“Yokogawa Bridge Works Ltd.” , was the former name of YBC and was founded as a pioneer in the market of steel bridge construction by Dr. Tamisuke Yokogawa in 1907. It has been a leading company in the steel bridge market, and has been involved in the construction of major infrastructure works in Japan and other countries for over 100 years. These include prestige projects such as Akashi Bridge, Kap Shui Mun Bridge, Tatara Bridge and Stonecutters Bridge.

Yokogawa Bridge Holdings Corp. (YBHD) was established in August 2007 in order to further involve the group companies integrated expertise and resources gained in their long histories.

We have been keeping the pioneer spirit and policy stressing the importance on research and development. Our business started from steel bridge construction, and has extended into the markets of architecture, bridge retrofit, environment and civil works encompassing all areas of infrastructure.

We reinvigorated our 100 year sustained corporate policy of “involvement in infrastructure projects based on long-term vision of management” , and decided for the next 100 years the new policy to be “The Next Perspective”, to widen our business scope. We will apply this to new global projects providing expertise and resources of group companies.

We, YBHD, as a major Asian company, will participate in valuable infrastructure projects together with our global partners in order to bridge to the next 100 years of our history.
