On behalf of the French boating industry, I want to dedicate the Nautic 2017 edition to all exhibiting companies who participate in its rising and prestige. I want to thank you, regardless of the sector that you represent, - sailing, motor, sliding, equipment, services, rental, tourism, or the media -, because each of you contributes to emphasizing our know-how and our passion.
This show is our collective heritage. It is unique and never leaves anyone indifferent, whether an exhibitor or a visitor. For the first time directly organized by the French Nautical Industries Federation (FIN), through Nautic Festival SA, this represents for us an important and challenging issue. We have given ourselves three years. Three years to modernize this common history and build a greater visibility, attract a new category of boaters, widen the scope of the boating experience and facilitate access to the practice. These are the axes of development that will impart a new impetus and dynamism into the Nautic by 2019.
Starting this year, this shift is underway, and 26 new features are implemented. Our teams, and first of all Alain Pichavant, worked to meet the expectations of professionals to simplify the show planning via a booking platform and optimize the costs of participation. December 5th will be especially dedicated to them and will end with a festive moment which will be held in the manufacturer’s lobby.
Visit boats without appointment in the “Welcome on board space”, watch movies on the marine environment in the new theater, compete at the Nautic Innovation Awards, which reward the best innovations in the marine industry, participate in the biggest paddle race of the world, benefit from a personal coach to customize your visit to the «Captaincy» area, have an appropriate assistance in financing an acquisition, get a boat license, or participate in the auction of a fleet of around fifteen
old boats, are new features offered to visitors. Visitors will also be able to rediscover the French sailing, Canoe-Kayak and Rowing federations which will all make their comeback at the Nautic. FFV will present its sailor of the year award at the show on Sunday, December 3rd.
The Nautic will also offer this year, a new beach area at the side of the pool, in partnership with the Ministry of sports, the French Tennis Federation, the French Handball Federation, and the Union of Sport and Cycle. Discovering beach tennis and beach handball, then learn about canoeing, rowing, Stand Up Paddle, wakeboarding with the FFSNW, or surfing a wave; all these activities can be performed during the show which will transform Paris during nine days in the biggest nautical playground of France.
Finally, I want to conclude with a message for our compatriots from Sint Marteens, severely affected by Hurricane Irma a few weeks ago. The Nautic 2017 decided to put them in the spotlight of this edition. We call today on everyone solidarity to help us rebuild the nautical sector which is held today by nearly 70 companies and 400 direct jobs and who has lost nearly 70 percent of its fleet.
I wish you an excellent Nautic 2017

Nautic 2017 is a particularly special occasion for this year’s participants.Firstly, Nautic Festival, a subsidiary of the French Nautical Industrie Federation has taken over the organization of the event. As in most countries and sectors, it is the boating professionals who take charge of their first annual event, with the intention of making it a resounding success. Nautic Festival is a group that is better able to serve both its members and the exhibitors.
Secondly, Visitor Experience is central to our strategy. Historically and economically, the Paris International Boat Show is at the heart of boating events, the only event to bring together a breadth of passionate and curious boating fanatics in one place. It is this combination of amateur and professional enthusiasts that makes the show in Paris a special event, and our intention this year is for each visitor to experience something new and memorable. Whether through riding a large wave of unparalleled surf, having their feet on the sandy beach, in the indoor basin or on the Seine, or through optimizing their visit using the new Mon Nautic application and discovering the best of this year’s films, visitors are sure to experience the new breath of fresh air of the Nautic. A breath coming from Salvador de Bahia, the small moorings of the Grenadines, the Strait of Bonifacio or Raz de Sein, which reminds us that we are better on the water than anywhere else, even in the heart of the Parisian winter.
Finally, boating is doing well after years of cold fronts and calm waters! There have been numerous advances for both sailing and motor boats as well as for equipment. This year, visitors can discover the latest innovations that will also be showcased at the Nautic Innovation Awards. Featured items include the new Sun Odyssey and Jeanneau’s unseen Merry Fisher 1090, the Dufour 360, the new Bénéteau Antarès, gorgeous little day-boats and an auction of vintage runabouts. The best of this year’s yachting industry will also be on display, be it Italian, British, American, Polish, Danish or Bigouden. The entertainment is also expanding, with a range of activities on offer such as the now internationally renowned Stand Up Paddle race on the Seine, with its 700 riders on the same starting line, real wakeboard competitions on the basin, Beach Handball and Beach Tennis demonstrations by professionals on the beach. There is also the Transat Jacques Vabre Awards ceremony and the election of the FFV Marin of the Year, both of which are not to be missed. 6 sports federations have come together to provide endless entertainment and attractions for the Nautic Show and have opened the boating industry to all audiences: Rowing, Canoeing, Handball, Water Skiing and Wake Boarding, Tennis and Sailing. So much diversity and passion, united by the sense of shared pleasure.Come and enjoy the Nautic experience!

