"CELEBRITY STYLE" LUNCHEON MAKE-OVERS SAT SEP 9 | NOON–3pm Seated Lunch | Whimsical Chic | Mount Vernon |$100 The Ivy Hotel's fashionable restaurant, Magdalena, provides a stunning backdrop for this late-summer soiree hosted by Terri Turner and Robbye Apperson. Learn from top celebrity makeup artist Reggie Wells as he demonstrates his incredible talents and skills by doing two make-overs, while regaling guests with vignettes from his travels as Oprah Winfrey's makeup artist. A sumptuous seated lunch, and Reggie's star-studded beauty-basics, are sure to make this an old fashioned afternoon of good, classy fun.

PROGRESSIVE PARTY WITH 4-PLAY! SAT SEP 9 | 6–9pm Traveling Food | Roaming Attire | Bolton Hill | $75 A very progressive dinner through four of Bolton Hill’s grande dame rowhouses. Artists Kini Collins and Laura Vernon Russell teach you how a hammer can transform flowers into works of art with delicate colors and textures (it’s a great stress reliever, too!). Explore Susan Gould and Bo Willse’s 13 acre garden and surrounding woodland paths in Monkton. Historian Taylor Branch continues the conversation by highlighting the far-reaching impact of immigration on America’s democratic heritage.

Tour Minas’ studio and see what’s on his easel these days. ART, ARCHITECTURE, & POETRY SUN NOV 12, 11am - 1pm Brunch | Poetic Attire | Roland Park | $125 Ilene and Michael Salcman have devoted their lives to art, poetry, and medicine. Enjoy their art collection, spanning from 1960 to just yesterday (Joan Mitchell to Gerhard Richter and Ken Okiishi), when you join our hosts for brunch in their art deco-meets-federalist 1937 home designed by Palmer and Lamden. Ilene and Michael take you on the same exclusive tour that has been reserved for high power arts groups like the docents of the Hirshhorn Museum. As a bonus, Michael, winner of the 2015 Sinclair Poetry Prize, reads from his latest collection of poems, A Prague Spring, Before & After.

ON THE ROAD WITH JOYCE J.
