Annual Convention 2019Grupo Antolin held its annual convention in Burgos on March 21, 2019, which was attended by nearly 300 executives from the 25 countries where the company operates. This year’s tagline was Imagine, Innovation for Sustainable Success.
María Helena Antolín, Vice-Chair of the company, opened the meeting. The meeting analyzed the situation in the automo-bile industry and the company. Grupo Antolin continues to gain ground among the world’s largest car interior compo-nent manufacturers as a result of its team’s effort and talent, as demonstrated by Óscar Calvo, violinist and Grupo Antolin employee, during the convention’s opening video.
“Today we are experiencing an unprecedented turning point in our sector. We are facing a new reality that will radical-ly transform our business, our way of working, our way of thinking and acting.
Responding to those challenges requires all of us here today, all of us who are part of Grupo Antolin, to put our talent to the test. A talent that, as you have just seen with Óscar Cal-vo’s excellent violin performance, shines in each and every one of us forming part of this great family. With his perfor-mance, we are launching a series of initiatives that you will discover in the coming months, to recognize what we have chosen to call “Other Talents at Grupo Antolin”.
Talent is undoubtedly important, but so is innovation. It must be applied in everything we do. Sometimes that innovation will take the form of new and disruptive transforming ideas, like those that have marked our history. However, innovation is more often reflected in simple ideas that improve processes and make them more efficient. These are ideas that can come from anyone, and we must strive to generate, share and ap-ply them in our day-to-day work”.
“WE FACE THE BIGGEST OF CHALLENGES: REINVENTING OURSELVES IN ORDER TO CONTINUE
A GREAT SUCCESS STORY. WE MUST ESTABLISH A SUSTAINABLE LEADERSHIP MODEL THAT IS
CAPABLE OF LOOKING AHEAD TO THE FUTURE”
“Other Talents at Grupo Antolin”Óscar Calvo, a Grupo Antolin employee (Graphic Engineering at the R&D center) participated in the opening of this year's event, delighting all those present with a magnificent violin rendition of John Lennon's Imagine. Thank you Óscar for sharing your other talent with all of us.

Jesús Pascual CEO
During his speech, Grupo Antolin’s CEO reviewed the business’s progress and stressed that the company remains a key supplier for car manufacturers due to the efforts of all its teams.
“AS I HAVE MENTIONED TO YOU ON OTHER OCCASIONS, THIS TECHNOLOGICAL REVOLUTION IS AN
OPPORTUNITY. THE FUTURE ELECTRIC AND CONNECTED CAR BRINGS A WORLD OF POSSIBILITIES FOR OUR
INTERIORS BUSINESS. THE MANUFACTURERS NEED STRATEGIC SUPPLIERS SUCH AS GRUPO ANTOLIN WHICH
CAN MEET THE NEED TO DEVELOP THIS MULTI-TECHNOLOGY ON A GLOBAL SCALE”
We remain the undisputed leader in the headliner business with a 27% market share, four points more than five years ago. We are also one of the biggest players in doors with a 19% share in Europe and 10% in North America. In addition, we are improving our position in lighting and instrument panels.
During his speech, the CEO also stressed that Grupo Antolin’s new Sustainability Master Plan approved last year is a key pil-lar for the business and that sustainability is an asset for the company which creates value.
“As a leading, modern, and global company, Grupo Anto-lin is firmly committed to the development, prosperity, and wealth creation of the countries, regions, and communities where we operate.
Companies cannot solve all of society’s problems, but many of these cannot be solved without the leadership of compa-nies such as Grupo Antolin.”
As a summary of his speech, he talked about the need for everyone’s engagement and leadership to move forward in the sector and the commitment to innovation and building technology into products and to quality in our factories.
Finally, Jesús Pascual congratulated all Grupo Antolin’s employees for their work.
Last year our products were in more than 80 models released onto the market
These are obviously good figures that make us a strategic supplier in the industry and enable us to leverage the full potential of the new trends in the sector.”
OBJECTIVES OF THE ROUND TABLE
3 Transfer the concepts of sustainability to the reality of the sector and of Grupo Antolin in particular.
3 Understand that sustainability is part of the daily operations of companies, it applies to everyone and must be adapted to the reality of their environment and integrated into the management of the company. It is not a corporate issue, it must be adapted to the local context in each location.
3 Value of the company beyond accounting figures. Importance of the intangible and of ESG decisions today, for the survival of the business.
3 Need to combine the short term aspect of earnings and the future profitability of the company, focusing on HOW things are done. Not losing sight of the short term without losing sight of the future.
3 How searching for and obtaining profits is not incompatible with a company’s ability to manage environmental, social and governance matters.
3 Only with the help of everyone can we form part of the transformation of the interior of the future and be the leader.
After the CEO’s speech there was a round table on sustainability moderated by the expert Jaime Silos, President of Spainsif and Corporate Development Director at Forética. It featured Emma Antolin, Sustainability Director and member of Grupo Antolin’s Board of Directors, Cristina Blanco, Chief Financial Officer, and Miguel Ángel Vicente, Chief Operating Officer at Grupo Antolin.

