It’s Time to Celebratethe New Year!

This January, be sure to stop into our shop during “Visit Your Local Quilt Shop Days” for your photo close-up and a chance to win one of two $50 shopping sprees. Can't make it in? No problem, follow us on Facebook and feel free to post your own images there. Also, be ready this January 30th as we celebrate another of our 5th Saturday “Old Bag” Sale days.

February is a fantastic time of year. Shake off those last minute flurries and join us for a fun filled weekend as we host Anita Goodesign's Winter Wonderland Workshop and Retreat. It is sure to be informative and exciting, and the projects are just oh so adorable! This February is a leap year, so it's time to host our Leap Year Sales Event again! Checkout the amazing deals that only come around once every four years. It's sure to be hopping!

Let's warm up our sewing machines by participating in March Mystery Quilt Madness. Pull out your spyglasses and join us March 7th for the beginning of a quilting hunt. Stop in every Monday for your weekly clue to get started. March also plays host to our yearly, “You Know You're a Quilter When” Retreat. A Fun filled weekend full of learning. If you need some inspiration, check out the International Quilt Study Center and Museum in Lincoln. They are hosting an Open House in honor of National Quilting Day. Tons of amazing talent lines those walls, and they are always worth a visit.

April is the time for showers and flowers. Let your creativity bloom and your talents develop by joining us for the start of a new Saturday Sampler. Scott Flanagan has been working hard on this year’s design called “Quilter’s Guide to The Galaxy.” You won't want to miss this one. It's bold, beautiful and completely out of this world. If you are looking to do some traveling this month, check out and join us for the 2016 Nebraska Shop Hop “Season's Sewn.” Jump from store to store and get your stamps in your passports. Then turn them in for chances to win amazing prizes.

This year, we are hosting our very own quilt show. If you have participated in any of our classes, March Mystery, or Saturday Samplers, be sure to finish them off and bring them in. The quilt show will be going on all of May and a reception will be hosted for the event. Don't miss out on our 1st Annual Country Traditions Customer Quilt Show, “Stories That Quilts Can Tell!” We are hoping you will enjoy seeing everyone's projects come to life, and reconnect with your quilting classmates.

Happy New Year Everyone! It's a great time to reflect on 2015 and look forward to new goals, new projects, and even some new quilting fabrics in 2016! If you make new year's resolutions, you know that it takes a good effort to make progress towards your goals. Whether they be organizing your quilting room, rehashing your stash, or learning a few new skills or techniques. “Stories That Quilts Can Tell”

It’sShowTime

Ingredients 1 White Chocolate Amaretto Cheeseball Mix 8 oz. Cream Cheese 2 cups Flour 1-1/2 cups Brown Sugar (divided) 1-1/2 cups Butter (divided)

DirectionsPreheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a bowl, blend flour, 1 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup softened butter. Pat into an ungreased 9x13" pan. Combine 1/2 cup brown sugar and 2/3 cup butter in saucepan. Boil 30 seconds to 1 minute, stirring constantly. Pour over the crust and bake for 20 minutes or until caramel is bubbly and crust is brown. Cool completely. Combine White Chocolate Amaretto Mix (Topping to be used later), cream cheese, and 1/4 cup butter. Spread cheesecake mixture evenly over the top. Sprinkle with the contents of the Topping packet.

Refrigerate and cut into bars. Serve chilled. Makes 24 servings.
