Welcome
If you are new to Northreach or visiting with us today please join us for a
tea or coffee and chat after the service in our Café. Don’t forget to pick
up an information pack from the foyer.
Kidsz Church runs during school terms at the same time as the morning
service in the Hall, for children aged 1 to grade 7. Register your child/ren
at the desk inside the door of the Hall.
Youth activities, for young people from grade 7 to 17 years run each
Friday night from 6.30 to 9.30pm during school terms here at Northreach.
The Nursery is located at the back of the Church (behind the glass
window) for feeding mothers and parents with restless children.
The service is telecast in this room.
Restrooms are located at the back of the Church auditorium. Please note
that the toilets in the Kidsz Hall are for CHILDREN ONLY on Sunday mornings.
You can now view the Northreach Network News on our website. Just go
to www.northreach.org.au and click on the date under Latest News.
As we try to decrease on our paper usage, we encourage you to read the
NNN online and just pick up a paper copy of the Connection Card
available at the table in the foyer for completion on Sundays.
As we support global missions you are welcome to purchase homemade
jams, relishes and chutneys from the Money for Jam shelf in the foyer. All
proceeds go to support Missions.
General Offering and Mission envelopes are available at the Information
Desk together with envelopes to place an order for a CD of the recorded
sermons from today’s Church service and prior services.
We are convinced as a church that God directs and empowers spiritual
growth, but that growth happens through the Holy Spirit when we put in
place healthy structures like Bible reading and study, accountability,
prayer and Christian community. All of these things are enabled and
encouraged in small groups. We encourage you to join a Life Group.
Tick the box on the Connection Card today.
The Life Group booklet is available in the Information Pack in the foyer.
You are encouraged to join with others for prayer on:
Sundays @ 8.30am in the Welcome Lounge
Thursday @ 6.30am in the Welcome Lounge
For prayer requests please email: [email protected]
It’s great to have you here at Northreach this morning.
We welcome you here and pray your soul will be refreshed as you
gather with other believers in this place to worship God today.
A couple of different but powerful ‘statements’ came across my path this
week that got my attention because they are so true …
When YOU FORGIVE, you don’t change the past …
You change the future!
Faith is the DELIBERATE CONFIDENCE in the character of God
whose ways you may not understand at the time.
They are powerful words aren’t they?
What makes us think we can ever do these things in our own strength?
We aren’t expected to! We are asked to rely on the Spirit of God who dwells
in us, to lead us. One step at a time. One choice at a time. We can’t see the
big picture, and we’re not expected to. We are simply called to do as He
would have us do in every new situation that comes our way, whether we
understand or not. Our confidence is in God and His faithfulness, always.
We can’t GROW the attributes of the Spirit, Love, Joy, Peace, Patience,
Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self Control by our own human efforts. They just
don’t come naturally to us, we need to deliberately choose to die to self when
walking through circumstances where we could choose to be very human.
As Paul said to the Galatian church in Galatians ch.3:3 … “After starting your
Christian lives in the Spirit why are you now trying to become perfect by your
own human effort?”
Let’s prayerfully take the gift of each day as it comes.
Keep walking in the Spirit.
Keep staying close to God who promises He is always near to us.
Keep spending time in and being obedient to The Word, following
the direction and wisdom it gives us for everyday life and
relationships.
Keep believing God is who He says He is and that He is in control,
even if I don’t understand the circumstances around me.
Be blessed as you follow Him this week.
Blessings in abundance!

The Worship Team is looking for more people to join the team.
Come along this Thursday night, 20 August to our practise,
bring your instrument, tune your voice and get involved. If you don’t want to
be up front on stage, you may like to come along and investigate what is
involved in operating the sound desk or the words computer, both vital roles.
The Worship Team is gearing up and are very keen to welcome new
members. Have a chat to me today (Aaron Mealing), send me a text on
0417 702 766 or just come along at 7.30pm this Thursday.
