Welcome to the Site Tracking Manager v1.0

Thank you for choosing the Site Tracking Manager! The Site Tracking Manager is a comprehensive site tracking management application for all your Web projects. This powerful and easy-to-use management tool allows you, the Site Administrator, to securely manage, actively track and accurately check your settings for Google Analytics and Google Adwords.

Site Tracking Manager v1.0 has everything you need to get started in tracking site data and ad conversions online. The Site Tracking Manager v1.0 module features full integration with Voloper's Internet Marketing toolkit and OpenSites. Site Tracking Manager v1.0 has been created to offer a fully configurable, feature-rich solution for you. It has been designed to be intuitive and easy to use, even for the novice Web user, saving you hours of time and giving you more control over your web project.

Section 1: Adding Site Tracking to your Project

Adding Site Tracking Manager to your Project To assign the Site Tracking Manager to your website, complete the following steps:

1) Create your website by clicking the Create Website button from the OpenSites Work Area.

2) Go to your project’s Admin Panel in Classic View (Figure 1-2) and click Pages. The list of Web pages in your project will be displayed. Click on the page name of the page you would like to add an Analytic ID or Conversion to display the page’s Detail View.

3) In the page’s Detail View, click the Modules tab. The available modules for the page is displayed.

4) Check the Conversion Name or Analytic ID you would like to include and click Update. The message Info Updated Successfully is displayed.

5) Within the page’s Detail View, click the Content tab. The Content Page and Web Content Editor (WCE) are displayed.

6) Click the Placeholder icon. The Placeholder dialog box is displayed.

7) Select the Analytic ID or Conversion from the drop-down menu and click OK. A highlighted Analytic or Conversion placeholder appears.

8) Click Update to save your changes within WCE.

9) Click on the Site Tracking module link to view the Site Tracking Administration Panel where you can configure Google Analytics and Google Conversion settings. You have now successfully added the Site Tracking Manager to your project.

Section 2: Configuring Google Analytics

Configuring Google Analytics The Google Analytics tab allows you to integrate and customize Google Analytics options for your site. We recommend you create a general analytic ID for your entire site, and if your site has an e-commerce solution, to create another ID for the e-commerce section of your site.

1) Click the Google Analytics tab. The Google Analytics page (see Figure 2-1) will be displayed.

2) Click the Add New Info button. The Google Analytics Details page (see Figure 2-2) will be displayed.

3) Enter your Google Analytics account number in the Google Analytic Account Number field.

4) Enter a description in the Description field.

5) Refer to http://www.google.com/support/googleanalytics/ for more information on how to complete the following fields: Track virtual page view, Additional Account #, Track subdomains, Ecommerce, Segmentation cookie, Track client info, Cookie integrity checking, Detect Flash version, Title in reports, Session timeout, Campaign conversion timeout Sampling rate, Use Urchin, Override Setting, and Tracking script.

6) Click the Add New Info button. The message Update Successful will be displayed.

Editing Analytic ID Details

To edit an Analytic ID, click on the Edit icon assigned to the Analytic ID in the Google Analytics Menu (Figure 2-2) to open the Google Analytics Configuration Page (Figure 2-3). Edit the necessary fields, and click the Update button. The message Update Successful will be displayed.

Deleting An Analytic ID Entry

1) Click the Google Analytics tab. The Google Analytics Menu (Figure 2-2) will be displayed.

2) Find the Analytic ID in the list and click the Delete icon assigned to it. A confirmation window will appear.

3) Click the OK button. The selected Analytic ID will automatically be deleted from the list.

Managing Google Conversion Tracking The Google Conversion tab (Figure 3-1) allows you to add conversion tracking for your website through Google Adwords. You must have a Google Adwords account to use the Google Conversion Menu.

Conversion tracking involves placing a few lines of code into your website to track how a user navigates from a Google Adwords ad to a conversion page within your site. A conversion is define by the Web Analytics Association as “a percentage of a visitor type who complete a multistep conversion process with a defined beginning and end within 30 minutes, whether it be signing up for a newsletter, buying a product online or some other desired outcome.” You can read more about conversion tracking at https://adwords.google.com/select/setup.pdf

1) Click the Google Conversion tab. The Google Conversion page (see Figure 3-1) will be displayed.

2) Click the Add New Info button. The Conversion Details Page (see Figure 3-2) will be displayed.

3) Enter a description in the Description field.

4) Enter the code snippet provided by Google Adwords in the Tracking Script field.

5) Click the Add New Info button. The message Update Successful will be displayed.

Editing Conversion Details

To edit a conversion, click on the Edit icon assigned to the conversion in the Google Conversion Menu (Figure 3-1) to open the Conversion Details Page (Figure 3-2). Edit the necessary fields, and click the Update button. The message Update Successful will be displayed.

Deleting A Conversion Entry

1) Click the Google Conversion link in the left navigation pane within the Administration Panel. The Google Analytics Menu (Figure 3-1) will be displayed.

2) Find the conversion in the list and click the Delete icon assigned to it. A confirmation window will appear.

3) Click the OK button. The selected conversion will automatically be deleted from the list.
