Nearly two years after the on-set of the financial crisis that affected the worldwide eco-nomy, it’s time to draw some conclusions and assess what has been learned in order to shape a new management for the future.

Without entering in the detail, because of the topic complex nature which is also depending from market laws, central banks politics and governments, it’s important to remember that we must think over the “finance re-gulation” which should fulfill two requirements: first to correct the incentives twisted by the financial operators, and second, to reduce the negative external influences and the systemic risk. It is also important to analyze the internal risk management policies of the single intermediary. It is our belief instead, that all ma-nagers out there, fighting every day against competition, should anticipate changes and require-ments of the market and should learn a lesson from this worldwi-de crisis (different in the way it presented itself from the past), in order to provide a new input to

manage their own companies. Job flows planning, annual budge-ting, investments profit analysis, project management, structural organization and brand manage-ment, these and other tools, are vital to the Company manage-ment that needs to be reinvented in order to face a new era. A group of academics, CEO, advi-sers, entrepreneurs, including Gary Hamel (London Business School), got together in order to define a “road map” to reinvent management and to show what needs to be done in order to cre-ate suitable future organizations.

During the last symposium, they came up with 25 new challenges. Gary Hamel, C.K. Prahalad, H. Mintzberg, P. Senge all agreed the first ten challenges are the most important ones.

We think it is important to hi-ghlight them so that they can serve as an evaluation base, for all managers, to start thinking this way: 1. To make sure the manage-

ment’s efforts will serve hi-gher purposes;

2. To fully embrace community

and citizenship values with management systems;

3. To build the management philosophical foundations again;

4. To get rid of formal hierarchy myths;

5. To fight fear and increase confidence;

6. To reinvent control tools; 7. To redefine leadership; 8. To expand and take advanta-

ge of diversities; 9. To reinvent the process of

strategic thinking into a pro-cess of new becoming;

10. Structural organization. Good Luck!

2 Indonesia: a market in continuous evolution.

According to ITMF statistics, there are about 8 million fu-ses installed including Marzo-li’s machinery, a further con-firmation the Made in Italy is valued by the Indonesian customers.

Indonesia is the greatest archipe-lago in the world, which includes over 13 thousand islands and it is located between the Indian and the Pacific Ocean.

The inhabited islands are appro-ximately six thousands, including the main ones such as Giava, Bali, Sumatra, Madura, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Irian Jaya. About thirty of them are the smaller archipelago. The popula-tion is approximately 210 million inhabitants with a very high de-velopment rate which places the country in fourth place among the most populated countries in the world after China, India and USA.

Over 60% of the population is distributed within the three main islands of Giava, Madura and Bali.

More than two thirds live in Gia-va, which is one of the most po-pulated regions in the world, with a population density of 800 inha-bitants for square kilometer.

The economy is based on mining resources which represent two third of export. The main resource is represented by oil which makes the country one of the major pro-ducers in the world. However, in the course of the last years, the government has privileged the development of the manufacturing industry which represents approximately 33% of the GDP.

The Indonesian business policy has developed a deregulation program and opening of foreign

markets. This included tariff re-ductions, abolition of not tariff barriers, improvements in the facilitation of the exchanges and modifications of investments le-gislation.For the first time this year, the European Community offers bud-getary support to Indonesia, with a participation that will be the se-cond major one in Asia in terms of financial entity.

At the end of May 2010, the European commissioner respon-sible for the Andris Piebalgs de-velopment attended the second Conference for development organized by the Summit Asia-Europe (ASEM). He also atten-ded high level discussion panels about the cooperation between the European Community and Indonesia.

The textile market.

In the latest years we have seen an important economic growth. A 7.7% GDP growth was recorded in 2007 in comparison to the year before.Construction and financial servi-ces represent the industries with higher development rate. In 2008, the growth was only 1.1%, whe-reas within the first four months of 2009, there has been a variation of 6.2%. After this GDP variance, in March 2009, in March 2010 the country recovered 10.1% (no-minal annual GDP), (information by MTI: Ministry of the Commerce and the Industry). In 2009, Italy retains its worldwi-de 21st spot as Indonesia’s tra-ding partner as goods supplier and the 5th spot within the European Community, after Germany, Uni-ted Kingdom, France and Holland. Almost most of all major Italian fashion brands including Valenti-

Press release post ITMA Asia 2010 Marzoli.

ITMA ASIA: June 22-26 Shang-hai New International Expo Cen-tre.

The Italian textile machinery manufacturers represented 115 exhibitors on a 4,000 square me-ters area. International ITMA show first time exhibitor, Marzoli, explains in the detail the innovative ca-pabilities of the electronics on their machinery: the SIMOTION control system by Siemens that makes the use of the machinery easier, the prompt feedback time along with its great reliability and the dimensional compactness. Many visitors came by the Mar-zoli’s booth, both industry and outside industry operators.

