ENTRIES, FEES AND PARKING Entries close for Suffolk Horse Classes on Thursday 9th April 2020 NO LATE ENTRIES FOR SUFFOLK HORSE CLASSES Entries close for Light Horse Classes on Thursday 30th April 2020 LATE ENTRIES will be accepted for Light Horse Classes (see below) FEES AND PARKING All British Showjumping entries £15.00 unless otherwise stated. All other entries £10 Members get a £2.00 reduction. Late entries for all Light Horse classes will be accepted at an additional £3 up to one hour before published time of class. Donation of £3.00 per exhibitor as a contribution for First Aid services. Medical cover in accordance with British Showjumping Rule 73.8e. Cars accompanying competitors in lorries, park in the lorry park at their own risk, at a charge of £10 per car, payable at the gate. Members are entitled to free entry with parking in the forward area. Disabled parking is in the forward area. CUPS and TROPHIES: Cup winners are requested to enter the Grand Parade. For reasons of security, the Woodbridge Horse Show Committee would prefer to retain all trophies and cups after presentation and will undertake the engraving as appropriate, for a small charge, payable in advance. Competitors will be able to have a photograph of themselves taken with the cup or trophy. HARD HATS: Correctly secured Skull Caps/Riding Hats Nos. All PAS015,VG1, ASTM F1163 04a onwards, SNELL E2001, AS/NZS 3838 2003 onwards, MUST be worn by riders at all times when mounted. British Showjumping helmet guidelines can be found at British Showjumping Rule 101. Classes 85 and 98 allow Adult riders only, to wear alternative riding hats entirely at their own risk. AFFILIATIONS This show is affiliated to the :- British Driving Society; British Showjumping; British Skewbald and Piebald Association; Equifest; Heavy Horse Society; Lusitano Breed Society of Great Britain; Ponies Association (UK); Senior Showing and Dressage Ltd; Side Saddle Association; Suffolk Horse Society and The Showing Register(TSR) Equifest qualifiers: These will take place at the East of England Showground on the 19th – 22nd August 2020. The two highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify. Ponies Association (UK). 1st, 2nd & 3rd placed competitors in the appropriate classes will qualify for the Gold Medal Series at the Ponies (UK) Summer Classic to take place on Sunday 16th August 2020 at Addington Equestrian Centre. Qualification cards are not given out in the ring, however results will be verified by the office. TSR Showing Finals - This show is a qualifier for the 2020 TSR NAF Five Star Showing Finals. Qualify and enter ANY of the Finals: Central, East Anglia, North West, North East, South East, South, Wales & SouthWest or Scottish. You Do Not have to be a TSR member to qualify or enter a final. The Rider/Handler qualifies and can enter any horse/pony in any number of Finals! TSR NAF Five Star Riders Finals - 1st & 2nd riders qualify and will receive a qualification flyer in the ring. TSR NAF Five Star In Hand Finals - The two highest placed Handlers with a TSR In Hand Card will qualify in any In Hand class. Handlers MUST have their cards signed in the ring by the judge/steward, cards are available FREE from the TSR website. The Suffolk Horse Society is indebted to the Horserace Betting Levy Board for its grant, which enables the Society to give premiums and grants to stallion owners. This show is a qualifier for the Supreme Suffolk Horse Championship. The horse that qualifies will be eligible for the final competition, which will take place at the Suffolk Spectacular to be held on 13thSeptember 2020 at Marks Hall, Coggeshall, Essex, CO6 1TG

This show is affiliated to the Suffolk Horse Society (SHS) and classes 1-19 are qualifiers with championship points for annually awarded trophies and for the Supreme Suffolk Horse Championship. All entries for In Hand classes must be registered in or eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number and full pedigree name including prefix or affix. All foals must be eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud Book. Both the sire and the dam must be registered and entered in the pedigree section of the UK Suffolk Stud Book. All stallions must be registered in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number, stallion licence number and full pedigree name including prefix or affix. Discretionary entry to a stallion class may be allowed in cases where a licence is pending but not yet issued.

