What is genetic engineering ?
Genetic engineering is the process of manually adding new DNA to an organism.

Genetic Engineering Process
Step 1
•Find an organism that have the desired gene
Step 2
•Extract the DNA from that organism
Step 3
•Locate and copy the one desired gene (recipe) from thousands of genes that were extracted. This is called gene cloning.
Step 4
•Modify slightly the gene to work in a more desirable way once inside the recipient organism.
Step 5
•Deliver the new gene(s), called a transgene into cells of the recipient organism. This is called transformation.
