PART TO BE INSTALLED 1. Fuel Baffle float NOTE : The baffle pick-up has an integrated fuel sensor on models that are equipped with a fuel gauge. 1. Pick-up tube 2. Fuel sensor 3. Baffle pick-up Disconnect BLACK negative cable from battery, then RED positive cable. WARNING : Always disconnect battery cables exactly in the specified order, BLACK negative cable first. Electrolyte or fuel vapors can be present in the engine compart- ment and a spark might ignite them. Empty fuel tank. WARNING : Fuel is flammable and explo- sive under certain conditions. Always work in a well ventilated area. Do not smoke or allow open flames or sparks in the vicinity. Al- ways wipe off any fuel spillage from the water- craft. All Models Except HX Remove storage basket from watercraft. On GTS and GTI models (1995 GTX), remove vent tube and fuel filter. Disconnect filler neck hose from fuel tank. Remove retaining strap from fuel tank and move tank forward. Remove hoses from baffle pick-up paying atten- tion to PROPERLY MARK THEM. Disconnect fuel sensor wiring harness (if applica- ble). HX Model Only

Pull down left vent tube.

Cut locking tie retaining fuel hoses to tie-mount.

1. Cut locking tie

Loosen lower clamp of baffle pick-up adapter andpull out baffle from fuel tank.

All Models

Push inward on the 3 clips at the base of the baf-fle in order to remove the filter. Pry base off usinga small slotted screwdriver (if necessary).Remove old fuel float from baffle.Install new plastic fuel float no. 1.Ensure the rounded surface of the float is installedtoward the outside of the baffle.

Parts installation is essentially the reverse of re-moval. Pay attention to the following.Install baffle into fuel tank and push it until it sitson fuel tank neck. Install clamp and torque bothclamps to 3 N•m (27 lbf•in).

HX Model Only

Make sure to align notch of baffle pick-up with themark on the fuel tank.

Pressure test the fuel system. Engine leak test kitis now available for watercraft (P/N 295 500 352)

WARNING : Whenever doing any type ofrepair on watercraft or if any components

of the fuel system are disconnected, a pressuretest must be done before starting engine. En-sure to verify fuel line ends for damage. Al-ways cut damaged end before reinstallation.