The Nautic Show is one of the biggest international boat shows, and among the 5 most important French shows of any sector. Being the last boat show to be organized in the heart of a capital, its logistics is complex, but it is historically related to Paris and provides a unique prominence for the nautical industry. It is indeed the oldest public exhibition held in the capital.
The Nautic Show is also very diverse, demonstrating the depth of the boating sector, from award ceremonies for the biggest races to surfboards or insurance solutions. More than 1,800 brands and nearly 1,000 boats are exhibited by 825 exhibitors on 130,000 sqm.
580 boats are exhibited by 150 stands for powerboating over 56,000 sqm, while 140 sailboats are on display in the 85 exhibitor stands for sailing, the other boats are canoes, boards, various beach gear and related products.
The Spot, with its watersports village and the beach has 50 exhibitors spread over 7,000 sqm. Tourism and Boat Rentals have 170 170 exhibitors over 13,000 sqm. Equipment, including clothing, is represented by 220 exhibitors over 16,000 sqm. Finally, there are 150 media, services and associations over 15,000 sqm.
More than 203,754 visitors were registered in 2016 by the OJS, the French Office for Trade Shows and Fairs, which places the Nautic Show just behind the show in Dusseldorf in terms of attendance, but with a greater diversity of visitors.
Nearly 500 journalists were accredited in 2016, 2400 press stories were published, 21 hours of television and 8 hours of radio were broadcasted. Finally, 160 events and conferences run by the organization, more than 300 events organized by exhibitors and partners make the Nautic Show the most important boating event in Europe.

nautic supparis crossing
Created seven years ago by the current general curator of the Nautic, former windsurfing champion Alain Pichavant, the largest stand up paddle race in the world does indeed take place in Paris, and inaugurates the opening of the show each winter. The most impressive SUP race starting line is in front of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris, not in Hawaii nor Ipanema. What an amazing vision ! 700 riders gliding on the Seine at dawn, waking up the City of Light in their draft. On Sunday, December 3 at 8:00, do not miss this incredible show of hundreds of happy paddlers throwing their boards in the water in minutes!
Selected by random draw after an online registration that has seen more than 1,300 candidates register, 100 seats are reserved for Pro racers, and 500 for Open competitors, the last hundred seats being reserved for journalists, VIPs and other sports guests.
Stand Up Paddling is a sport which is still experiencing a huge growth and is accessible to everyone. It is thanks to this SUP that very many boaters have found their way back into watersports, in France of course with more than 50 000 licensees, but mainly abroad. This sport is even at the origin of a renewed interest in windsurfing as more and more SUP boards can be equipped with an optional rig. A true social phenomenon, the Stand Up Paddle has its flagship event in the Nautic, with this spectacular opening race.
The race starts at 8:00 in front of the National Library of France and ends at Port of Javel bas. Pro racers do a complete tour of the Ile Saint Louis, and the SNSM ensures the safety of this event that welcomes ... one hundred additional competitors each year! From the Pont des Arts, the Pont des Invalides or the Pont de l’Alma, do not miss this unique vision of hundreds of runners on the Seine in the early morning!

innovation nautic awarDs
The French nautical industry owes its position as world leader to its innumerable innovations, developed over decades, themselves often from competition. Innovation is therefore at the heart of the DNA of French yachting, whether composites, rigging, electronics, fittings or services. It was therefore natural for the French capital to showcase the most innovative companies at its first annual gathering by creating the Nautic Innovation Awards in partnership with «Mer Angels».
The competition is opened to any French company, making a definitive contribution in terms of performance, accessibility, comfort or safety on board. The two categories contested are Products and Services, as well as a Special Prize awarded to Start-Ups.
The Nautic Innovation Awards will be officially presented on Friday December 8 at the Scene Nautic, but all selected innovations will be on display throughout the week, allowing visitors to explore the extent of French creativity.
The innovations nominated for the Product Innovation category will be exhibited in the Innovation Area of Hall 1, and are:
1- Semi-rigid hydrofoil from SeAir. At last, hydrofoils can now be seen on everyone’s motorboats, which have made exceptional progress, such as reduced fuel consumption of up to 35%, a complete erasure of the effects of short waves, and an unparalleled sensation of flight. It sounds simple, but extrapolating this technology, coming again from the America’s Cup to making it a reality for all is a real challenge! The next step is in managing the flight height, decreasing the effect of hydrofoils on speed and spectacular plantings, and ensuring a comfortable ride...
2- The EWincher Electric winch handle. Electric winch systems already existed but were not practical for hand-milling. The E Wincher is a winch, that can be used manually at all speeds, but can take all or part of the human effort. It can for example greatly increase the speed of hauling in, relieve the efforts of a man in the rig, in short do almost everything a strong teammate can do... without complaining! The ergonomics are very neat and intuitive, from the adjustable power to the measured weighting: a true innovation that has been years in the making.
3- The Splashelec joysticks system allows you to control your boat using a joystick. All configurations are possible, from simple commands to controlling the sails, all with a sensitivity like that of traditional controls. People with disabilities will now be able to fly tall ships without difficulty, and others will also be able to install real internal or secondary wheelhouses in a simple and scalable way.
4- The balises Appel Bienveillance Bab S’Ot Ocean Tools beacon is an innovation of marine common sense. While expensive electronic solutions are multiplying to find those who are shipwrecked, this fully manual beacon asks the shipwrecked to perform certain invaluable actions such as triggering smoke, flashing a mirror or emitting powerful whistles. Rescuers know that one of the major difficulties of shipwrecked people is there helplessness, and the inability to interact with their rescuers, even when they are in range. Born from the experience of the beacon’s designer as that of a rescuer, this single innovative tool is simple, accessible, effective, and just makes good sense.