All of them were curious to test the machinery control from main keyboard, thus allowing a total management on the spot. The partnership between Sie-mens and Marzoli continues its path towards innovation, not only to achieve their goals, but, most of all, to provide complete satisfaction to the customer. The Chinese manufactures represen-ted the greater group occupying a 50% of the space. Within that space, about 30% of the visitors were from Asian countries such as Pakistan, In-dia, Vietnam, Thailand, Bangla-desh, Indonesia. Other visitors in-cluded countries such as Turkey, Syria, Egypt, Iran. Marzoli’s technology attracted numerous visitors, many of them requested quotes which we hope will soon turn into orders.We would like to thank everyo-

ne that visited our booth and we take this opportunity to invite you to the 2011 ITMA in Barcelona where Marzoli will exhibit the last generation machinery.

Advantages of the “Simotion Sinamics” software by Siemens.4

Marzoli utilizes highly techno-logical innovative systems in all its machinery such as the S.S by Siemens.

There are many advantages with this new software:

• Execution time of complex con-trol algorithms up to 1ms with consequent increase of the machinery performance; such feature represents an advanta-ge especially for the production of special yarns with machinery such as the spinning machine where elevated precision levels are required during flames exe-cution.

• CPU Simotion Program and Si-namics drives are saved in an extractable memory compact flash. In case of a breakdown, this allows the replacement of all electronic modules (inclu-ding the CPU) without having

to program again; after repla-cement of the module, one can start the machine again.

• Use for handling of known technologies such as the asyn-chronous motors which, simply activated with encoder and con-trolled in closed ring with a ring closing speed of 125ms allow to get performances only achieva-ble with synchronous motors.

• In this way, one combines the easy availability of the asyn-chronous motors with the precision and reactivity of the brushless motors.

• Connection between the drives with dedicated bus that offers great reliability within the com-munications between the seve-ral modules.

• Online energy regeneration du-ring braking.

• Remarkable energetic saving achievable during decelera-tion process. Moreover, such function involves the elimi-nation of difficult braking resistances often prone to overheating that are difficult to control.

• Operating panel Touch Screen that allows a better interac-tion man-machine.

The solution Simotion Sinamics

is utilized on the following ma-chines:• Ring spinning frame;• Draw frame: with autoleveller

and not; • Comber;• Card.

In the future we will see the use of this technology also on other machines such as:• Roving frame; • Lap former; • Superblender B12.

technical staff and R & D center, where all the data coming from the spinning area are collected and analyzed.

Thanks to this constant effort and commitment to the custo-mers, Marzoli was able to im-prove their technology according to the new technical fibers pro-duction requirements and thus can offer the best machinery for quality processing of aforemen-tioned fibers.

Marzoli is therefore the ide-al partner for the quality and uniqueness of their opening, mixing, preparation and spin-

ning machinery.The opening line is Marzoli’s strongest asset for technical fi-bers processing.

In fact, in order to set up our machinery, one can chose among several types of beaters, all with variable speed, various types of carding sectors, several types of nipping systems and feeding rollers.Special paints, and, where re-quested, stainless steel sheets, all allow to work any type of fi-ber without wear and tear of the parts in contact with fibers.

The transportation of fibers

The demand for technical yarn is constantly increasing, both for their characteristics of highest tenacity and ela-sticity and for their resistance to heat and flame.

The continuous evolution of technical fibers has allowed to widen the field of uses of yarns and woven fabrics produced with them. They also gained a remarkable spot within the ap-parel and the furniture industry.

Thanks to these continuous in-novations, we foresee a remar-kable increase of technical high performing yarn’s production in

the next years.Marzoli is leader in the production and supply of machinery and sy-stems for the production of tech-nical yarn. In fact, thanks to the collaboration with a few among the biggest worldwide producers in the industry, in the specific, Fil-man-Made Group that has plants in Italy, Turkey, Portugal and China, Marzoli expanded their knowledge to be able to develop machinery suitable for the pro-duction of these yarns.

Marzoli does not limit to the in-stallation and start-up of machi-nery, but they actively work with the customers along with their

Poliimmide FR (Polyimides).The fiber that comes from po-liamide, has a very impressive chemical and heat resistance. It

is therefore used for safety gar-ments, smoke filtrations at high temperatures and in presence of

chemical substances.

Modacrilica FR.Modacrylic is a fiber composed by linear macromolecules that represent in the chain between 50% and 85% in mass of the acrilonitrilico motivo, whereas if

it goes beyond 85% it becames acrylic fiber. Its labeling is MA. It’s mainly produced in staples and is highly flame retardant. Therefore it is utilized mainly

for decorating both interior and public where flame retardant is mandatory by law.

Focus: not a strategy but a fact for Marzoli.6

The data collected between February 4th and June 30th 2010 show how Marzoli, chal-lenging the economic crisis and the Asian competition, was able to overcome all the negative hurdles predicted for the market, once again gaining a top spot within the successful Compa-nies.

During this timeframe, Marzo-li website was visited 11,163 times, including 9,331 new visitors. This evidences how the Italian Company is able to attract new customers. With a new, updated and dynamic web-site, an average visitor spends from 2,5 to 5 minutes mainly

utilizing Internet Explorer as browser.As shown by the graphic below, 68,79% visitors get to the Mar-zoli website with search engines, 28.95% directly to the website and 2,26% by referrals.From the analysis of these data, it is obvious how, where the de-mand is stronger, the eyes are on Marzoli, especially for events and products. Once again, Marzoli competen-ce and success traveled beyond new boundaries, facing new de-veloping markets and represen-ting the Made in Italy in terms of quality and reliability.
