NORTHWEST STANDARD is published by the
Pacific Northwest Region of the Cadillac &
LaSalle Club. The purpose of this club is to
exchange information, encourage the
maintenance, preservation and restoration of
Cadillac and LaSalle Automobiles & to promote
social fellowship & fun among it’s members.
2017 marks the 40th Anniversary of our Region’s re-organization in 1977. Back then, 10 members met at Glenn Mounger’s home in Magnolia and put our $10 each on the coffee table and called the Pacific Northwest Region active after 11 years of inactivity. Originally chartered in 1966, the club never got an organized foothold until Glenn organized Cadillac LaSalle meets at Gasworks park in 1976 & 1977 and Virginia Houser started calling folks off the sign in sheets. By December of 1977, enough members showed interest to create and organization and the rest is, as they say, History.
Our annual Henry Leland party is coming up on the 19th so make sure you get your reservations in to Jerry Leighton and I look forward to seeing all of you who can attend.
Also: DUE ARE DUE! SEE THE RENEWAL FORM ON PAGE 11 OF THIS ISSUE. DUES ARE DUE BY THE END OF MARCH.
On the cover is the Eldorado Coupe.
“ It looks to be exctly what it is: the
world’s most elegant personal car.
Even more glamorous for 1972.
With a number of design innova-
tions, highlighted by massive new
grille and two dual hood stripes.
Here is the only luxury car with both
front-wheel drive and an 8.2 litre V-
8 engine, the world’s largest pro-
duction passenger engine. Lamp
monitors, variable-ratio ower steer-
ing and Automatic level control are
standard. And you can order a Dual
Comfort front seat as well as Track Master, Cadilla’s skid control braking system. From its
jewel-like standup crest to its beautifully beveled rear deck, this is motoring pleasure of the
first magnitude. From the manual for 1972

I am including a few Pictures from our PNWCLC Club
Ttour to Las Vegas Last April 2016. It was an amaz-
ingly beautiful tour with the weather changes,
mountains and cloud formations.
There was always something going on at the con-
vention as far as activities. In addition to Garage,
Shop, Museum, Park & Business tours we had the
Board Meeting & gathering of the Cadillac Queens.
Plus Vegas always has it’s own excitement. Joni

An exceptional opportunity on your choice of prestigious tracks. V-Performance Lab covers a wide range of driving techniques and experiences including, but not limited to, oversteering, slalom, and track sector training. Cadillac will offer 3 full-day sessions at each of the two locations: Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut and Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
Take your V-Series from the left lane to the raceway and experience ultimate performance. V-Academy is an exclusive opportunity to test the motorsport pedigrees of the CTS-V and ATS-V on one of the nation’s most demanding racetracks, Spring Mountain Motor Resort and Country Club. With 640-hp in the CTS-V and 464-hp in the ATS-V, the program is designed to assist V-Series owners in mastering their vehicle’s immense power and capabilities, while expanding their driving skillset. Cadillac offers complementary en-rollment in V-Performance Academy with the purchase of every new 2017 V-Series vehicle.1 After you take delivery of your ATS-V or CTS-V, you will receive a V-Performance Academy welcome package in the mail containing information on how to enroll.
Individualized instruction, instant feedback. The V-Academy curriculum relies on small group training led by world-class drivers to ensure that participants receive focused coaching and attention during activities like the Skid Pad, Slalom and Steering Exercises. Cadillac’s available Performance Data Recorder (PDR) provides real-time information—including video footage—from your run the moment you step off the track. This footage is then used by the V Academy instructors to analyze, examine and improve your on-track performance.
