Course Rooms and Events The 19th Annual EPA Region 6 Stormwater Workshop will be held in the Hilton Palacio del Rio, 200 S Alamo, San Antonio, Texas in various conference rooms on the second and twenty-second floors of the hotel. Hotel Reservations Our room block at the Hilton-Palacio Del Rio has sold out early.

• A second room block has been established at the “Emily Morgan Hotel – The Hotel of the Alamo”, with the same discounted rates. The Emily Morgan Hotel is two blocks from the conference location. It is encouraged to reserve your room early as this rate will only be available until the room block is sold out.

Special Events, cont’d EPA Integrated Planning Workshop Wednesday, September 20 @ 8:30 am-10:30 am Room: La Vista F – 22nd Floor Description: Municipalities can use an integrated planning process to meet Clean Water Act permit requirements and improve water quality conditions within the watershed while utilizing stormwater as a resource. This workshop will outline the process to determine if integrated planning is appropriate for your community and the steps that are necessary to develop an integrated plan. The workshop will utilize two panels for exploring the feasibility and applicability of the integrated planning concept and process – a regulatory panel comprised of state and federal permitting authorities and a panel of local government representatives who are utilizing integrated planning concepts to further community goals Exhibitor Reception Tuesday, September 19 @ 5:00 pm-7:00 pm The Exhibitor Reception is a great way to network, meet colleagues, and visit with exhibitors providing services, equipment, and technologies relevant to your community’s stormwater management plan.

Presented by: The San Antonio River Authority (SARA), the City of San Antonio, and other Region 6 partners. Monday, September 18 @ 8:00 am-5:00 pm Room: La Vista AB – 22nd Floor Description: In this all-day workshop, participants will learn from examples throughout and beyond Region 6 where incentives have been utilized, under various conditions including regulatory and voluntary, to make the economic case for LID. Some examples include offering development code incentives, grants, and rebates, and calculating the Sustainable Return on investment (SROI) to account for the multiple benefits LID BMPs provide and how LID affects a community’s resilience. Presenters will also address a common question facing many communities: Once LID BMPs are mandated, do you need to incent?

Stormwater 101 Classes Storm Water Construction Inspections 101 Presented by: Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), Bexar County Public Works & San Antonio Water System (SAWS) Monday, September 18 @8 00 am-12:00 pm Room: Salon Del Rey A – 2nd Floor Description: The various agencies will present on the TPDES Construction General Permit and how it relates to local, county and state construction projects. Bexar County, the steps necessary to permit construction activities, common reasons why approval is delayed, expectations in the field and enforcement actions. TCEQ, overview of the Construction General Permit with emphasis on Common Plan of Development, Primary vs Secondary Operators and Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone requirements. The San Antonio River Authority will lead a tour of local Low Impact

Development projects that have been completed in the last 3 years.

This is open to LID certification course participants as well as all other conference participants.

Field Trip B:

Storm Water Construction Inspections 101:

Visit construction projects along the San Antonio River where temporary and permanent Stormwater BMPs

are installed to comply with SWPPP and the City of San Antonio’s LID

BMP UDC mandatory and voluntary requirements.**

*Be sure to bring your PPE.

Field Trip C:

Industrial Inspections 101: Visit an Automobile salvage yard and a food production facility to see how they comply with the requirements

of the TPDES permit as well as City of San Antonio Wastewater and

Business license requirements. *Be sure to bring your PPE.

*Separate waiver required for the food production facility.

Field Trip D:

TMDL/Trash BMP Tour: Tour the City of San Antonio’s Tunnel Operation System on a barge, where

reuse water and trash screens keep the San Antonio River Walk trash free and at a constant level year round. The tour will also include a visit to the SA Zoo UV Plant

and a monitoring site where the San Antonio River Authority monitors

stormwater in the downtown section of the San Antonio River.
