The Tstud™ offers a complete thermal break

through the stud, cripples, headers, top and bottom plates, as well as all the way through the entire

The Thermal Break Story

Page 2: 160708 Tstud Thermal Break Story draft

This home was builtusing 2x6’s at 16” oncenter with an R19fiberglass batt ofinsulation in thecavity, and was builtto the appropriatebuilding code inMinnesota.

These 4 photos are of the same wall section with 4 different “lens’s” to show different information. Youcan see in all of them; the studs, top plate, “4 corner pocket” framing in the outside corner, and a lot ofthermal transfer. All the dark lines are the framing members and this owner is losing considerable dollarsin heating and cooling expense. Concerning is the area to the right of the window.

The Tstud™ WallAssembly solvesthis thermaltransfer of heatfrom the outsideto the inside insouthern regions, and the heat fromthe inside to theoutside innorthern climates.

This is the same house when viewed through a thermal imaging camera from the outside. The colorsshould all be virtually the same color. This shows that all structures that are constructed without athermal break, lose considerable dollars through all of the framing members.

This is whythe Tstud™wasinvented. Toput thoselost utilitydollars backin yourpocket.

Not just forthe life ofthe homewhile youlive there, but for theentire lifecycle of thehome, whichcould be 400years!

We built a prototype Tiny House to prove that we virtually stopped the ability of a thermal transfer, asyou can see in the photo to the right. You can not see any of the studs, cripples, headers, nor can yousee any roof framing members or the floor. To prove the point, we even used the Tstud™ for the floorframing to stop the cold from coming through the floor, and for all of the roof framing, to stop the heatfrom the suns rays, from heating up the attic space. No transfer of heat can be seen. We even heated upthe Tiny House to 95 degrees, to try to force a thermal transfer.

#ScoreTstud™!

The only transfer of heat thatwas registered was through thewindows and the doors.

The 2x6 on top has an R Value of 6.88 and offers atransfer of your hard earned dollars from traveling fromone side to the other. Whether heating or cooling!

The Tstud™ on the bottom has an impressive R Value of 21.25, a 309% increase, and virtually stops the ability of any heat to transfer, making the exterior walls over 13% more energy efficient, thus saving you money every month! See the next slide.

Using a meat thermometer set for beef, we decided to do a bit of redneck testing byplacing a commercial iron on the top of a Tstud™ and set it to not turn off. In 1.5 hours, thetop of the Tstud™ was at 192 degrees and the bottom wood member, had not risen evenone degree.

Next we will replacethe iron with dry ice.
