INTRODUCTION

The Power DVC Woofers are 10", 12" & 15" low frequency drivers withdual 4 ohm voice coils. The Power DVC woofers were designed for useprimarily in small sealed & small ported enclosures. By utilizing thelatest materials and construction techniques, we are able to offer aspeaker with high output at low frequencies while requiring a minimumof operating space.

Building an EnclosureTo work properly, the walls of the enclosure must be rigid and not flexwhen subjected to the high pressures generated by the speaker'soperation. For optimum performance, we recommend using 3/4"MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) and internal bracing. The enclo-sure should be glued together and secured with nails or screws. MDFis porous; therefore, it is suggested to also seal the outside walls withpolyurethane.

Calculating VolumeCalculating volume is merely a matter of measuring the dimensionsin inches and using the formula:

If two facing sides are of uneven length, add them together and divideby two to take the average. Using this number will give you thevolume without the necessity of calculating the box in sections andadding the sections together. The thickness of the baffle materialreduces the internal volume so this must be subtracted from theoutside dimensions to determine the internal volume. The speakeritself also reduces the internal volume. The amount of air displacedby each model is listed on the specification sheet and should also besubtracted from the gross volume calculation.

Subwoofer CrossoversThere are two operational types of crossovers, passive and active.Passive crossovers (coils or inductors) are placed on the speaker leadsbetween the amplifier and speaker. An active crossover is an elec-tronic filter which separates the audio signal fed to different amplifi-ers. For optimum subwoofer performance, we recommend using anactive 80-100Hz low-pass crossover at 12dB/octave.

Wiring ConfigurationsThree configurations for connecting speakers to an amplifier areSeries, Parallel, and Series-Parallel wiring. A Series configurationconsists of two or more speakers wired in an string (end to end). AParallel configuration consists of two or more speakers wired withthe common terminals connected across each other. A Series-Parallel configuration is a combination of both methods. Determinewhich method will be compatible with your amplifier.

INTRODUCCÍON

Los woofers Power DVC son una gama completa de drivers de bajafrecuéncia que comprenden diámetros de 10" a 15". Diseñada para ofrecerla máxima calidad, los Woofers ofrecen al entusiasta principiante ensistemas de car audio, la oportunidad para disfrutar de un bajo sólido en lasbajas frecuéncias. Nuestros ingenieros han seleccionado materiales ytécnicas para la construcción de nuestros altavoces con el objetivo deofrecer características y confianza comparable a otros altavoces vendidosmuch más caros.

Para un buen funcionamiento las paredes del recinto han de ser rigidas ysin flexión a altas presiones de aire. Recomendamos usar un espesor de 1.9cm de conglomerado de alta densidad o fibra de media densidad. Si elrecinto es muy grande es necessario reforzarlo internamente. Las juntasdeben ser encoladas y aseguradas con tornillos o grapas. Internamente lasjuntas deben ser selladas con silicona para prevenir las fugas de aire. La colapara madera es la mejor opción. Debido a la porosidad del conglomeradode alta densidad y la fibra es recomendable sellar exteriormente la caja conpoliuretano.

Para calcular el volumen sólo se han de medir las dimensiones en centimetrosy aplicar la fórmula:

Si dos caras opuestas son de diferente tamaño, súmelas y divida el total pordos para obtener el promedio. Usando esta técnica se ahorrara el cálculopor secciones. El espesor del material con que está construida la caja reduceel volumen interno, de manera quer ha de restarse de las dimensionesexteriores para determinar el volumen interior. La cantidad de aire queocupa cada modelo viene especificado en la hoja de caracteristicas ytambién debe sustraerse para obtener el volumen neto interior.

INTRODUCTION

Les woofers Power DVC sont une gamme complète de haut-parleurs degraves allant de 25 à 38 cm et disponibles en 4Ωx2. En utilisant lestechniques et les matériaux de construction les plus récents, nous sommesparvenus à construire un haut-parleur fournissant un rendement élevé dansles graves tout en requérant un volume opérationnel minimum.

Pour fonctionner convenablement les parois du caisson doivent être rigideslorsqu'elles sont soumises aux hautes pressions dues au fonctionnement duhaut-parleur. Nous vous recommandons d'utiliser des panneaux de boisaggloméré à haute ou moyenne densité de particules de type “MDF”. Cespanneaux sont disponibles dans la plupart des magasins de bricolage. Pourun caisson de grand volume il est recommandé de placer des renforts àl'intérieur du caisson. Les différents côtés devront être collés (colle à bois)et vissés (ou éventuellement cloués). Il est recommandé de mettre un jointde silicone dans les arêtes internes du caisson afin d'éviter les fuites d'air.Du fait de la porosité des matériaux que nous vous conseillons il estpréférable de recouvrir l'extérieur du caisson avec du polyuréthane.