5- Carré Distribution’s UFO Foiler is a small catamaran allowing everyone the opportunity to sail at speed, without being an America’s Cup ace or a trapeze artist. With a simple design and priced at $7,600 in the US, this small multihull takes the principle of Foil Moth, but its two shells provide incomparable stability and an automated sensor-probe height of flight and trim. Designed for the solo sailors, it can nevertheless send both an adult and a child flying through the seas! We bet that future generations will find it strange how a boat stays in the water, and that Archimedes buoyancy principle will be no more than a vague concept subject to the mood of the waves.
6- The Zodiac Avon eJet Nautic electrical appendix is a real first, allowing you to approach beaches or small ports without excessive noise or danger and of course without polluting. Intended primarily for use on large yachts, whose owners are increasingly concerned about the environment - and their image - this small electric boat is powered by an electric turbine powerful enough to exceed 20 nodes with sufficient autonomy. Zodiac Marine has great ambitions in the field of propulsion of the future and innovations, a sign that the brand is regaining its historical position as an industry leader.
7- North Sails, the leader in racing sails and the creator of seamless 3D molded composite sails, is launching a new technology called 3D : NordacTM this year. The objective is simply to allow everyone to benefit from these years of innovation in the competition, but with less expensive fabrics and therefore a final price close to that of a traditional sail. Without seams, the sails are less deformed, the points of fragility are removed, the weight is reduced, and the performance is optimized! Could this be the end of sewing machines for sailmakers?
8- Inflated Wing Sails (IWS) are a system of inflatable sails that are operated via fans, inspired by the sport of paragliding and mounted on a telescopic, self-supporting mast. The system promises simple maneuvering and a flexibly-operating rig, without the need for pressure applied to the hull of the vessel and without any effort required in terms of sheet input. Adapted to all kinds of boat, the thick profile of the inflatable wing sails may be reduced in height in order to adapt to strong winds. This means the ability to sail freely and without the need for a strong crew. This will be a major trend in the sailing world of tomorrow!

The other category of the Nautic Innovation Awards is innovative services. Of course, it is difficult to
exhibit a concept, but all the designers of these 8 innovations will be present at the Nautic Show:
1- Zodiac Electronics Zodiac Connected Boat is a waterproof case that connects your boat, whatever its brand, with your smartphone. Real-time monitoring of data, possible sharing of information, the Smartphone continues its all-round breakthrough in boating, replacing the screens of central navigation and radar, alarm interface, card or sonar reader...
2- Sportihome is the AirBnB of sports, a multisport web and mobile platform to share experiences on all sporting activity hotspots. Sportihome also allows you to book or rent accommodation nearby while benefiting from the advice of regulars or locals.
3- Largowind offers a remote monitoring system for your boat, focused on its mooring. Whether at berth or at anchor, any abnormal behavior of hawsers or ends is detected by a specific algorithm, whether it is flight, bad weather, intrusion or the moorings breaking.
4- Bénéteau presents the Bénéteau Boat Club, which offers its members branded motorboats throughout its bases in Europe. A new way of sailing therefore, without the concerns of wintering, maintenance, insurance and while sailing on the latest boats in perfect condition, and with a Premium service. Like the automobile, power boating is evolving towards a model where use takes precedence over ownership, following the new behaviors of emerging generations ... and boaters for whom pleasure is paramount!
5- Nauticoncept launches an electronic module for monitoring the essential functions of your boat such as energy, the presence of water, temperatures, the electrical circuit and other sensors to anticipate maintenance operations, ensure 24-hour monitoring 365 days a year while recording in real time a complete history.
6- Ekosea is the first crowdfunding platform dedicated to the ocean and its protection, which connects project leaders and donors or investors.
7- The Cargo, an online shopping platform for marine materials, is launched by Gérard d’Aboville. This new operator on the market is for both private and professional boaters, and has all online services, from secure payment to tracking orders and deliveries.
8- Float intends to make yachting accessible to all. It is an application and platform sharing yachts, offering boarding or cabin, for a week, a weekend or even a day.

press KiT NauTic 2-10 DeC. 2017
Finally, we would be remiss not to list the other innovations identified by the Nautic Innovation Awards, even if they are not finalists. They are also being exhibited at the Nautic Show!
Paddleboard (1) presents semi-rigid Duo Boards designed by Cesare Cantagalli, with all the benefit of rigid boards but without their bulk. The little used front area is inflatable while the rear, which supports the weight of the rider and ensures most of the glide, remains stiff and therefore powerful. Evidently, and obviously beneficial for SUP, surfing and windsurfing even and especially hydrofoil ... Having discovered the benefits of semi-rigid motorboating, the same technologies can be applied to Skiing. In the same range of compromise stiffness / bulk, Reverso (2) presents in Paris a rigid dinghy, that separates into 4 stackable pieces. No more need for a trailer, the boat now fits in the trunk of the car (or that of a cruising sailboat) and is as efficient as a sports dinghy.
Chemistry is also and always at the heart of the concerns of boaters, lovers of their environment. Each year, the Nautic Show welcomes new eco-responsible formulas, such as Enzy Wash, a new non-caustic biodegradable shampoo, or the dynamic chemists of Matt Chem Marine who have developed an enzymatic degradation solution from organic waste. Gray water and black water, gluttonous enzymes are ready to restore your colors!
Architecture is undoubtedly one of France’s areas of excellence. Among countless innovations this year is Jeanneau’s new Sun Odyssey (3), deck plan, so awesome that we should have thought it up years ago.

