Grading and Related Matters for the International Industrial/Aca-demic Leadership Program (II/ALE)

1. 20% – Attendance and class notes (one-page summary per 3-hour session in “Tracks of Learning” note-sheet)

2. 20% – Industrial trip notes (one-page summary per company visiting)3. 60% – Project performance

a. Performance and Final reports will be evaluated by the supervising faculty* of the project. (Please provide a final report by 19th July) (35%)*Each participant may get a different grade, depending on the individual effort and contribution to the project. Besides providing guidance for the student’s project, the supervising faculty might provide rehearsal help for the student’s pre-sentations and are recommended to be present when the team is making their fi-nal presentation.

b. Final presentation** (65%, including content, presentation, Q&A) Each member must present Related files (PowerPoint, etc.) should be submitted before 4 pm on 19th July. Final presentations (Two sessions will be held simultaneously) will be judged

by three faculty members. Each project team will have 15 minutes to present and another 5 minutes for Q&A. Each team member is expected to have equal presentation time, using English as the official language for presentations. Fol-lowing the presentations, three teams will be chosen for best performance. Small gifts will be given to the students in these three teams.

The presentation time is 1:30 pm (we will update you as to any changes to this schedule.) on Friday, 20th July, in Conference Rooms 117 and B12 of the Engineering Building (see schedule and room assignments above). It is very important for you to arrive prior to each presentation, so schedule your time ac-cordingly.

c. The following papers should be submitted: Final Presentation PowerPoint slide handouts (print two sided, two slides per

Program Survey

There is a Program Survey form to be filled out at the end of the program. All partici-pants should complete and return it by 19th July. Students will be scored only after completing the survey. 各位須於 7/19前填寫並繳交教學評量問卷表，確實完成評鑑表後會留有紀錄並評分。Field Trips

7. 對於此次參訪之建議2. Every student will be asked to join all visiting activities and hand in reports on

the next day to the mentor of each project group and the mentor will hand in col-lected reports to the Office of the College of Engineering by 4pm of the day.

每位修課同學都須參加全部工廠參觀活動並於隔天統一繳交報告給各專題助教，再由助教於當天 4pm前將收集後的報告統一交至工學院辦公室。

3. Please wear the program uniform, buses will wait for all participants in front of Chung Cheng Hall and depart punctually for the field trip. Please get onto the bus according to your assigned group, e.g. Groups A1~A7 will get into Bus A etc.

Do’s and Don'ts at CYCU生活公約Dormitory 宿舍 : Dormitory introduction 宿舍簡介

For each room, there are 4 available living spaces, one shower room, and one toilet.每個房間有四個床位、一間乾濕分離式衛浴設備。

*Kitchen (1st floor only): Refrigerator, Microwave Oven, and Rice Cooker廚房(僅 1F 設置)：冰箱、微波爐、電鍋。*Laundry Room: Coin Operated Washing Machines and a Dryer are located on every even-numbered floor of the building.洗衣間：於偶數樓層設置投幣式洗衣機及烘衣機。*Water Room: Hot and Cold Water Dispenser and Laundry Sink are located on every odd-numbered floor of the building.茶水間：於單數樓層設置飲水機及洗衣槽。

1. Each room has its own key, so every student will get one key for their room.If you lose it, you will have to pay a fine (NT$300).每間房間配有一組鎖，每位學生皆須保管好自己的鑰匙，若遺失則須賠償台幣 300 元。

2. Each student will have their own security card for the main entrance of the dormitory, If you lose it, you have to pay a fine (NT$300). Please USE the security card to open the door and DO NOT try to block the gate to keep open.大門進出皆須使用門禁卡，每位學生皆須妥善保管，若遺失則須賠償台幣300 元。請使用門禁卡感應，請勿推、拉等其他方式強行進入。

3. We have a curfew of 11 pm, so students are required to return to the dorm before 11 pm (special permissions are given to those with legitimate reason)門禁為晚間十一點，請於晚間十一點前回到宿舍。(若有特殊情況，請事先告知)

4. The main entrance will be closed every evening at 11 pm.大門於每天晚間十一點關閉。*International Student Ambassadors CYCU will take roll-call at 11pm.*中原大學國際親善大使將協助點名。

5. You have to keep your room clean at all times, and take out your garbage between 10pm - 11pm from Sunday to Friday. Please sort your garbage and put it in the right bins.每位學生必須維護房間清潔，垃圾請於週日至週五晚間 10 點-11 點拿至垃圾場，並請做好垃圾分類。

6. When you are not in your room, please turn off all electrical appliances (A/C and fan etc.). For saving energy, please set up your A/C temperature no lower then 26 .℃離開宿舍時，請隨手關閉電器用品(冷氣、電風扇等相關用品)。請將冷氣溫度設定在 26度以節約能源。*We will conduct a room check every morning.*中原大學國際親善大使將每天早上檢查電器用品是否關閉。

Step 1 : Open a new page, it might pretty slow but we need to wait until all page shows up.→ find “ toolbar ”(T), which on the up-right corner,→ choose “ Internet Option ”on the bottom.

Introduction of Cultural Trip 文化之旅簡介 (Subject to changed!)

(Only for Guest Students)

1. Sun Moon LakeSun Moon Lake (Chinese: 日月潭; pinyin: Rìyuè tán) is a lake in Yuchi Township, Nantou County, Taiwan. It is the largest body of water in Taiwan. The area around the lake is home to the Thao tribe, one of aboriginal tribes of Taiwan. Sun Moon Lake surrounds a tiny island called Lalu. The east side of the lake resembles a sun while the west side resembles a moon, hence the name.

Formosan Aboriginal Culture VillageThe Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village (Chinese: 九族文化村 ; pinyin: Jiǔzú Wénhuà Cūn) is an amusement park in Yuchi Township, Nantou County, Taiwan which has been in operation since 1986. It is distinctive for its Formosan aborigi-nal culture theme. The park contains the tallest free-fall ride in Taiwan as well as Taiwan's largest European gardens and bell tower.

3. National Center for Traditional ArtsThe National Center for Traditional Arts (Chinese: 國立傳統藝術中心 ) or also called Center for Traditional Arts is located by the river bank of Dongshan River in Wujie Township, Yilan County, Taiwan.

The center's total area is 24 hectares. The goal of the center is overall planning, supporting the related research, promoting, preserving, and teaching the traditional arts, and also redefining, renovating, and developing the traditional arts. The park itself has become one of the most important tourist spots in Yilan.

4. i-Cake MuseumThe ox-tongue-shaped Yilan Biscuit is a local pastry of Yilan and thinnest biscuit in the world. Merely 0.1 cm in thickness, it is as light as a piece of paper and per-vious to light. But no, Yilan Biscuit is not made from the tongue of an ox and has nothing to do with the animal, either.

5. Luodong Night MarketThe Luodong Night Market (Chinese: 羅東夜市; pinyin: Luódōng Yèshì) is a night market in Luodong Township, Yilan County, Taiwan. It is one of the biggest and most crowded night market in Taiwan.

The night market offers local snacks and fashionable shops. Local snacks range from mutton herbal soup, iced tapioca with red bean stuffed, rice noddle thick soup and Yilan specialties, such as ox-tongue-shaped pastry, smoked duckling etc.