RIDDEN HEAVY HORSE

Judge: Tba Ring 5 1330 Class 34 British Ridden Heavy Horse Society Kilmannan Championship Equifest Qualifier Open to horses 4 years old and over that are registered in the main British stud books of the Shire, Clydesdale, Suffolk or Percheron Society at the time of qualification and must be entered in the name and ownership they are registered in. The highest placed registered Shire, Clydesdale, Suffolk or Percheron in an affiliated ridden heavy horse class to qualify for the BRHHS Championship, qualification to go down no lower than third place and there has to be three horses forward in the ring for the qualifier to be awarded. Riders of stallions must be 16 years or over. Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the Ridden Heavy Horse Championship held at Equifest on Saturday August 22nd 2020. Prizes: 1st £10, 2nd £6, 3rd £4 This class will be run in accordance with the British Ridden Heavy Horse Society . Entries should be on the Light Horse Classes Entry Form, not the Suffolk Horse Entry Form.

Method of Judging 1. Horses/ponies will enter the ring individually and jump a course of obstacles designed to produce a maximum of 10 jumping efforts. Course builders are recommended to avoid fences with a related distance. 2. Each jumping effort will be marked out of 10, at the judge’s discretion. 3. There is no set penalty for a pole down or run out but three refusals will result in elimination. 4. A fall of a horse or rider will result in elimination. 5. There will be no mark awarded for conformation or manners, but a mark will be awarded for the overall impression at the completion of each round. 6. In the event of a tie, the overall impression mark will determine final placing. Should there still be an equality of marks, the jumping marks will be taken into consideration- the comparison beginning with fence one and continuing thereafter until a result is achieved. Class 62 Working Hunter Pony/Horse 4 years old and over. Rider any age. Fences max 75 cm Prizes: 1st £10, 2nd £8, 3rd £6, 4th £4. Class 63 Ponies Association (UK) Working Hunter Training Stakes Gold Medal Series. Plaited and unplaited Working Hunter Horse/Pony Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over. Rider any age. PRIVATE DRIVING All driving classes are open to animals 4 years old and over, driven to suitable vehicles. Each turnout must have a competent adult groom/passenger in attendance at all times. those who show in private driving classes. Open to horses, ponies, donkeys and mules, singles, pairs and multiples. The vehicle must be capable of seating two or more persons. Traditional and non-traditional vehicles are permitted.

To be judged on 15% vehicle suitability, fit and cleanliness, 15% harness suitability, fit and cleanliness, 70% driver, groom, horse/pony way of going and suitability of family pleasure animal. Competitors may be asked to do specific movements as directed by the judge. The Five Winds Perpetual Challenge Trophy (Presented by Mr and Mrs H Jenkins) Prizes: 1st £10, 2nd £8, 3rd £6, 4th £4 Class 151 Novice Turnout

DOG AGILITY CLASSES If you are bringing your dog with you to Woodbridge Horse show why not have a go at our FUN Dog Agility Course. Help and encouragement will be offered and if you don’t have a dog with you, but would still like a go then please ask as we may be able to hire you a friendly dog at a little extra charge. Agility Equipment is provided courtesy of Paws of Parham Dog Agility Club. Running from 10am-12pm and 1-3pm. Rosettes will be awarded at 3pm. There will be a charge for each go – all funds are going to be donated to a Charity nominated by the organisers of the dog agility classes and will be specified on the day.

BYE LAWS

1. All Suffolk horses must be entered under the registered name of the bona fide owner or be hired by the exhibitor. All Suffolk horses must be from Suffolk parents registered in the UK Suffolk Horse Society Stud Book. Pedigree section.

2. All entries for In Hand classes must be registered in or eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number and full

pedigree name including prefix or affix. All foals must be eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud Book. Both the sire and the dam must be registered and entered in the pedigree section of the UK Suffolk Stud Book. All stallions must be registered in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number, stallion licence number and full pedigree name including prefix or affix. Discretionary entry to a stallion class may be allowed in cases where a licence is pending but not yet issued.

3. No stallion may be exhibited unless wearing full stallion harness. Every stallion must be safely restrained while he is on the Showground and the decision of the Show Director in the matter of the handling of stallions will be final.

4. Nomination entries for Suffolk Horses will not be accepted.

5. Prize schedules and entry forms may be obtained from the Secretary and no horse will be entered until such a form is received by the Entries Secretary and fees paid.

