1. Field Ticket Overview1.1. Field Ticket IntroductionAnyone who provides a service in their business knows how important it is to manage the time you spend providing services. Improperly recording services can return in money loss in the company or losing a customer, because simple service was not reported correctly.

Fully integrated with Dynamics 365 Business Central, the ODT Field Ticket functionality has been added to the Business Manager role centers, which provides you with a service focused interface that works from one database. ODT Field Ticket extends the power of Dynamics 365 Business Central by providing you a service where you can manage the time spend on a job.

The licence required for ODT Service is the Essential license for Business Central.As by default, the User Experience is Essential on the Company Information, this does not need to be modified.

1.2. Field Ticket Permission SetupIn order to setup and process Field Ticket, permission modeling is required to apply the proper level of security.

ODT Field Ticket has a specific Permission Set called “ODTFT Field Ticket 3” which must be added to any users’ Permission Sets who require access to the Field Ticket functionality.

All users require the D365 BASIC Permission Set as this is a required assignment for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

In addition to the D365 BASIC and the ODTFT Permission Sets, users will as well need to have other Dynamics 365 Business Central Permission Sets assigned to them in order to setup and/or process.

Example 1The user who would be responsible for setting up Dynamics 365 Business Central, such as perhaps creating a separate Tax Group Code and Tax Details for Rentals, or setting up the General Product Posting Groups and General Posting Setup would require the Permission Sets allowing them to do this.

Example 2An Order Processor who would be entering and/or processing rentals will still require the Permissions Sets that are needed for a Sales Order Processor who would be entering, shipping and invoicing a Sales Order.
