Think about it:

Our natural tendency with sin is to not accept responsibility, cover it up, and hide from God.

Memory Verse- Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin;

and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”

Your Thoughts Satan is the one who sinned in the

beginning. Sin originated with him. I John 3:8 says, “ He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning.” According to Revelation 12:9, God cast Satan out of Heaven with one third of the angels who sinned with him. Read Ezekiel 28:11-19 for details into what happened. Now Sa tan focuses h i s attention on God’s first created couple. He deceives Eve and she eats from the one forbidden tree in the garden, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Adam also disobeys and eats of this tree. Certain death is now their future. Ezekiel 18:4 says, “the soul that sinneth, it shall die.” Adam and Eve are in a mess. They have sinned and attempted to cover it up. They make aprons from fig leaves to cover their nakedness and shame. Next they run and hide from the presence of God. This is our natural tendency with sin. Cover it up and hide from the One who already knows about it. This couple is full of shame and guilty and are in the face of death. God does not leave them this way. Read Genesis 3:20-24.

Promise of Life

THE BIBLE WAY TO HEAVEN

Realize That God Loves You. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).

The Bible Says That All Men Are Sinners. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory to God.” (Romans 3:23).

God’s Word Also Says That Sin Must Be Paid For. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

The Good News Is That Christ Paid for Our Sins. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8).

We Must Personally Pray and Receive Christ by Faith as Our Personal Saviour. The Bible Says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13).

Your Thoughts

Think about it:

The shedding of blood is the only way that sin can be forgiven. This is

God’s way.

Think About it:

Your belief about Genesis is the foundation for everything else.

God’s Promise of Life Genesis 3:20 tells us that, “Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.” Why would he call her that? He could have said the mother of all dying. Death was their punishment. Adam called her the mother of all living because he put faith in God’s promise in Genesis 3:15, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” Read Genesis 3:16. In these two verses, God promised life, a Saviour, and victory over the enemy Satan. The phrase “her seed” is all life even unto this very day. It includes you and me. “His heel” refers to Jesus Christ, the promised Saviour that would come.

We find that Adam placed simple faith in God’s promise of life even in the face of certain death. Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that, “but without faith it is impossible to please him.” It is God that honors simple faith in His Word and promises.

God must judge sin. Just as there is no way around death there is no way around the fact that a just God must judge sin. In order for God to cover the sin of Adam and Eve, the blood of an animal was shed. The coverings that Adam and Eve made would not work. These human efforts could not cover the tragic consequences of sin. God’s mercy stepped in to kill an animal and cover their sin. Why on earth would an animal have to die? What does blood have to do with sin? Hebrews 9:22 tell us, “and without shedding of blood is no remission.” This is God’s way.

“The Foundation of it all” A Study in Genesis 1-11 Lesson 16

In Genesis 3:22-24, God drives Adam and Eve out of the garden of Eden so they could not become an immortal sinner by eating of the tree of life. Man would have to respond to God by his own free-will. Jesus Christ died for the sins of the whole world. Each person must choose to believe on Him or not. We have all sinned just like Adam and Eve. Read Romans 3:23 and 5:8. According to John 3:16-18, those who have not believe are condemned already. The sentence for sin is in the present. We are already found guilty. The covering for our sin is believing on Jesus Christ. It is believing that you are a sinner and that He died and rose again for you. The Bible says in Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” What have you done with Jesus Christ, the covering for your sin? Have you believed on Him for salvation? This is the foundation of it all right here in Genesis. Without Genesis chapter three, there is no fall of mankind and no need for Jesus Christ. This is why it is attacked so hard. If you cannot believe that Genesis three is completely true then your belief about salvation in John chapter three will be shaky.

God’s Method for This Life

An innocent animal that had done no wrong had to die for the actions of Adam and Eve. This is the foundation for the Gospel. Jesus Christ, innocent and sinless, died on a cross for all the sins of everyone in the world. The innocent for the guilty. It is here in Genesis that we find the reason, promise, and necessity of Jesus Christ coming to die on the cross. Read Romans 5:12-21. Adam brought death and Jesus Christ brought life.Man’s Response to This Life