nautic street fishing
Very popular in many cities around the world, Street Fishing is a celebration of urban rivers and the art of catching fish. In Chicago, New York, Tokyo or Paris, young workers return from the office with small bags slung over their shoulder, from which come out a telescopic rod and a few accessories. The principle is to catch the biggest fish possible, take a picture of it and release it without hurting it; the so-called No Kill.
The regulars of this urban pastime are often young, sometimes very young like the winners of last years’ Nautic Street Fishing competition, and the catches are varied, they might even include a giant catfish or two! Organized by French Touch Fishing, creator of the first Open Streets, the Union des Pêcheurs de Paris, which has been managing fishing licenses in the capital for more than a century, and with the support of Suzuki Marine, Comptoir des Pêcheurs and Uship, this competition shares the values of the Nautic: friendliness, accessibility, knowledge of the environment, and a shared passion across generations.
The competition is due to start on Saturday, December 9 at 9:00, during the second weekend of the Nautic Show, for 150 teams of 2 fishermen. The fishing area is determined between the Pont Neuf and the Pont du Périphérique downstream, on the left bank of the Seine, the Swan Island and the Port du Louvres. Each species, according to its size photographed with a standard rule, will be afforded a certain number of points. The most popular are pike, zander and barbel (500 points), the least valued in points are catfish (of which there are many in the Seine). Fishermen will have to stay on the banks, without using bridges, boats or entering the water, following the spirit of Street Fishing. Also, fish that have fallen to the ground will not be counted, and dead catches during capture will result in points being taken away, corresponding to the species and size.
The awards ceremony will take place at the Nautic Show, Saturday, December 9 at 18:00.
The rules are available online at the Paris International Boat Show:https://www.salonnautiqueparis.com/user/pages/02.visiter/animations-salon/nautic-street-fishing/reglement-nautic-street-fishing-2017/170823%20Avis%20de%20course%20Nautic%20Street%20Fishing%202017%20FR%20V6.pdf

electric boats
The new Avon eJet (1) is the first electric boat of the Zodiac group. Intended to serve as an annex to large yachts, it is powered by a Torqeedo jet giving it performance and autonomy comparable to a semi-rigid thermal.
The Saviboat Derby 4.30 (2), a license-free runabout designed for canal and lake rides, is enjoying a new 24V liftable Pod this year.
Boathome (3) is a real floating house autonomous in energy and water, propelled by electric motors. With a contemporary design, it is a real alternative to a second home.
In partnership with AFBE, the French Electric Boat Association, the Nautic Show is exhibiting a 400m selection of electric boats. Several models will be presented, from the small children’s marine bike to the solar prototype through to the river boat, as well as products dedicated to electric yachting. Clean propulsion continues to grow, helped by the progress of the batteries today, and the real revolution to come with hydrogen. Many builders and shipyards are working on these advances, such as Zodiac Marine, which this year presents its first semi-rigid electric jet, and the AFBE has decided to create a specific label for electric boats to guarantee boaters an indispensable quality standard.
A prize for electric powered boat of the year 2017 will be awarded by the AFBE on Saturday, December 9th on the Nautic stage. The winner will be elected through two types of votes: visitors of the Nautic on the one hand and a jury on the other hand, composed of a representative of FIN (Federation of Nautical Industries), the President of AFBE and a specialized journalist.
On the AFBE stand, visitors will discover:

welcome aboarDfree visits, finally guaranteed
in a boat show!
Although 92% of the visitors of Nautic 2016 said they were satisfied at the end of their visit, one of the main complaints of the neophytes, dreamers and other members of the public not in the know, was the difficulty in visiting the boats. Oftentimes it’s necessary to make an appointment, to leave a business card and even declare your intention to buy; in short to show your ways and means to have the privilege to go on board. The elitist image of yachting is thus reinforced in a useless and, above all, totally false way, because boating today easy and accessible at all levels. This year, the Nautic Show has decided to set up a specific area where the visits are free, without formality, and thus improve the experience of its visitors. To tour a boat and stand on its deck is a much different experience than admiring its keel... however beautiful it is.
The boats opened for visiting represent several types of sailing:
bénéteau first 210 (1)Best seller of the world leading shipyard, the First 210 is the archetype of the small homogeneous cruiser; transportable and easy to maintain. The subject of many articles in Voile Magazine, sailing all over the coast, this boat is somewhat of a celebrity in sailing circles and ...you can even win one for yourself!
maxus 26 (2)The Maxus 26 demonstrates the considerable progress made by shipyards in the design of accessible small boats. This sailboat can almost be personalized, with 4 types of keel and different arrangements, all with a very modern silhouette including bilge and an overhang steamhead, like you would find on a larger vessel.
fora marine rm 970 (3)Fora Marine builds its boats in wood, more specifically, epoxy plywood. In addition to its remarkable performance (it is the personal sailboat of François Gabart for example), this construction makes it possible to do without molds and therefore heavy investments. These boats are a showcase of the future of boating innovations, with sleek and bright design.
dufour yachts 36 (4)This boat size is the «heart of the market», the most prevalent in our ports, with a boat produced by the pioneer of modern polyester boats. The Dufour 36 is an example of modern fast sailing, technical regatta while providing comfortable cruising.
Jeanneau sunfast 3600 (5)More geared towards performance, this Jeanneau is a from a great series of real racing machines. The “quadras” (40-year-olds) allow these boats to cross the Atlantic at breakneck speed at the Transquadra and the Sunfast are regularly seen on the podium in all major classical events.
And the legendary Pen Duick III, is also open to the public! It is the boogeyman of Anglo-Saxon yachting, the infernal machine of the Frenchies Tabarly Kersauson Petitpas who terrorized all ocean racing during the sixties by winning pretty much all the World races, from Fastnet to Hobart, and having made a thousand adventures such as the beautiful Vendée Globe with Jean-François Coste. This boat is a legend, open to all audiences, like all good adventurers.

