Welcome to the Age of Creativity Festival 2019We are delighted to welcome you to the 3rd Age of Creativity Festival, celebrating creative older audiences, participants, volunteers and artists across England for the whole month of May. Our theme this year is ‘intergenerational’, so many events are designed for diverse audiences, as well as more tailored events across the art-forms. We aim to inspire and delight you with an eclectic mix of opportunities, as well as provide training to support delivery partners to develop their local year-round offer.

To find out more about the Festival visit www.ageofcreativity.co.uk/festival, join us @ageofcreativity on social media or contact your local Age UK.

Age of Creativity Festival ConferenceWhitworth Art Gallery, Manchester

2 May

The day will inspire discussions between professionals from a wide range of sectors on three key ideas:

1. What if…we lived in a truly Age Friendly world?

2. What if…you could be an emerging artist at any age?

3. What if… artists became activists against ageism?

The outcome of the event will be shared widely through our networks and social media throughout May. For more information about the event visit www.voluntaryarts.org

The Age of Creativity Festival is a great celebration of a fantastic concept. Put simply, more and more older people are seeking out opportunities to engage with cultural and creative activities, and more research pointing to the really positive impact this engagement has on the wellbeing of older people is emerging. Led by the new health secretary, the Government also recognises the benefits this all brings, and Age UK is keen to orchestrate and advocate the work. Music and dance are widely popular, but there is a vast range of other opportunities on offer. The Festival provides a platform to celebrate and showcase these activities.

For more information about intergenerational creativity and other inspirational items linking older people and creative activities go to www.ageofcreativity.co.uk

The Age of Creativity Festival is kindly supported by Arts Council of England, Baring Foundation,Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, Age UK and Age UK Oxfordshire and by many local and national partners.
