What is Volume?

We live in a 3 Dimensional World. The volume of a solid body is the amount of "space" it occupies.

The volume of an object can be calculated using mathematical equations or by measuring. Volume is measured in "cubic" units. However be sure to use the same units for all measurements.

Volume of Solids

The volume of a figure is the number of cubes required to fill it completely, like blocks in a box. In other words if you fill a box with cubes, rows of cubes, or layers of cubes. The number of unit cubes needed to fill the entire box is known as the volume of the box.

It has six 6 faces which are all rectangles. The total surface area of a cuboid is the sum of the areas of its six faces.