6. That fees for the entry be received the Secretary on or before 9th April 2020 as shown in this schedule and entries received after that date and on the day will be at a fee to be decided annually by the Show Committee. No late entries for Suffolk horses. Entry fees are not returnable. If, however, the Society shall refuse an entry, cancel a class or classes or the Show, entry fees may be refunded at the discretion of the Council. It may refuse an entry or cancel any entry already accepted without giving any reason for doing so and reserves the right to refuse entries from any person who is under exclusion or suspension by any breed, livestock or show organisation. Any fees refunded shall be accepted by the exhibitor or intending exhibitor in full satisfaction of all claims against the Society.

7. The public will be admitted to the showground at rates to be decided annually by the Show Committee. Car parking is free. Cars accompanying lorries may park in the Lorry Park at their own risk, at a cost of £10 per car, payable at the gate.

8. The decision of the judges is final and they will be instructed not to award a prize in classes in which the animals exhibited do not possess sufficient merit. No second prize will be awarded in any class unless there are three or more exhibitors. No third prize will be awarded unless there are five exhibitors, and no fourth prize will be awarded unless there are eight exhibitors, except on special recommendation. If entries do not reach 20 or over, the fifth prize will not be awarded.

9. Servants in charge of stock shall be subject to the orders of the Show Director and Stewards of the Show.

10. Standing in a turnout vehicle by any person either while the vehicle is stationary or while it is being driven is not permitted on the Showground. Vehicles must be driven from either a sitting position or from the ground.

11. Any exhibitor shall be liable to forfeit £100 if any animal sent by him shall be labouring under an infectious or contagious disease.

12. In all cases of dispute a protest in writing, accompanied by a deposit of £5, shall be delivered to the Secretary before the close of the Show, otherwise the protest cannot be entertained. The Secretary shall immediately give notice of the protest to the Director and Chairman of the Show and the Stewards concerned, who shall if possible decide the case before the conclusion of the Show. Otherwise it will be referred to the Committee. In either case, the decision shall be final. The deposit of £5 shall be forfeited to the Society. When a protest is considered, all parties to the dispute shall be notified.

13. The Society, its Officers or Servants will not be responsible for, or accountable to, any person whatsoever for any damage or loss to the property of any person whatsoever or for any accident or injury, fatal or otherwise, or for any disease, damage or loss that may occur to any person whilst upon the Showground or car parks or whilst entering or leaving the same. The Society, its Officers

or Servants shall not in any way be responsible or accountable for any accident, loss or damage that may happen (from any cause or circumstances whatsoever) to exhibitors or their servants or agents, or to any exhibit or any vehicle conveying any exhibit, or any article or thing containing or relating to any exhibit or any other property brought into the Showground or for anything else in connection with or arising out of or attributable to the Society’s Show. Exhibitors or their servants or agents shall be solely responsible for any consequential or other loss, injury or damage done to or occasioned by or arising from any animal or article exhibited by them and shall indemnify the Society against all legal or other proceedings, claims and costs arising therefrom. Exhibitors or their servants or agents should always be satisfied that the correct and appropriate restraining method and equipment is provided for use by animal handlers. Exhibitors must insure against fire and other appropriate risks not only as regards their own property but also in respect of any third party claim.

14. If a competitor enters two classes and times of the events clash, the competitor may claim a refund of the entry fee in respect of the class not participated in.

15. HARD HATS: Correctly secured Skull Caps/Riding Hats Nos. All PAS015,VG1, ASTM F1163 04a onwards, SNELL E2001, AS/NZS 3838 2003 onwards, MUST be worn by riders at all times when mounted. Helmets worn for British Showjumping classes must comply with British Showjumping Rule 101

16. ‘Go Pros’ or other similar recording or camera devices must not be worn by exhibitors whilst on the

showground and must not be mounted on either animals or equipment.

17. All cups and trophies for competition which are presented by or through the Woodbridge Horse Show Society are perpetual and will be held by the winner for one year only. Copies of the Rules and Regulations may be obtained from the Secretary.

LOST CHILDREN: Children who become separated from their parents or carers should be taken immediately to the Woodbridge Horse Show Secretary’s office and a Woodbridge Horse Show Committee member present informed.
