*Bzzt* No messages.

This occurs for a variety of reasons. Often the person on the spectrum hyper-focuses on favorite subjects, talking non-stop about them and missing social cues from others to stop. Sometimes people on the spectrum tune out others when they find themselves becoming overstimulated or anxious. Individuals may act aloof, keeping themselves apart from others as a way to manage their anxieties. As a result, they can appear unfriendly, sometimes even rude.

But if they would reduce the SMG

Grenade’s damage, then the game would

be a lot more balanced, and that goes for the Pulse

Rifle’s Energy Blast as well…

This challenge is fairly common for people on the spectrum. Because our interests can be obscure, they may not be interesting to others. But often, that doesn’t stop us from talking on and on about them.

For many of us, anxiety is a major problem, especially when dealing with a new situation. Our nervous systems seem rawer than those of others who are not on the autism spectrum. Sometimes using more than one sensory channel will cause us to shut down. For instance, some may not understand speech if they are focusing on the speaker’s facial expression. Others may not notice physical sensations if they are listening to somebody talk at the same time. This overload can lead to anxiety, sometimes even panic attacks.

This means it can be difficult for individuals on the spectrum to read social, facial, and other important behavioral cues. The world is a “Social” place, and all sorts of problems can occur when you can’t tell that people around you are upset with your behavior or uncomfortable about the topic you are discussing with them.

Claire must be upset about something.

Sameness is very important to people on the autism spectrum. Wearing the same clothing, traveling the same route to work or school each day, and eating the same foods at each meal are common. They may also practice behaviors such as rocking or hand flapping as a way to stimulate or soothe their nervous systems.

Life can be so difficult and confusing for people with autism spectrum disorders that they end up suffering from depression and other serious emotional problems. Just as these disorders can wreak havoc in non-autistic individuals` lives, they can have a devastating effect on those with ASD. Thankfully, there are now wonderful medications and other treatments that can help alleviate some of the effects of these problems.

The most severely affected individuals cannot speak, even though they may have more normal thinking patterns and emotions. Incoming speech sounds may fade in and out, or they may be a jumble of sounds.

Well, I can’t deny that I’m a nerd. I’m also hateful, easily irritated, goofy, and rather unlikeable. I can’t think of what to say when I’m talking to someone and I tend to act unorthodox when it comes to making first impressions.

I tend to stay adhered to a subject if the person I’m talking to even seems remotely interested in the subject at hand. I would chatter on about that subject until the eagles choke, going well past the point when they don’t understand aspects of the subject that I’m talking about.

I am nervous a lot. I worry about what will come tomorrow, what will happen when I get home, what happens when I get to school, etcetera. I cannot shake the feeling that something will happen to me, my family, my pets, my belongings… I can’t help but feel worried.

It is hard for me to comprehend what people will think of certain events or things. It is also hard for me to notice facial expressions and actions that convey their feelings.

As the picture that represented this aspect showed a few slides ago, I cannot maintain myself or go outside without my hat. It is the thing I hold dearest, and going outside without something blue and bearing a ‘b.’ hugging my head just feels weird.

I truly despise many things, but I am forced to bear with these things, which upsets me to the point of sulking and facing the ceiling above my bed every day with a sigh and a grumble about how I hate mornings. This happens frequently.

I have a stuttering problem, and I don’t think about what I’m going to say before I say it and end up talking off the top of my head, therefore I babble, trying to buy some time whilst I think of what I’m going to say. But when I finally figure it out, my partner has given up and left.

I am absurdly random when I do not take my medication, I cannot pull out of my daily routine, I hate loud noise, I hate large amounts of tasks, my mind does not stop working, and other people and their behaviors bewilder me.
