longest drive, up through most of mainland UK. Head for the M20, then go north on the M25, heading towards the M1, then A1 (East Coast route) or turn off the M1 onto the M6 and then M74 (West Coast route).

Fort WilliamFort William is on the North West coast of Scotland, set amongst some of Britains highest and most spectacular mountain scenery that meets the Atlantic sea with a series of deep, penetrating sea lochs. It has an industrial past, based on aluminium smelting and forestry but tourism is now the most important part of the local economy. It has a population of about 10,000 with a total population of the Lochaber area of 20,000 which means a population density of 4.6 persons per square kilometre, so the area is still very sparsely inhabited. The event takes place at the Nevis Range ski area, some 9km to the north of the town, on the road to Inverness. The Highlands and Islands are home to Scotlands national language Gaelic so its only fitting that youll see Gaelic signs and refer-ences at the World Cup and in Fort William.
