Who organises the

London Visit?

There are slots available for the

School to arrange their own visit

as part of the tour. We can also assist

in arranging visits such as the trips to the

local Media Office, Greater London Authority,

amongst many other celebrated institutions.

HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT

What are the ticketing

arrangements if the students

want to see musicals?

We strongly suggest the students to

book in advance via the musical website.

What are the arrangements for the visit to

Parliament or House of Lords?

Because the tour group mostly consists of

foreign nationals, special permission will need

to be organised in advance, with an invitation

of a Parliament member or a Lord to enter

the building. The visit will be arranged during

the recess or weekends for Parliament.

What is your suggestion if we do

not take the breakfast or dinner

option?

The students have access to the

well equipped kitchen located in every flat.

Pots, pans and cutlery are all provided.

For breakfast, the students can go to

cafes and fast food chains near the

accommodation. Students can also buy food

at the local convenient stores and at the

Oriental store next to the train station.

For dinner, the students can either cook at

their apartment or eat locally or in Central

London. We provide a companion service

for the students wanting to travel to Central

London for dinner or entertainment. The

escort train service can be provided.

Who will accompany the

Anglo-Chinese tour?

Be rest assured that at least one

member of Anglo-Chinese staff will

accompany the tour every day. We currently

have two members of staff available: One is

Chinese speaking with a Tour Guide License

issued by the Hong Kong Travel Industry Council.

The other is a local English speaking staff with

years of experience working with tour groups.

What are the working hours

of a coach driver?

By UK Law, a coach driver can

only drive 9 hours per day and

must take a break every 6 days. Therefore,

to reduce the cost we suggest the itinerary

not to exceed 9 hours of coach use.

Who is a Blue Badge Guide?

Why quote for a Blue

Badge Guide and not a

UK Local Tour Guide?

A Blue Badge Guide is a local UK tour guide

who has been examined and awarded their

status by the Institute of Tourist Guiding. A

Blue Badge Guide has granted access to the

most popular tourist attractions and must

take examinations before they are allowed to

guide tour groups. They are the only tour guide

licensed to provide tours to Windsor Castle,

Shakespeare’s Birth Place and London coach trip.

Can we pay the same price if

we do not want to pre-book

in advance for the optional

ticket tourist attractions?

All of our quoted prices are based on pre-book

and group discount. Many of them require a

group number of 15+. We highly recommend

pre-booking to avoid disappointment.

Why are tips inclusive in

the package price?

In the UK, the general practice is to

include tips for drivers and tour guides

at the quoted price. Tips are handed to the driver

everyday by the tour guide. The recommended

tips per day are £4 (GBP) per person

Can you arrange more

educational visits?

We can certainly look at more

options such as more university

departmental visits. Visits to governmental

organisations and private companies need to

be booked in advanced so we suggest you give

us a list of where you would like to visit and

we can conduct our research in good time.

Why is there more than one

accommodation option?

What are the differences?

The main difference is that

one is a group accommodation

whereas the other is a 4* hotel.

In the Court Hill Centre, our group will be staying

in bigger rooms with bunk beds and sometimes

with 4-6 people sharing a room. The toilet and

shower facilities will be shared. It is similar to those

holiday camp sites in Hong Kong. Please note that

for this option there are no single rooms available.

Hotels will provide double occupancy

rooms, including Free WiFi and the use of

the hotel leisure facilities. Single Rooms

are available for an additional charge.

Why is dinner and breakfast

provided in Oxford and

not in London?

It’s easier as a group to have meals

provided by the accommodation;

this is very popular for groups

travelling outside London. Many towns

struggle to cater for a large group therefore

hotels and other accommodations are used to

cater for them. Also transport is difficult if we

allow our group to dine out and to be picked

up later to return to our accommodation.

So for the Oxford tour, we have pre-arranged

dinner and breakfast as part of the accommodation

package. The main restriction is the coach driver

can work for no more than 9 hours a day. If we

do not eat in, the driver will exceed his driving

hours and we will need to pay an additional fee.

Is it necessary to hire a Blue Badge

Guide for this part of the tour?

Yes, we strongly recommend the

group to hire a Blue Badge Guide

as we will be visiting many British

landmarks - Blue Badge Guides have

detailed, in-depth knowledge of Oxford’s highlights.