CONSTRUIRE UN CAISSON

CALCUL DU VOLUME

On calcule le volume en mesurant la dimension de chaque côté et enutilisant la formule suivante:

Si les due côtés qui se font face n'ont pas la même longueur, additionnez leset divisez le résultat par deux pour obtenir la moyenne des deux longueurs.Utilisez le nombre ainsi obtenu dans la formule pour déterminer le litrage.Cette méthode permet d'obtenir le volume du caisson sans devoir faire decalculs compliqués de section de volume. L'épaisseur du matériau dont estfait le caisson réduit le volume interne de celui-ci. Lorsqu'on mesure lescôtés du caisson il ne faut donc pas oublier d'oter des mesures l'epaisseurdu matériau. Le haut-parleur lui-même diminue le volume interne ducaisson. Le volume d'air déplacé par chaque modèle de haut-parleur estrepris dans les spécifications techniques et doit également être soustrait duvolume total.

Um das Gehäuse so präzise wie möglich zu bauen, sollten dieGehäusewände sehr steif und luftundurchlässig sein, um dem entsehendenLuftdruck des Lautsprechers standhalten zu können. Wir empfehlen 1,9 cmmittelverdichtete Faserplatte (MDF), die in den meisten Baumärktenangeboten wird. Bei einem gröβeren Gehäuse sollten Sie Versteifungendurch Holzbalken montieren. Diese sollten – wie auch das gesamteGehäuse – mit Holzleim geklebt und verschraubt oder vernagelt sein. Umeine höhere Dichte zu erreichen, empfiehlt es sich, die Kanten undVerschraubungen mit Silikon abzudichten und das Gehäuse von innen miteiner Hohlraumversiegelung zu behandeln.

DER GEHÄUSE BAU

Zur Volumen-Berechung benötigen sie die genauen Maβe und Dimensionenin Zentimetern.

Gehäuse-Volumen =

Sollten zwei gegenüberliegende Seiten ungleich lang sein, so können sie dieMaβe zusammen rechnen und durch zwei dividieren um den Durchschnittzu erhalten. Dies macht Ihnen die Berechnung leichter und Sie müssen dasGehäuse nicht in Sektionen berechnen, die Sie danach wieder mühseligzusammen zählen müssen. Die Materialstärke beeinfluβt natürlich auch dasInnen-Volumen, so muss für eine präzise Berechnung die Materialstärkevon Auβen-Volumen abgezogen werden. Der Lautsprecher verringertebenfalls das Innen-Volumen, auch er sollte natürlich heraus gerechnetwerden. Jedes Lautsprecher-Volumen ist unter “Specifications” genauaufgelistet.

Impiegando le piú aggiomate tecnologie e materiali, siamo ingrado di offrire altoparlanti che possono riprodurre un'elevata pressionesonora alle basse frequenze mantenendo i volumi di impiego assolutamenteridotti.

Per ottenere le prestazioni massime, le pareti della cassa devono essererigide e non flettere sotto la sollecitaxione della elevata pressione generatadal woofer. Noi raccomandiamo l'impiego di MDF con uno spessoreminimo di 19 mm, materiale facilmente reperibile in tutte le falegnamerle.Per casse di dimensioni molto grandi é indispensabile prevedere deirinforzi interni. Le giunture devono essere incollate e fissate con viti ochiodi in abbondanza. Intermanmente le giunture devono essere siliconateper impedire trafilati d'aria. Anche la colla da legno funziona bene. Essendoil MDF un materiale poroso si consiglia di sigillare l'esterno con materialipoliuretanici.

Calcolare il volume é essenzialmente solo un problema di misurazionedelle dimensioni in centimetri della cassa e di applicazione della formula:

Se due pareti parallele sono di dimensioni diverse (prisma), semplicementesommatele e dividete il risulto per due. Impiegando il risultato ottenutopotete calcolare il volume senza dividere la cassa i sezioni. Lo spessore dellegno riduce il volume interno, per cui é necessario sottrario dalle dimensioniesterne. Anche il volume dell'altoparlante stesso riduce il volume dellacassa e deve essere sottratto. Il volume che ciascun altoparlante contribuiscea togliere dalla cassa é indicato nelle tabelle con le specifiche. ITA