la capitaineriereading and coaching space
The experience of coaches put to use for the visitors. At the entrance of Hall 1, there is a new visitor welcome space, the “Capitainerie” (“the Captaincy”), with the aim of offering free advice and suggestions for routes to all visitors, from beginners to experts.
Nautic is a large exhibit, not only in terms of visitor numbers, but also in terms of space! With five halls and thousands of brands represented, it is sometimes hard to organise your visit well, and even to find the good exhibitors. Two new services have thus been implemented this year:
1 - Specialised coaches. Thanks to the partnership between Macif and INB, eight coaches will take all kinds of questions, from simple to more complex, such as: where can I learn the basics of navigation? Or, how can I optimise the glide of my hull? According to their needs and areas of interest, the visitors will receive recommendations on specific routes in the Halls, in the form of a plan or... a new mobile app
2 - A visitor mobile app: Mon Nautic. Now indispensable, this new app aims to offer a route optimised for each kind of visitor in accordance with their profile. After having answered some simple questions, multiple themed routes will be offered:
#my 1 nautic transports the visitor to discover the main novelties in the major sectors of watersports, sailboats, motorboats and also tourism to offer them a complete panorama of the nautical universe.
#nautical innovations suggests a course centred on the novelties, but also on the Innovation Area, the Foil Area, the new equipment and fittings.
#2017 exhibit novelties will take the visitor towards all of the new animations, spaces, new exhibitions, and will offer surprises to all visitors, even the most faithful.
#the children’s entertainment experience is a route for fun and discovery for all ages, from the youngest to the most experienced: It passes through the large Pool with multiple activities, the big artificial wave to work up a sweat, the Beach, the free tour of a fable (Pen Duick III), the Cinema...
#the new participant will make the round of inductions at the Pool and the Wave, but also applications for boat sharing or hiring between individuals, river hiring which does not require a license and the cruise and coaching training stands, development courses - in short, all the gateways to every yachting activity.
#i navigate and i want to perfect it will bring visitors to discover all of the workshops and trainings to progress: Cartography, mechanical, weather and first aid workshops on the “Sail the World Space”, all training offered by Macif, the Uship Academy which offers concise and practical close-ups, Jeep which is offering advice on how to better tow, the Boat Permit and Maintenance animations, and all training for training-boats.
Other routes have been designed to meet all the requests, even the most detailed ones: Prepare for your trip to sea guides the yachtsman through the prevention and weather services, the equipment manufacturers, clothing and insurance stands to be ready; My first navigation with or without a boat license allows you to quickly make the rounds of opportunities to take off without constraint, whether one holds a license or not. The Fishing Course is for the 80% of boaters who fish - many people then! My first boat guides the neophyte towards the coaches and advisers of the platform of the world leader, Bénéteau, financing and insurance solutions, and equipment and maintenance solutions. Finally, the Small Budget Route allows you to quickly discover all the solutions at minimum cost and maximum enjoyment!
While Mr. or Mrs. bombards their coach with questions, their partner can sit quietly in the adjoining Reading Room, and enjoy the newspapers made available by the Exhibit’s press partners. Nautic is the first highlight of the year, and the entire specialized press publishes its most important issues for this occasion.

Remember the number of boaters who obtain their boat license is growing year on year and, guess what, the 2017 new licensees are invited to the Nautic for free! A small welcome gift to the nautical world of pleasure ... For those who postpone each year taking on this test, however simple and full of common sense it is, the Nautic Show has prepared a way to allow them to pass it within a week! Here comes the crazy jet ski rides, the long hikes at sunset, the inaccessible coves ... as early next summer!
Visitors will be able to learn or brush up the theoretical questions of the code on interactive kiosks and with the help of instructors from the French ECF. They will then practice, warm and safe, priority rules that are easy but never in the right direction (in or our, left of right? and so on...). A specific pool with radio-controlled boats will allow novices to properly comprehend the basics. Finally, the most adventurous will be able to take part in the practical tests on the nearby Seine.
The Nautic, ECF and Bénéteau have teamed up to offer visitors 8 coastal licenses and 8 one-year subscriptions to the Bénéteau Boat Club, online from November 8 to 22.
A special fishing course is organized between boat and engine specialists Tarpon, Humber, Fluvialys, Fiish, Valiant and Mercury, Suzuki, Adventure, Terithec, Sealegs. The Comptoir des Pêcheurs, the first online platform for fishing enthusiasts, will be present on this fishing zone with entertainments, equipment and boats specially designed for fishing.

