    Part of beautiful Heidelberg factory in Germany. Theywere very hospitable and gracious to Paul when thejr dis-covered he was a printer.

    On top of Vesuvious in 1972. On leftis chair lift. Martha waited for usbelow for some reason, "las a grey,dreary day, so view was poor.

    Paul and Bobby on night jaunt just before ship sailedfrom Naples. T!Te wandered into wonderful old castle anda night guard showed us .around for a small fee. Part ofit is being- used for some city functions, but they lackthe money to improve it.

    The west wall up of new warehouse.Generator was suspended by crane onweekends to prevent meddling withit, and stealing. The walls wereerected in sections, after beingpoured on the ground. A band ofsteel around each section was weldedto the next section after being putupright.

    Part of deck buffet...servedmost days at lunch, we pref-erred our table and service.

    Seaplanes used for inter-island transport. Some were old WW II PBY's. Tookoff every few minutes. St. Thomas.Martha and I near Bluebeard*s castleon St. Thomas. Beautiful tropical mountains and blue sea.

    Waterfall on a back road out ofRio. Country gets very primi-tive and wild beyond here.Statue of Christ lit up at night. One of mostbeautiful views in world from up there. Reachedby steep winding road and by train.

    Brazilian Ford. Also millions of Volkswagens. Brazil lets no foreign-madecars in, so make all their own. VolBs-wagen evidentally started right afterthe war when thousands of German refugees came here.

    Train that goes to Christ statue; Wetried to catch it, but ran at wrongtime of day, and we took a taxi up-.

    Several ships of Brazilian navy viewedfrom launch. Saw one carrier, but destroyers looked obsolete and very old.

    Inside gigantic sports stadium in Rio.Resembled the Astrodome, but top open.Supposed to be biggest in world.Tour bus at Rio. Very hot there, but noair-conditioning. Hot season is December, January and February.

    Unique tractor and cart in use in Rio.Saw some elsewhere, but this used inpark.

    Native mother in Dakar carryingbaby in pouch on back. Saw manylike this. Babies seemed happy.

    Old Spanish destroyer from turn ofthe century, moored in Canary Islands and used to generate electricity for city of Teneriffe..Banana plants, Canary Islands...although 800 miles away, is part ofSpain...lush and tropical, and favorite holiday spot with Europeans.
