1971 Cessna 172L Available Navy Region Southwest Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department is accepting bids for a 1971 Cessna 172L owned by the Monterey Navy Flying Club/Naval Postgraduate School MWR Department. The plane, which is housed at Monterey Peninsula Airport, will be sold to the highest bidder, “as is, where is, no warranties, no guarantees.” Minimum accepted bid is $14,000. Certified check or cash only. All bids final. NOTE: The aircraft is being sold as a “project aircraft” due to a prop strike. See below for details.

Additional notes on aircraft condition: The aircraft propeller struck a taxi light, slightly damaging one propeller blade tip. The pilot was unaware of the incident and the aircraft was flown for about 1.5 hours without incident. The propeller has been replaced. Crankshaft run-out has been measured at under 0.003 inches. The aircraft appears flyable with a ferry permit.