Next, the ceremony to present the first Grupo Antolin Values Awards was held. The first edition was incredibly popular, with 474 entries received. We congratulate all those present for having contributed to the success of this initiative and we encourage you to continue participating in the future.
The winners of this first edition are an example for everyone to follow. Who better than them to teach us how a Grupo Antolin employee should act and behave. María Helena con-gratulated all the winners.
Launching an initiative like this has undoubtedly been a chal-lenge, as was creating the sculptures for the Grupo Antolin Values awards. Their creator, Óscar Martín, explained the sig-nificance of these sculptures.
The company recognizes the people and teams that are an example for all of how a Grupo Antolin employee should act and behave.
“If you recall, last year when we presented the Grupo Antolin Values Awards we told you that Values are the beliefs which drive us. They are often the last thing we notice, and yet they are what keep us in business. Values make us what we are: a blend of knowledge and emotions. In short, they enable us to address new challenges”María Helena Antolin, Deputy Director of Grupo Antolin

PRESENTATION
Innovation
Ramón is an expert consultant in cross innovation, applied creativity, leadership and innovation, who helps business leaders with
strategies, tools and skills to look beyond the borders of their domain in order to transform
their business in a smarter way.
One of the topics of the Convention was innovation, so a 360º SHOWROOM was installed in the main hall where, using virtual reality glasses, all of the guests were invited to see first hand the innovative solutions that we propose in our showroom at head office.
8 grupoantolinINFORMA april 2019
Javier Villacampa, Corporate Innovation Director, opened the presentation on Innovation. To round off the experts’ presentations, consultant Ramón Vullings made a speech on cross innovation’s potential to transform business in a smarter way.
Javier Villacampa said: “Innovation goes far beyond the Corpo-rate Innovation Department. It is something that is also done in the factories, in advanced engineering, in human resources and in sustainability. Innovation cuts across the entire company.”
“Grupo Antolin is positioned in the market as a Smart Integra-tor, not an assembler. We are not seeking to assemble parts, but to take advantage of the Group’s engineering capabilities and talent to make different architectures that, combining compo-nents that are currently separate, allow us to obtain products that are cheaper, more lightweight and provide better results”.

Speech from the Chairman
grupoantolinINFORMA 92019 april
The first part of the Convention was closed by Ernesto Antolin, Grupo Antolin’s Chairman, who asked the executives to leverage the success achieved to reinvent themselves and lead the future opening up for the industry.
“Grupo Antolin is a success story. However, today it has to address a new and exciting challenge: Reinventing itself day after day to consolidate sustainable leadership.
Few companies can proudly say they have built so much starting from scratch, from a small workshop that was very close to where we are now.
We have undoubtedly gone further than we could have dreamed. And we have also done it in an industry as competi-tive, but at the same time as exciting, as this one.”
“AS THE VIDEO OPENING THE CONVENTION PUT IT, IMAGINING IS THE FIRST STEP IN TRANSFORMING
REALITY, IN CHANGING THINGS. I CAN ALREADY IMAGINE THE WORLD’S FUTURE ELECTRIC AND AUTONOMOUS CARS FITTED WITH CUTTING-EDGE GRUPO ANTOLIN
COMPONENTS. I CAN ALSO IMAGINE A STRONGER, BIGGER GRUPO ANTOLIN THAT WILL SET THE STANDARD
IN INNOVATION, TALENT, AND SUSTAINABILITY.”
