PCM600 is the tool suite used for programming the RER620 and its advanced features. This tool suite can be downloaded either on-line or from a disk. In the case of the disk, the user will need to request one from ABB. Please use the contact information provided at the end of this document. The steps below are for installing PCM600 v2.4.1 from the on-line site. Note, for this process, you will need to be connected to the internet. Substation Automation Software Library Log-in

1. Use the following link to get to the Substation Automation Software Library main page: www143.abb.com/SoftwareLibrary

2. Select Library from the menu found on the left side of the screen:

3. If you already have an account, enter the requested information, and move on to the section titled “Requesting PCM600 v2.4.” If an account needs to be created, select Please register, found at the bottom of the Log-in screen:

4. Enter in all of the requested registration information, and select Create an account:

5. The activation code will be e-mailed. Follow the activation link (target page shown below) included in the e-mail and enter in the activation code. Then, click Activate.

Requesting PCM600 v2.4

1. Return to the Substation Automation Software Library, and select Library from the menu on the left side of the screen.

2. For a first time download, find the PCM600 ver. 2.4 SP1 section and select Complete installation package (incl. 2.4 and SP1, for new installations):

3. On the File download screen, select Request file:

4. Upon requesting the file, an approval e-mail will be sent. Click the link in the e-mail, log-on when asked, and a download prompt will initiate.

Downloading PCM600 v2.4

1. Upon accepting the PCM600 download prompt, begin the installation by selecting Next:

2. Read and accept the license agreement, and select Next:

3. Select which components need to be downloaded. The “Add-on IEC61850 Eng.” will require the PCM600 Engineering Pro license. Select Next when all desired components are selected:

4. Choose the desired installation type, and click Next:

5. A pop-up screen for the ABB Lifecycle Service will be displayed. Choose whether or not to participate, and click Next:

6. Begin the installation by clicking Next:

Installing optional IET600 tool The IET600 tool is used when developing GOOSE peer-to-peer messaging schemes. It can only be used when the PCM600 Engineering Pro license, which can be bought through ABB. Please use the contact information at the end of this document for any inquiry.

1. IET600 will instantly begin its download if selected in step 3 of Downloading PCM600 v2.4. Select Next to proceed with the installation:

2. Read and acknowledge the license agreement, and then select Next:

3. Enter in the requested customer information, and select Next:

4. Determine where the installation files need to be saved, and select Next:

5. Begin installation by selecting Install:

6. Once installation is complete, select Finish to exit the setup wizard:

7. Select Finish to exit the installation:

License installation Information Once PCM600 v2.4 is installed, a license is needed to access the functionality of the tool suite. The Substation Automation Software Library provides an installation guide in the main library, as seen below:

Note that the Basic and Engineering licenses will allow use of the Application Configuration Tool (ACT), and provide most of the functionality of the PCM600 tool suite. For access to the IET600 tool, used for programming GOOSE messaging, the Engineering Pro license will need to be purchased.