boat anD vintage objects auction
AB Enchères, auctioneer and the Yacht Club and Navy Classic Courtage, the shipyard of Asnières sur Seine, are organizing an auction on Friday, December 8th in the heart of the Nautic Show. The boats and marine objects will be on display from December 2nd, so as to allow experts and enthusiasts time to view these rare items. Like the big sales in the classic car market, vintage boats are becoming more and more popular, whether they are sailing boats whose racetracks and rallies continue to grow in popularity in the wake of the Voiles de Saint Tropez, or beautiful motorboats.
From the faultless beauty of the Chris Craft KBL, the Bucher & Bucher canoes, the futuristic Commando U2 with its fins, an Evinrude canoe – ancestor of bow-riders, a small Hensa Taifun, a magnificent Launch in typical style with its central engine and his advanced helm station, a Johnson DeLuxe catamaran hull in the South Sea blue gelcoat, a magnificent Rocca with deck varnish and red upholstery, another all in white clad and featuring a vintage Evinrude engine, a magnificent Rohn runabout, a Skibsplast with its seventies style lines, menus, letters, scarves, glasses, and whistles having sailed on the largest cruise ships including those from France, the lots are all well worth a visit and a bid or two!

a unique surf waveat the heart
of paris
A strong surf wave will be unfurled on the Nautic 2017 Spot, in front of 240 tons of beach sand: the Infinity Wave.
Its innovative pump technology makes it unique in its ability to consume much less energy than a traditional wave, all while offering nearly a metre of water, suitable for using real surfboards with real fins! Additionally, its dimensions are exceptional, with 20 metres of indoor length. The waves produced by the reversible pumps reach up to 60 cm in height, with which you can safely surf in the warm Porte de Versailles exhibition center...
Nautic is free for young students, FFV (French Sailing Federation) licensees, year permit holders and children, making it, without a doubt, the best winter spot. An original surf wave, a large pool to do Wake and Paddle boarding, a beach, and thousands of aquatic games right before Christmas!

Beach handball is derived from indoor handball. During two ten-minute sets, two teams of four players compete on a sand court. Players can take three steps ball in hand, but dribbling is not allowed and moves can only be made by rolling the ball on the ground. Each goal determined to be «spectacular» or scored by the «specialist» (player distinguished by the color of his jersey) counts for double points. In the event of a tie at the end of a set, the winner is decided with a golden goal. If each team wins a set, the winner is determined through a shootout (shooting session).

Sand sports will take place on the Nautic beach, every day of the show thanks to the involvement of various sports Federations, including the FFT (French Tennis Federation), which wishes to promote a growing discipline: Beach Tennis.
Beach tennis was born in Italy in 1978 in the province of Ravenna. It was then introduced in the United States, Brazil and now takes place in a large number of countries such as France, Russia, Japan and Spain. Today, the number of players is estimated to be at 10 million worldwide.
In 2006, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) established the rules of this discipline, and since then it has governed the national tennis federations that organise it in their respective countries.
Beach tennis is an axis of development of tennis within the French Tennis Federation. The latter incorporated the discipline into its statutes in 2008 during its general assembly.
Today, as part of its «Act and Win» sports policy, the new governance wants the FFT to be at the centre of all tennis activities, and in particular beach tennis.
The practice of beach tennis in France is booming. The French Tennis Federation counts 3,027 competitors (1,987 men and 1,040 women). France currently has 9 female players and 5 male players in the World Top 50. The 9th French beach tennis championships were held from August 31st to September 3rd in Châtelaillon-Plage.

The Ministry of Sports has had a proactive policy for the controlled development of outdoor sports for over 10 years: sports for all, access to sport sites, protection of the environment, contribution to regional development and educational values of outdoor sports.
Over the last 3 years it has been leading a sand sports development strategy that involves sports federations with activities on sand. These sports, which are very developed elsewhere in the world but not yet in France, are considered a lever of development for the federations, a lever of valorisation and development of the regions, a market for the sporting industries and a support for different sports to capture a wider audience, especially during vacations.

exhibitions
pen duick iiiOpen to all audiences, this exhibition is a truly exceptional presentation of the prized and legendary boat: Pen Duick III is undoubtedly one of the most successful race boats in the history of yachting. For the first time, visitors can climb onto the deck of this winning machine designed by Eric Tabarly.Eric Tabarly is undeniably a pioneering symbol of the passionate relationship that the French have with the sea, but he was also and above all an enthusiast of technology and architecture, not afraid to upset the established order and rules to impose his many innovative ideas. If a historic Pen Duick is on display again (After the V in 2016), it also serves to illustrate the close relationship between racing, innovation and French yachting.
17.45m long and weighing 13.5 tons, Pen Duick III carries 152m of upwind sails and more than double downwind. Built in 1967 at the La Pérrière shipyards in Lorient in Duralinox, the ship was revolutionary at the time, with its innovative hull featuring a bulb keel and deep saffron running rigging. Designed by Eric Tabarly according to the rules of the RORC (Royal Ocean Racing Club) which regulated most major regattas at the time, Pen Duick III has simply shattered all records of victories and shaken the Anglo-Saxon world of yachting with its barely 20-year-old crew... So much so that the rules of the RORC were to evolve the following year to stop the outstanding French supremacy on all oceans.
On board, Eric Tabarly forms a remarkable team that will go down in history for its achievements, with his second Olivier de Kersauson, and with Alain Colas, Jean-Michel Carpentier, Gerard Petipas, Michel Vanek, Pierre English, Yves Guégan, Victor Tonnerre, Daniel Gilles and many others. And just as a well-made boat never dies, Pen Duick III will go on to have a very long career, attacking the Whitbread 1977 (the predecessor of the Volvo Ocean Race, before the dominance of the one-design race) with Eric Loizeau under the name of Gauloises II, then the Route du Rhum with Philippe Poupon, a double Transat and the legendary Vendée Globe with Jean-François Coste in 1989 under the name of Cacharel. His track record leaves a unique mark on the history of yachting, having crisscrossed all the world’s oceans! Including:
1967 : Razzia on the RORC • Morgan Cup (Portsmouth-Cherbourg) • Gotland Race • Channel Race • Fastnet (real time and compensated time) • Plymouth – La Rochelle • La Rochelle – Bénodet • Sydney – Hobart
1968 : Yarmouth – Lequeito (Cuba) • Lequeito – La Trinité/Mer1971 : Cape Town • Falmouth – Gibraltar • Middle Sea Race1972 : Southern Ocean Racing Club (SORC) Races • St Petersburg (USA,Fla) - Venice • St Petersburg – Fort Lauderdale •
Miami – Nassau • Los Angeles – Tahiti
Pen Duick III will arrive in Paris by special convoy on November 21st and will be displayed in Hall 1

