Q1. What was the striking quote and explain why?

GOOD SCHOOLS ARE ALWAYS WORK IN PROGRESS,

(School visit protocol pg.71) this line struck me as I had

never heard or read such a definition of good school.

We usually say and believe:

Good schools are the one where students acquire best

results in academic, sports, and extracurricular activities.

Good schools are those who charges highest fees and

donation.

Good schools are those where teachers speak fluent

English and are highly paid.

But for me good schools definition is where students are

safe and secured physically, mentally and emotionally.

Good school is where students arrive and depart happily.

Now, I would add this line too, that good school is the one

where always work is in progress. Work in progress school

means it is not perfect and it has some challenges which

need to be solved. It also says that we are open to

suggestions and advices to overcome the challenges.

Our school is very popular for using this word CHANGE in

all the aspects. Initially when I was a new employee I use to

be bugged and annoyed with this change taking place

any time anywhere and in any field. But now I understand

that change is required all the time to keep ourselves

updated with this 21st century students. Due to this change

our schools are always buzzing with work. According to me

change brings work and work leads to progress and so TGES

is THE GOOD SCHOOL of Saurashtra.

Q2. Would you recall incident that connects to this quote

or situation? Describe the incident or experience.

Work in progress reminds me of the boards which I

usually see on roads when roads are being constructed or

repaired. My reactions to such boards will be khabar nai

kyare apde foreign countries ni jem smooth road par

travelling karsu, India ma roads par hamesha work in

progress na board j jova male pan god knows when india

will progress. Now after reading this line, I feel I was so

wrong in cribbing about my own country. Indias roads

have this sign board at many places and it clearly shows

that we are working and progressing.

Q3. What is your learning?

Professionally I feel that to be a good/productive

teacher I should inculcate work in progress attitude in

my teaching practices.
