STATISTICS/WEEKLY RELEASESThe MW will post updated statistics to the Conference website no later than the morning following every game. The MW Players of the Week and the weekly press notes will be made available every Monday. You may obtain this information either on the Conference website or via email.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEKMountain West Players of the Week will be released every Monday from September 4 - November 27. Nominations are submitted by the instiutional sports information offices and the winners are selected by the MW staff. Weekly award winners are selected for offense, defense and special teams.

AWARDS AND HONORSThe league champion will be based on Conference play. The annual individual awards will be voted on by each of the 12 head coaches and selected members of the media. Following is a list of regular season awards that will be presented: • Regular Season Team Champion • Coach of the Year • Offensive Player of the Year • Defensive Player of the Year • Special Teams Player of the Year • Freshman of the Year • All-Conference, First and Second Team (11 offensive players by position, 11 defensive players by position, 1 place kicker, 1 punter, 1 special teams player)

BOISE STATE’S AUTONOMOUS 5 SUCCESSBoise State has defeated an Autonomous 5 institution in five of six seasons since joining the Mountain West. This year, the Broncos travel to Washington State (Sept. 9) and host Virginia (Sept. 22).

Since 2010, BSU has compiled an 11-6 (.647) record against current Autonomous 5 programs. The Broncos have defeated Arizona, Arizona State, Georgia, Oregon State, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Washington State.

JOSH ALLEN ATTENTIONWyoming junior quarterback Josh Allen is one of the nation’s top quarterbacks heading into the 2017 season, and he has the national interest to accompany the talent.

After the 2017 NFL Draft, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter said of Allen, “one personnel director told me this weekend, you can put it in the books, Josh Allen will be the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft next year.”

If Allen were selected with the top pick, the Mountain West would have the most No. 1 overall selections among Group of 5 conferences.

JOHN URSUA’S BIG DAYHawai‘i sophomore WR John Ursua caught 12 passes for 272 yards at UMass on Aug. 26. This is the fourth-most receiving yards in program history and fourth-best in Mountain West annals. Ursua’s 272 receiving yards are the most by a MW pass-catcher since Thomas Sperbeck’s (Boise State) 281 yards on Nov. 14, 2015.

According to Pro Football Focus, Ursua caught all 12 passes from the slot.

During the 2017 college football season, through a partnership with Stadium, the

Mountain West will have six games air exclusively on Facebook, a platform that

has more than 100 million video views daily. This is Facebook’s first-ever Mountain

West package.

The six-game package features four nonconference contests, including in-state

rivalry New Mexico State at New Mexico on Saturday, Sept. 9 and two Conference

showdowns. Wyoming and Josh Allen, who is one of the top quarterbacks in the

country, will be featured twice on Facebook. The two-time Mountain West defend-

ing champion San Diego State Aztecs opened the Facebook MW package against

UC Davis on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 5:30 p.m. PT.