ac50 - team franceCAMPAIGN 2015-2017 - THE FRENCH CHALLENGE ON THE 35TH AMERICA’S CUP
In 2013 Franck Cammas, Michel Desjoyeaux and Olivier de Kersauson decided to carry out the French maritime excellence to the international by creating a challenge, Team France, was asked to bring back in France the oldest sports trophy of the world, the America’s Cup.
Created in 1851, The America’s Cup is the most prestigious and technological trophy, an aside event which allows the winner to organize the following one, according to its rules and where he wishes, while respecting the spirit of the Deed Of Gift, the founding text of the test.
Team France joins over time with the creation of two branches, one in charge of the training of young talents, Team France Jeune, and the other one technological to work on the innovation and the research for performance.
In June, 2015, GROUPAMA, faithful partner of Franck Cammas for 20 years, makes a commitment beside Team France who becomes then GROUPAMA TEAM France.
In 2016, Groupama Team France builds his team by surrounding itself with the best sailors, the engineers, the architects and the French manufacturers and driven relentlessly in Brittany.
At the beginning of 2017, direction the archipelago of Bermuda to begin navigating. The boat will not stop evolving until the day before the 1st match on May 26th, 2017 against Oracle Team USA.
June 2017The French challenge takes away brilliantly two matches against the Swedish of Artemis and against the English of ben Ainslie Racing, but does not manage to cross the stage of the qualifications. The boat is the result of the work of a whole team, including the financial partners Groupama and Norauto, but also technological, among whom Dassault Systèmes, Atos-Bull, Altran, Esteco, Bénéteau, Suzuki, Musto, Ifremer, and the Team France club, gathering(collecting) passionate entrepreneurs who allowed the challenge to be thrown.
THE CONTINUATIONTEAM FRANCE ALWAYS HAS THE SAME OBJECTIVES:• Win the America’s Cup
• Combine the best of the French know-how and the international exporter
• Detect and accompany the talents of tomorrow by creating a competence center inspiring for the future generations

monohulls
Bénéteau brings to Paris its brand new Oceanis 51.1, a boat of crucial importance for the evolution of its sailing range. Available in multiple versions, including a «First» edition as a nod to its first successful sailboats, this new Océanis no longer compromises between comfort and performance, under the design of Olivier Racoupeau for the hull and Nauta Design. The customization can be extensive, and the equipment is remarkable, through to the famous Dock & Go joystick control system.
In Paris for the first time too, the brand-new Figaro 3 will be on display to the public. True stepping stones of the French solitary industry, which saw all its champions wear use their bottoms, Bénéteau Figaro have radically evolved by switching to the hydrofoil just like the Imoca and all the modern steeds. The Solitaire Urgo du Figaro, the AGRR Transat and all races of the Figaro class will change dimension!
Jeanneau continues its radical offensive on the market of the cruising monohull: After the bestseller 349, the yard of Les Herbiers this year launches a reasonable 319, homogeneous, voluminous and economic, but especially the 440 and 490. These two cruisers will remain in the history of cruising like real ergonomic revolutions: from the helm to the bow, no need to step over or climb anything, thanks to ingenious sloping decks, which do not encroach on the aft cabins. It begs the question why it hadn’t been thought of it before. The rest is in keeping: modular cockpit in huge sunbath (No more naps with heads bent under the halyards), clear and bulky arrangements, innumerable tricks...
Fora Marine is an example of the inventiveness of French yachting: Its wooden-epoxy hull boats do not require molds, and can therefore be developed quickly to follow trends. The result is a range that is always at the cutting edge of design, with fast hulls and very modern and bright interiors. This year, the yard unveils its brand-new RM 1370.
Allures, the Grand Large Group’s aluminum-hulled travel boat specialist, will present a new hyper-connected sailboat, the 45.9 developed with Kara Technology, a designer of tactile solutions. The concept is called EVA, global solution for docking and boating, revolutionized thanks to the artificial intelligence and to the 130 sensors mounted on board...
X Yachts rreturns to Paris with the X4.3, the latest installment of this new range that goes back to the fundamentals of the brand: The fast luxury cruise. Between Xp, Performance-oriented, and Xc designed for cruising, this new X4.3 is the perfect versatile fast sailing boat,

