FLAMES 2016-17 PLAYER BIOSmatchup notesNOTES AND ANECDOTES - LIBERTY VS. STETSON

• Liberty continues its fi nal regular-season homestand at the Vines Center in search of its fi rst-ever victory over Stetson at the facility. The Hatt ers are 2-0 when facing the Lady Flames in Lynchburg. Stetson and FGCU are the only two ASUN teams Liberty has not defeated at the Vines Center.

• Saturday's game could provide a potential preview for the ASUN Championship quarterfi nals. If the tournament be-gan today, No. 6 seed Stetson would travel to No. 3 seed Liberty for a quarterfi nal matchup. However, only 2.5 games currently separate No. 2 seed North Alabama from No. 7 seed Kennesaw State with four dates of regular-season competition remaining.

• Both teams are trending in the right direction. Liberty has won back-to-back games and three of its last four outings. Meanwhile, Stetson is 4-2 since its Jan. 25 loss to Liberty.

• Liberty (+5.7) and Stetson (+5.2) rank fi rst and second in the ASUN for rebound margin. Liberty has outrebounded the Hatt ers during all three meetings over the last two sea-sons, including a 39-29 advantage in DeLand last month.

• Both teams have relied on youth. Two freshmen (Audrey Clark and Asia Todd) are currently starting for the Lady Flames, while freshmen Kimia Carter and Tippy Robertson have both been regular starters for the Hatt ers. Carter is a four-time ASUN Freshman of the Week.

LAST MEETING WITH STETSONJAN. 25, 2020LIBERTY 57, STETSON 48DELAND, FLA. (EDMUNDS CENTER)

• Liberty's defense limited Stetson to 31 points during the fi -nal three quarters and 34 percent (16-of-47) shooting for the afternoon. As a result, the visiting Lady Flames posted their fi rst-ever victory over the Hatt ers.

• Ashtyn Baker scored a team-high 16 points for Liberty, while Keyen Green added 14 points and 12 rebounds. Her work on the glass helped the Lady Flames win the rebounding batt le, 39-29.

• Kimia Carter paced three Hatt ers in double fi gures with 15 points, knocking down all three of her att empts from be-yond the arc.

HOME SWEET HOME

• After Saturday, Liberty only has one home game remaining on the regular-season schedule for its 30th and fi nal season at the Vines Center.

• Despite its 5-5 record in home games thus far in 2019-20, Liberty has won 79 percent of its home games at the Vines Center all-time, including 83 percent under Carey Green.

• Liberty will welcome a number of alumni and past coaches back to Lynchburg on Saturday to help celebrate the end of an era at the Vines Center.

WHAT'S AT STAKE?

• With a win on Saturday, Liberty would move into a tie for second place in the ASUN standings with three games re-maining.

• Liberty is currently one of four ASUN teams with either fi ve or six conference losses. Likely, only three of those four teams will emerge with top-four seeds and the opportunity to host an ASUN quarterfi nal game.

• The Lady Flames need to win three of their fi nal four regu-lar-season games to fi nish with 10+ conference victories for the 21st consecutive season. The streak began during Carey Green's fi rst season as head coach (1999-2000), when Lib-erty went 12-2 in the Big South.

FUN FACTS FROM LAST SATURDAY'S GAME VS. NJIT

• Ashtyn Baker scored 17 points during the third quarter, helping expand Liberty's lead from seven to 17. Her off ensive outburst set a program record for most points in a quarter, eclipsing the 16 points Emily Lytle tallied during the fi rst quarter versus Lipscomb on Feb. 12, 2019.

• Liberty never trailed during the game, leading from start to fi nish for the fi rst time during ASUN play this season.

• The Lady Flames' lead reached 25 points during the fourth quarter, equaling their largest advantage of the season. Lib-erty also led by 25 points at Hampton on Dec. 14.

• Liberty improved to 7-3 during Saturday games this season. Half of the Lady Flames' 14 victories in 2019-20 have come on Saturday.