very well built like all X boats, perfectly finished and versatile enough to race during the weekend and travel
far and wide during holidays. For example, its bow can receive a composite outboard for the regatta, and then have it replaced with a solid davit for cruising.
Another small innovative project, Ofcet presents its new 32 feet intended to shake up the podiums of the Transquadra and other IRC races: The Sun Fast and other JPK. Designed by Marc Lombard, the Ofcet 32 is a homogeneous race cruiser but with a remarkable silhouette and deck plan: Powerful hull, inverted and bulky bow.
The CNB66 still carries the shipyard of Bordeaux at the top of the Parisian yachts in terms of size. The concept of semi-custom, hull and industrial structure but custom fittings and equipment, is always a success, allowing the shipyard of Bordeaux to establish itself on the market of tall ships with an incomparable selection.
The pioneer of the modern polyester sailboat, Dufour Yachts, will also reveal to Parisians several new advances. The 520, evolution of the bestseller 500, but also the brand new 360 World Premiere, at the heart of the cruise ship market. La Rochelle boatyard takes the prize of the boat that has everything that a yacht could offer: integrated outdoor kitchen, huge diving platform, portholes, choice of wood finishes...
Thanks to the Brittany region, all the Breton shipyards are also moving around Paris. Nautic will be able to display the latest productions of Structures (Pogo), IDB Marine with its Malango and Mojito, Espace VAG with its innovative catboats, Billy Marine, Epoh, JPK with its impressive runners, Marée Haute and its Django, Marine Compositeor Plasmor.

cruising multihulls
The cruising multihull market is thriving, it has been well afloat for years! The two French leaders, Lagoon and Fountaine-Pajot, veritable powerhouses of this sector, unveil awesome new features each year to meet the demands of an exacting market which is also on the rise. In 2017, you have to be able to have living area to be in the loop: the evening breeze during mooring is welcomed in the tropics. This year, Lagoon is unveiling new 40 and 50 foot catamarans, and Fountaine-Pajot is pursuing a quality upgrade and will be presenting its latest 40 footer, Lucia. Bringing cruising catamarans to Paris is a veritable challenge for sites; hydraulic trailers allow the movement of the boats above traffic lights, special convoys require several days of travel from the sites. They would get there faster by sailing!
Lagoon 40 is improving all of the characteristics of its older models: remote rig to optimise the large downwind sale, shortening the boom, Nauta Design interior for perceived quality, careful aesthetic and above all a vastly improved sail weight/surface ratio to simply move faster! One of the more successful cruising catamarans at the moment has Marc Van Peteghem & Vincent Lauriot Prevot signed hulls – the wizards of the racing multihull. The most recent winner of the Transat Jacques Vabre, Thomas Coville on the Sodebo ex-Geronimo, would not change course away from it...
The 40 foot catamarans are at the core of this thriving market. Fountaine-Pajot, a catamaran trendsetter after their famous Louisiane, unveiled Lucia 40 last year, a response from the Rochelais to the Bordelais from Lagoon: Good performances despite an impressive volume, the only 40 footer to offer 4 bathrooms, or a gigantic personal area! And of course this lounge area is in front of the roof, allowing you to enjoy the fresh evening breeze while relaxing with your guest...

dinghy sailing & water sports
Near the new large pool and the unparalleled artificial surfing wave, the world of water sports and dinghy sailing returns to the Nautic Show. A lot of innovations on display again this year, with as always, a strong tendency to want to sail on hydrofoils, whether stand up paddling, windsurfing, kite surfing or on catamarans! Industry specialists like Foil & Co optimize the production of such toys, which have become accessible to all watersports. Even the Olympic Nacra catamarans are flying through the water, and many formerly Archimedean sailboats are now ready to soar!
Across the Channel, the smallest waterhole hosts a sailing club, and dinghy sailing has remained very popular. British shipyards too, spurred on by the innovations of the specialist, RS Sailing, who will present three new products to be presented this year.
RS CAT 14
RS Neo
The RS Cat 14 is the second British foray in the light sport catamaran market. Taking all the findings and successful aesthetics of its 16-foot older brother, this new small catamaran is primarily intended for sailing schools.
The RS Zest is a simple and solid boat, which can take two large teens if necessary and complete the sail with a small jib. Convenient and accessible yet gorgeous and quick!
The RS Neo has the same specifications, but with a carbon mast and stunning responsiveness to the slightest breeze, while its robust rotomolded polyethylene shell can sit on the beach.

opens, cruisers, dayboatsThe American market having recovered greatly, with motorboats representing more than 80% of its activity, powerboating is particularly active this year with many novelties:
Loxo 32. The Structures shipyard has built a solid reputation with its Pogo yachts. Well designed for large transatlantic, fast and marine rides, but also coastal cruising. Still, the motorboat market is very promising, and the qualities of the Pogo yachts can be extrapolated to apply to the motorboat design and function giving a lightweight, economic boat with long radius of action. After years of hardening the sheets, some Structures customers could now picture themselves cruising without any constraint...

This year, thanks to its presence in the brand new «Bienvenue à Bord / Welcome on board» area, Macif will open its Dufour 36 sailboat from the Macif Sail Centre (MCV) to the public for the first time, for free. Also, while the Macif will present its efforts in supporting young talents in ocean racing on the main Nautic stage, it will also offer the opportunity to the public to take part in an exclusive interview with François Gabart **, during his attempt at a solo world-tour record aboard the MACIF trimaran.
At its stand, Macif will showcase its different undertakings and its sailing school (MCV), and will also provide access to offers and services for boaters, not to mention the chance to embark on board with Macif skippers, through Virtual Reality!
